If the signifcators were say Venus in Pisces and Mars in Libra, then I'd think Venus felt comfortable with Mars (in Mars's triplicity) and Mars liked Venus an awful lot (ruled by Venus). ...

I would say this thread highlights to me the necessity or desirability of getting a professional horary reading done by a third person (if at all possible) for sensitive emotional questions. That's what I would do (and have done).

I think what people are saying is that Mars squares Jupiter before Mercury reaches Mars (thereby effecting a translation) and before Venus and Mars conjunct one another and that this could be a prohibition (or it might not be) depending on what Jupiter represents. I agree with Gunhilde that if the Sun is a significator then conjunction would give a Yes and combustion can be ignored (as Frawley says).
