As usual I was still editing the errors in my post when you replied! Glad it was helpful to you! You asked what to do when you see an afflicted Lord of the 10th. I guess again this depends on whether the sick party has come to you first, or whether you are giving a second-opinion. If they come... Hi Yair I am far from an expert in medical astrology, but my understanding of the traditional approach to such matters is: - the 1st house signifies the querent or the sick party, his vitality, his body, his health - the 4th house signifies the end of the disease, good or bad - the 6th house signifi... I have increasingly been using whole-sign houses for natal work. Examining this chart from a whole-sign perspective makes answering this question somewhat easier. http://i.imgur.com/TgRIcBd.jpg The 10th house shows fame, honour, dignity etc. Using whole-sign houses, Dylan's 10th house is Virgo. Fascinating! Thanks for that Konrad, very illuminating. My focus over the past 10ish years has been horary and elections, so predicting from the birth chart is the new frontier for me. These kinds of insights are really helpful! As you seem well versed in the subject, and at the risk of going off to... I'm going to go ahead and answer my own question here! A close reading of Lilly's section on directions confirms that, in the context of relationship inquiries, directions to the aspects or body of Venus concern amorous relationships, so conceptually I think this could apply equally to women and men... Thanks for the advice Konrad. I think what you have said makes sense for Venus, as the planet showing love (Venus is the goddess of love after all!). So conceptually I am ok with using directions to Venus to show an "amorous relationship" as you eloquently put it. I found that part of your... William Lilly's primary directions - for females? Hi all Very quick query, I am tinkering with a female natal chart using Book 3 of Christian Astrology, and I note that in Lilly's section on the direction of the hylegical places to promittors, when it comes to relationships Lilly basically assumes you are reading the birth chart of a heterosexual m... Another fascinating post Waybread. I really enjoy reading what you have to say! It's amusing that this topic has veered into a discussion of Abrahamic religions vs astrology, because I'm actually working on an essay for an astrology course I am taking that touches upon these issues too. So it's rath... Forum: Horary & Electional Astrology Topic: Thoughts on "Will I..." questions Replies: 13 Views: 5432 Wed Jan 11, 2017 7:59 pm Jump to post
Waybread - Thanks so much for your fantastic contributions! I particularly enjoyed your Bible quotations. The one from James was fascinating as the writer basically instructs us to always say "If God wills" when discussing our plans or goals for the future, which is identical to the Muslim... Hi Wade Thanks for this detailed and thoughtful reply! I am grateful for the suggestion to take a more open-ended approach to horary consultations - that is an interesting approach and something to consider. I like your brick wall analogy, that is very close to my own views on fate. You always have ... Thoughts on "Will I..." questions Hi all Just had a very interesting question from a client that sparked off a lot of deep thoughts about fate vs free will, and I'm curious how other practicing horary astrologers grapple with that issue. In summary, the client asked "Will I stay with my current employer in 2017?" Note this...
