Eclipses have good PR - that's about it. [/color] hi tom and mari, well, some of us are following the commentary, even if we don't comment! i think the eclipse data as it relates to personal charts is quite relevant.. i would agree with morin - they are like more powerful lunations, except i think they are more powerful as they involve the nodal axis and depending on just where that lands in a persons chart by transit, or by birth, will influence the relevance of these eclipses.. i think an eclipse that lands on your own nodal axis or hits the sun, moon or ascendant in your chart is important.. one astrologer who writes books on these topics - the nodes and eclipses - and who i like for the examples and insights she has on them is judith hill..https://judithhillastrology.com/ you might want to explore her work and go from their.. regards - james Quote Sun Dec 02, 2018 9:34 pm
14 by james_m don't quote me, but i do believe trumps rise to the presidency coincided with the eclipse data... i note the place of the north node in cancer now aligns with the inauguration chart for trump jan 20 2017, and that the conjunction of venus/saturn in the later part of cancer will also be highlighted this year for what that is worth.. i suspect trumps challenges will increase in the next year as a consequence.. also, being discussed in the mundane thread is the topic of pluto in capricorn and of course the transit of saturn in capricorn and into later capricorn is happening this coming 2019 as well... the many charts for the usa have an opposition between pluto in capricorn and mercury in cancer, so again - this will be highlighted in the following year due the eclipse cycle here... now, whether finances and the position of the usa$ and finances on the world stage this coming year will be a bigger deal for the usa given all this - i suspect that it will be, but we will have to wait and see how it plays out.. i haven't based this on any particular chart, but just the coincidence of the eclipse cycle being in late cancer/capricorn where the nodes are right now... so, we can wait and see just how relevant these ecliipses are for both trump and the usa... i don't believe i discussed the eclipse tie in with trumps inauguration here, but it is indeed something i am watching... perhaps i can add the eclipse data for this coming year to this thread to highlight it more specifically.. http://skyscript.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10310 Quote Sun Dec 02, 2018 9:50 pm
15 by Mari Hi, James! Thanks for joining us. I'm not sure I'm the right person to discuss Trump with you: I'm not much into the mundane astrology, besides I'm pretty much indifferent to Donald Trump, so I only discovered his chart literally yesterday after your post But, well, yeah, why not take a look? (in the context of what we are discussing here, so I guess we'd better put aside the outer planets, purely mundane astrology, etc.). I've only figured out his 2016 solar return, so I just took a look at the natal chart/solar return 2016 chart/eclipses. And it's potentially interesting: starting from 2015 and up to his inauguration the eclipses heavily accentuate Virgo-Pisces and Leo-Aquarius axes (the are only few that fall out of them). Given that Virgo-Pisces fall into Trump's natal Asc/Dsc axe, and Leo-Aquarius into his solar 2016 axe. Moreover, Trump's lot of Spirit is in Pisces and Fortune is in Aquarius, so Virgo-Pisces is angular for Spirit (Dsc/Asc) and Aquarius-Leo is angular for Fortune. Since we are in the Traditional and Ancient Techniques forum, we keep in mind that ancient authors (was it especially Valens?) paid an important attention to the "operative places" from Spirit and/or Fortune. So here we, for sure, have eclipses that over a period of time up to the inauguration activate at once the natal, solar and Spirit/Fortune angles. Also, his Asc profection in 2016 was in Gemini: the sign involved in the natal eclipse, as well as "operative" in the natal chart (whether you consider as 10th or 11th). With respect to Spirit Gemini is angular (the 4th sign from Pisces) and with respect to Fortune it occupies "the Good Fortune" place (the 5th from Aquarius). All of these places are highly operative, which indicates a truly important personal year. So, yeah...even at first glance, if you had citizen Trump knocking on your door in 2016, you would probably tell him that this period will be kind of important in his life, a big moment. Now, that's surely not because of this that he was elected (I just don't go into the mundane astrology here) and surely there's a certain number of people who'd experience some similar things. That's why I'd only say to any of them: you'd probably have an important year or two. And that's what it is (but that's also probably what that person would like to know, so it's rather useful). P.S. For the 2016 solar return: on 14/06 Trump held a rally in North Carolina, in the evening; on 13/06 he was in the state of New Hampshire up to the evening; so he must have spent his solar return somewhere on the road between these two; given that the solar return took place in the morning, I'd rather bet that he was still in the New Hampshire. Anyway that gives us the Asc range from late Cancer NC to Leo in NH, so pretty much the same) Quote Mon Dec 03, 2018 1:39 pm
16 by james_m hi mari, i have no desire to talk about trumps chart and all that either.. i only brought it up as i thought it was relevant to the thread if one was looking for a specific example.. if you want to talk about the inauguration chart as it relates to the eclipse data - lets do that on the mundane forum.. thanks! 17 by Tom except i think they are more powerful as they involve the nodal axis Good point. All of these places are highly operative, which indicates a truly important personal year. I don't want to get off the eclipse topic, but I do find it interesting that only now, two years after election night in 2016, are astrologers spotting things that indicated Trump would win the Presidency. At the time, astrologers picking Trump to win were a rare few. And when he did win the excuses began to fly. Maybe a fresh look is in order. In the Morin Forum on FB that I moderate, I avoid Trump's chart because he is a lightning rod and too many people, not all, cannot look at his chart objectively. That being said, if either or both of you wish to discuss his chart using traditional methods, I have no problem with it continuing here. You might want to start a different thread to differentiate it from the eclipse topic. But if you wish to spin off and keep it here, that's fine, too. Your choice. I found something in Morinus Book 13 on the planets and it seems to fit Trump pretty well, but it has nothing to do with eclipses. I might look at primary directions to the eclipse in his chart to see if that produces anything. It's a pretty busy time of year to begin anything in depth though. Quote Tue Dec 04, 2018 12:17 am

You might want to start a different thread to differentiate it from the eclipse topic. Well, why not? I think a separate topic would be way better. I found something in Morinus Book 13 on the planets and it seems to fit Trump pretty well, but it has nothing to do with eclipses. Just another reason why a separate topic would be useful if you want to talk about the inauguration chart as it relates to the eclipse data - lets do that on the mundane forum.. thanks! Thanks, James! I'll write there if I figure out something about it. So far my first thought: Saturn will be the ruler/in opposition to almost all 2019 eclipses, while being the ruler of the culminating Sun in the inauguration chart. I'll think it over and continue my comments about it in that topic. Quote Tue Dec 04, 2018 11:08 am
19 by Tom One caveat for everyone - not just James and Mari. I know that Donald Trump is a polarizing figure. I also know that mundane astrology whether it relates to an individual or an event, is the crown jewel of astrology, but that extreme partisanship tends to ruin it. So pointing out past and future difficulties as they relate to astrology is fine. Beginning, a priori, with "Donald Trump is Satan incarnate and astrology proves it!" is something else and that something doesn't belong here. Be nice Quote Tue Dec 04, 2018 2:14 pm

21 by james_m thanks tom... i was relieved when the thread that fleur had done on pluto in capricorn in connection with the devil card in tarot, didn't also throw trump into the mix!!!! i know what you mean and am guilty of this, no doubt... although i do try to be impartial, i am not all that good at it... thanks.. 22 by Tom Bias is human. No one is free from it. Not you; not me; not anyone. I don't care about bias. I care about all consuming hatred that is being rationalized with astrology, and I don't really care who the target is. I care about the nonsensical use of astrology to validate the hatred because it demonstrates that astrology can tell us everything we want to believe. In other words, we're giving ammunition to the enemy. Who can that help? Quote Wed Dec 05, 2018 2:47 pm
