I guess my understanding was that you were applying the 5 deg rule to the houses, not the signs, His diurnal or daily motion has nothing to do with the five-degree rule. Tom Perfect, just what I was asking =) I do find that the 5 deg rule works in my own chart, too. Jupiter was in the 6th, 4 deg fr... I guess my understanding was that you were applying the 5 deg rule to the houses, not the signs, which doesn't make sense to me if the planets are moving out of the houses, not into them through the cusp. Which means that when I'm assessing a chart, I'm taking that movement into account. Should I be... Forum: Nativities & General Astrology Topic: Which house would it belong to? This may be a dumb question, but why do we even use the 5 deg rule if the planets move backwards through the houses (e.g. 1st, to 12th, 11th, etc from East to West in the sky)? Shouldn't we apply it to planets in the early degrees of a house which are about to enter the previous (or next depending o... Peregrine - what definition do you use? I've been operating under the assumption that a planet that has some sort of an essential dignity or an essential debility is not peregrine. But I've also read that a planet can be peregrine with an essential debility. Are both of these practices in use, or have I just misunderstood this? I'll be in my Saturn dasas in about 20 years, and I don't think I'll live long enough to access energy from my Venus dasas . I think having my Venus in Detriment conjoining Saturn and Pluto is really enough to get my attention! But I suppose having my Venus in its Joy is... nice? helpful? or merely ... I have noticed that the Dalai Lama, Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher all have their Mars in Libra. They are known for fighting for their people although I am no great fan of the latter. On the other hand the Marquis de Sade had his Mars in its own sign of Aries so I dont think that a planets ... Re: Nice graphic, Elf... Alright, I can see your concern...the Mars does dominate from it's position in the 5th House, so you will need to be aware of a big tendency to take risks (which may or may not pay off). A weak Mars also damages consistency of effort (which is exacerbated by a 6th House Uranus). Yep! Just had one l... How to work with my dispositor tree Hey all, I'd like some feedback on how I can bring out my better nature with my particular dispositor tree, which is quite "challenging." ;) I'm concerned about the mutual reception (aka mutual deception) between Venus and Mars, and the fact that Mars disposes the majority of my planets.
