I wouldn't take the Sun (or Moon)if it were in the 12th sign from the Asc because it'd be in aversion to it which can't be good for the Hyleg. Although I did learn that if the lights were within 5 degrees above the Asc they could act as Hyleg, but if you had an early ASC, that would put the Hyleg in... Thanks for the link James, interesting if not conclusive. If I look at my own SR for this year, it puts SR MC and Asc in almost exact opposition to natal Moon and Venus resp. when I use place of birth. Nothing significant concerning the pivots in the one using place of residence. Thanks for the comments guys. I read Morin's 21, so should be ok with 23, I might even have it, have to check when I'm back in a few months. I have to admit that this relocation hype that's been going on on some boards never really interested me, not realizing that when choosing place of residence f... Thanks Paul and James for your opinion. My tendency is towards birthplace as well. Do you happen to have 'On solar revolutions'? What do they use there? Forum: Traditional (& Ancient) Techniques Topic: Reference place Replies: 17 Views: 11762 Sun Dec 11, 2016 9:35 pm Jump to post
Reference place I've become increasingly uncertain as to what reference place to use with Solar returns, birth place or place of residence. I'm sure arguments for either are valid enough, so I'm more interested in people's experience: what works best? Hi Morpheus, well, that is different from how I look at planets. I do blind readings regularly, so I know it's possible, but it isn't easy, true. Hi Paul, thanks for the link, I may have to make use of it at some point when I decide to post something here. I dear, I just noticed that I have absolutely no idea how to post a chart here, so you go ahead... Forum: Traditional (& Ancient) Techniques Topic: Best Source to learn Traditional techniques:Rank of Fame etc Replies: 30 Views: 22371 Thu Mar 03, 2016 10:30 am Jump to post
I'd love to post a chart (not mine). Would you be willing to do a blind reading? I'm asking, because often when delineating celebrities' charts, people (me included) already know a lot, and may subconsciously direct their delineation towards the 'right' results, so I find a blind one better. I do re... Forum: Traditional (& Ancient) Techniques Topic: Best Source to learn Traditional techniques:Rank of Fame etc Replies: 30 Views: 22371 Thu Mar 03, 2016 10:25 am Jump to post
Our system seems to be closer to him. What do you mean with 'our system'? Essential dignities determine the strength of a planet. Accidental dignities determine the 'goodness' or otherwise of a planet. When I read the word 'strength' I always associate it with 'the strength to act' eg a planet in a... I think I'm ok, but uncertainties always come up on various subjects in the process of delineation, so I try to gain experience by doing charts and read carefully the feed backs, so I may be able to learn. Maybe I'll post a list here at some point, Yukis 10 questions.... Do you do charts? I have both books you mention by Benjamin Dykes, they're great, can highly recommend them. But as far as the Hyleg and also rank of fame is concerned, I haven't seen anything that is as good as what's in the diploma course. The concept of sect is something Paul pointed out to me, and I've used it in...
