help with 3rd house question!! 1 by Gunhilde "Will he read/respond to the email (and will it be a positive response?" http://www.astro.com/cgi/showgif.cgi?la ... res=75&va= This is about a former lover of mine with whom I separated last year due to difficult circumstances. I just emailed him requesting a cautious reconciliation or at least a reuptake of communication. I am *assuming* he will read the email with this question. I have traditionally used House 7 for him, not 5th. I am Mercury and he is Jupiter Rx in 3rd of communications. Lilly says that if the significators of the two -people- (I believe) apply by trine then the communication will come about. However, it may just mean that he still has feelings for me (and due to Rx may change his mind!) Moon in Libra in 1st sextile to Mars (3rd sig) in 11th is exact, but this may represent my -desire- to make this happen, especially with house placements. Moon, however, applies by square to me and doesn't aspect Jupiter, which I would think means 'no'. 3rd Mars also applies by square to Jupiter, which I would also interpret as 'no'. However, if I use the 5th of lovers instead of the 7th, Mars applies to conjunction, and Moon applies by sextile meaning 'possibly'. (?) Saturn actually 'fits' loverman better but I hesitate to use 5th as I may just be projecting! Any insight would be most gratefully received. Quote Sat Jun 10, 2006 12:54 am
2 by Gunhilde I am also wondering about Uranus sitting right on the Descendant in exact square to the Sun in the 10th. Is that relevant for this chart? Quote Sat Jun 10, 2006 1:06 am
3 by Sue I would stick to the 7th for your ex partner. The use of the 5th for lover is a modern interpretation that is not correct. I think it is important to decide what significators to use before interpreting the chart rather than deciding on significators on the basis of what gives the most favourable outcome. There are possibly occasions when it is necessary to change significators based on the chart but, as a general rule, we can decide on significators before we draw the chart. The Moon in sextile to Mars is just separating by eight minutes. Lilly says that separation begins at 6 minutes past perfection but I always consider it to be separating once it has attained perfection. Even though Jupiter is retrograde, which means it is moving towards Mercury while Mercury moves towars it, the aspect will perfect before Jupiter goes direct again. This suggests that there will be some sort of communication between the two of you. I would take note of Uranus on the 7th house cusp given that this is a relationship issue but I haven't thought about what it might mean. Quote Sat Jun 10, 2006 2:13 am
4 by Gunhilde Thanks! I have always used the 1st/7th axes for these questions as the 5th often makes the chart muddled. I had noted the separating sextile between Mars and Moon; I suppose since this is the last aspect the moon made this could simply mean that I only very recently emailed him. Moon's next aspect is to Saturn, sig. of 5th of love in 11th of hopes; positive, maybe? For his reply would I used the turned 3rd then (radix 9th), which would be Venus in dignity (sorry, had put 'exalted'; duh) from 9th with Merc applying by sextile? I note that the moon and Venus exchange dignities by ruler/exaltation, but Venus first opposes Jupiter before sextiling Mercury. Hmmm. Any way I look at this chart I get a 'yeah but no but yeah' sort of answer; clearly one of the problems in doing one's own charts! Quote Sat Jun 10, 2006 2:50 am
