Chaldean terms, not Ptolemy's... Does anyone have information on the Chaldean terms, as given on this blog: http://altairastrology.wordpress.com/2009/03/01/more-on-the-terms-or-bounds/ A quick Google search didn't give me much, and I'm curious as to who "invented" them, who used them, any references in ancient texts, etc.... However Robert teaches this with this understanding; the masculinity or femininity of the planets in astrology exists as a conception for the soul purpose of delineation and prediction ;i.e. determining the sex of children or or the sex of other people signified in the chart. He further adds that t... Forum: Traditional (& Ancient) Techniques Topic: Mars, a female? Replies: 17 Views: 11111 Wed Nov 10, 2010 7:11 pm Jump to post
Well, in the thread title I meant female as a synonym of feminine. And yes, I am aware that they have different meanings. I would hope that people could overlook such minor offenses and not discredit the whole issue because of them... zoidsoft, thats actually a very interesting and believeable idea.... Mars, a female? I'm looking at p. 234 of R. Ramsay Wright's translation of Al-Biruni's The Book of Instruction in the Elements of the Art of Astrology , #385: Some people say that Mars is female, but this opinion is not received. Does anyone have deeper information regarding this bit of trivia? It's something I saw... Forum: Traditional (& Ancient) Techniques Topic: Mars, a female? Thanks for the reply, Kirk. You are right, that is my mistake concerning cardinal and fixed. I am a student of only two years, with only online resources to learn from, so everything is still fresh in my mind, and kind of loosely floating around in there. :) Also, I can agree with you from the readi... Thanks for your reply, Tom. Counting up points doesn't really do it although there is some value to it. I understand this, but most of the methods I have read in some part involve weighting or counting of the humours... I hope you know what I mean... Whether a planet is cardinal, fixed, or mutable d... Is it okay if I post links to free online material? I'll try to stick to what you all have mentioned so far, at least what I can find for free, and what is not already available from this site (and others) in the Study Library section. Well, where this could be useful is if you have say 6 points for choleric and 6 for sanguine, except two "points of interest" of choler are in cardinal signs, while all six of the sanguine are in fixed and mutable signs. But your comment "The usual method would be to look at modality ... Hello. Sorry to revive an old thread, but I have a question ... Is it unreasonable to assume that the modality of a sign affects the expression of its "elemental" qualities onto a planet therein, especially as it concerns the calculation of temperament? This is how I'm thinking: that the M... Thank you for the reply. It's reassuring to know that I am not the only one thinking of this. Forum: Traditional (& Ancient) Techniques Topic: Morin and the Lots Replies: 2 Views: 3497 Thu May 13, 2010 6:10 pm Jump to post
