Is this a good chart? 1 by Jupiterrising I quit my job in December 2019 to start traveling in 2020. I could not travel, we all know what happened to everyones travel plans this year. I am home now and jobless. I decided to start my own business. This chart is for the question : Will my business be successful? It's a consultation business. I am hiring people to work under me. I will be spending some money..so I wanted to be sure whether this plan will be successful before I invest too much. Also, at the moment this is online business. But eventually I plan to get a office. Chart: Aquarius rising. My significator is Saturn in Aquarius in the 12th house and Moon in the 6th. The business is ruled by Scorpio, ruler is Mars in Pisces. The money I earn from the business is Jupiter in Capricorn. Both Saturn and Jupiter are retrograde and in my 12th house. Mars in Pisces is in no good shape either. But will soon move into Aries it's rulership. Moon's next aspect is conjunct the antiscion of Venus, then oppose Jupiter, trine Mars and finally oppose Saturn. I take Venus as natural ruler of money and so the antiscion to Venus is probably not a bad thing. Is the Moon translating light from Jupiter to Mars and Saturn? I see this as a positive chart. Am I being overly optimistic? Mars will soon move into Aries it's rulership and will trine Saturn my ruler. Moon will sextile Mars but it conjuncts the antiscion of Venus before that. I still took it as a posivitive considering Venus is natural ruler of Money. Moon translates light from Mars to Jupiter to Saturn via opposition. Opposition is not a good aspect but it doesn't matter in translation I assume. What I am worried though, is the state of Mars right now and even when it enters Aries, it will be in Saturns fall. Does this matter? My significator Saturn is retrograde along with Jupiter, Venus and Mercury..that's something that concerning as well. I took that as a slow start.. My own money that I am investing is also ruled by Jupiter ruling Pisces my second house, so it's hard for me to figure out whether I am spending or earning money. Quote Mon Jun 22, 2020 5:01 pm
by AmeliaS To earn, we want to see aspects between Lord 1/7 and Lord 2/8. To succeed, we want to see Lord 10 aspecting Lord 1 or the ascendant. There are two mildly positives: One is Moon translating between Mercury (Customer's Money) and Jupiter (Your Money). But Jupiter is in the sign of Moon's detriment and this is an opposition. So even if this could be done, which I doubt, you might end up wishing it wasn't. Also Mercury (Customer's Money) is under the beams of the Sun (Customers) and applying to combustion. Quite literally, the customers are hiding it, keeping their purses zipped. Or the banknotes go burning figuratively before they can reach you. This can't be good for profits. Combined with the opposition, it looks like you might earn some money, but you won't earn enough to cover the expenses, hence the potential regrets. Another mildly positive sign is Lord 10 Mars applying for a sextile (not trine) with Saturn you. The problem again is reception. You'd have to consult the ephemeris to confirm in which signs this aspect is going to perfect. Aries is Saturn's fall. I found no aspect between Lord 1 and Lord 7/8. The chart is littered with warnings. I would suggest to first figure out why Saturn and Jupiter are retrograde and in the unfortunate House 12. Perhaps there are unfavourable factors (hidden enemies, hidden financial issues) you aren't aware of yet. In fact, most planets in play here are retrograde. This brings delays and difficulties as you said but also hurts badly in terms of planetary strength and hinders perfection. I'm not sure Moon translates the way you mentioned because it's two applying aspects. I myself would say Moon translates between L8 and L2 as said. Good luck, Amelia Quote Tue Jun 23, 2020 1:37 am
by AmeliaS House 11 is only used when the money you desire comes from "the King or Nobleman, Generall or Common-wealth, Lieutenant-Generall, or any great Person which he Expects." (Page 174, CA) Axis 2/8 concerns profits from business viz. from your fellow citizens and countrymen. You might refer to the second house matters in Christian Astrology page 173-174: If the Querent shall obtaine the Substance which he demands, or hath lent, or the Goods he hath pawned. If the demand of the Querent be, Whether or no he shall procure the money or substance from him of whom he intends to demand it? The Lord of the Ascendant and the Moon are his Significators, the Lord of the 2nd House of his substance. The 7th House, and the Lord thereof signify him or her of whom he intends to demand or borrow Money: In proceeding to Judgment, See if the Lord of the Ascendant or the Moon be joyned to the Lord of the 8th, who is Lord of the Substance of the party quesited after, or see if either of them joyned, or in aspect to a Planet posited in the 8th; if the Planet in the 8th be a fortunate, or the aspect itself fortunate, he shall obtaine the money desired; or if he would borrow the money required will be lent him: If he have deposited any Pledge, it will be restored, whether the fortunate Planet in the 8th be received or not; yea, if an infortunate Planet in the 8th, or Lord of the 8th, and receive either the Lord of the Ascendant or the Moon, the Querent shall obtaine his desire; but if no reception be, he will hardly or ever procure his demands, and if ever, with so much difficulty and labour, as he would rather wish the thing had been undone. In like manner, if the Lord of the 8th be in the 1st, or in the 2nd, and the Lord of the 2nd receive him, it's probable the businesse will be effected; but is the Lord of the 7th, or of the 8th be in the lst or 2nd, and neither have reception of the Lord of the lst or 2nd House, or of the Moon, it's an argument he shall not have his desire accomplished, but shall receive a deniall or more prejudice in the thing demanded. If the Lord of the Ascendant and the Moon be joined to a Fortune that has Dignity in the Signe ascending, or Signe intercepted in the Ascendant, the matter will be effected; or if any of them be joyned to an Infortune who hath dignity in the Ascendant, and that Infortune receive the Lord of the Ascendant or the Moon, the business will be dispatched: Or if the Lord of the Ascendant or the Moon be joyned to a fortunate Planet, and he well placed either in the lOth or llth, the matter shall be perfected, though there be no reception: The Judgments of this Chapter shall have place and prove true, when as the matter in question is amongst ordinary persons, or with such people as with whom there is a community, as Citizens with Citizens, Countrymen with Countrymen, one Tradesman with another; from this Judgment we exempt Kings, Princes, Noblemen and such, who pay Debts slowly, and on whom the Law takes little notice. 4 by Jupiterrising Thank you Amelia. If we look at 2 and 8 th house, the Moon is not translating light from Mercury to Jupiter. It conjuncts the antiscia of Venus before that. At first I thought you took 8th for the money made because it's a consultation business. I wonder which house Astrologers use for the money made from their consultation business, both in person and online. Is it the 8th? I am not starting an astrology consultation, I am just curious because the rules for any consultation business should be the same. My business is not a one on one consultation. I have seen people use the 11th to asses the money from the business, I am not sure where Lily mentions that because I haven't read his book. Even with the 11th as the money made from business, it doesn't seem good because the translation is via opposition without receptions. Moon exalts Jupiter but Jupiter is in Moon's detriment. Moon is in Saturn's detriment and Saturn is in no dignity of Moon. Moon trines Mars but Moon is in Mar's fall. The receptions aren't good and the aspects aren't good as well. I hate that my significator is retrograde. Like Saturn as a significator wasn't bad enough already. No matter which way we look at this chart, it doesn't look positive, isn't it? Thank you for your analysis and also for taking the time to post excerpts from Lily's book. Much appreciated! Quote Tue Jun 23, 2020 5:07 pm
by AmeliaS An antiscion is not a planet. It is a calculated shadow point. It does not have mass or light in itself. It can't get in the way of two planets and cut off their lights. Just as we can't say the part of fortune prohibits anything. I've yet to see any text that says an antiscion prohibits. If I understand Lilly correctly, it doesn't matter it's one-to-one or one-to-1000. As long as you're selling something, and your target customer is basically everyone ("countrymen and citizens") and not exclusively the military generals and the kings, it's House 7/8. House 7 can be a lover and it can be an army and it can be your clientele all the same. Individual or group doesn't make a difference. It only matters who they are to you. In this case, the other end of a business deal. For advisors and consultants, a strong House 9 is always an advantage because it means their knowledge is sound, but that doesn't guarantee monetary success. That's a House 7/8 matter. 6 by AmeliaS I have seen people use the 11th to asses the money from the business, I am not sure where Lily mentions that because I haven't read his book. I started my previous post with the answer to this Lilly does not consider House 11 general business benefits. When he uses House 11, he says: it's favours (wages, profits) from the noblemen. Or any Great person, which means your boss in the present days. Clients aren't considered to be in that position no matter how much we might put them on a pedestal. When Lilly uses House 8, he also makes a disclaimer: for this house, profits from the kings and noblemen are excluded. That's why there is nothing ambiguous here. The nature of the business doesn't matter. It's who you do business with, and whether or not you're being put under another person's command. A consultant isn't an employee; I can't order you around to run my errands. I procure your advice, our business starts there and ends there, and we are equals, that's it. 7 by Ouranos Hello Jupiterrising, Your chart is more on the electional side than Horary but for any business no matter what, you want to have as many Angular planets as possible, even more so your significators. Your only angular planet here is Venus R and you start a consultation business. 1) A business = competition and you need the Angularity to perform and preferably in Cardinal signs. Look at the charts of famous people and you will find Angularity all over. 2) Next, you need as many planets above the Horizon because you deal with the outside world. 3) Saturn R in the 12th - Moon in 6th - Sun about to enter the 6th - Mars in Pisces (Mutable) - Sounds more like a secret agency or pharmaceutical company. 4) As for the 2nd/8th House The 2nd is your finances Jupiter R in the 12th and the 8th is the outside financing, credit and loans, taxes and insurances Mercury R in the 6th. I wish you all the best and do your own judgment on your chart, Kind regards, Ouranos Blessings! Quote Wed Jun 24, 2020 11:13 pm
by maggie Hi - I don't think you're being overly optimistic. Taking into account what you and others have said … I'd like to comment - a) The question is a horary question - if the querent was wanting to know "when should I start my business?" then, an event or election chart would make sense. I don't believe that's the case here. b) A business is regarded as an entity - as a thing that is separate from the owner, the CEO or whatever. If you have registered some name or other as "a business" then I would use the date of registering (or whatever you do in the US) as the event chart to see if it will be successful. c) The Consulting that the querent and others on her behalf will do makes more sense as being her own. Will she herself be successful? Is money going to come to her (or not)? That’s the essence of the query here. Sure, L1 is retrograde but not forever. Saturn will station and go direct later in the year and move back into Aquarius where it has a high level of strength because it's in its own Sign. This means the self discipline and strengths of structure etc (all those things that Saturn is good at) will come into play. What’s more, Jupiter will be there to help Saturn (in the future, when Jupiter moves into Aquarius as well and where it is participating in its own Triplicity - giving it a degree of strength and helpfulness.) Both these facts are helpful pointers in the chart into the future. d) Jupiter, ruling the querent's 2nd House is also important because money always is - either from a business or even as an astrologer or anyone else running a start up business. If L8 applies to L1 or L2 in a negative aspect or with very negative reception ... then you should worry : L8 = Loss and anxiety. When Jupiter comes into Aquarius it will be participating in its Triplicity too and will help Saturn. Here, L2 Jupiter (when it goes Direct again) will be applying to conjoin Saturn. (Check out dates from an ephemeris.) e) Fortuna and its signifier are also well worth noting in questions like this, as is the ruler of the 5th and 11th (querent’s hopes and wishes & networks) and 5th for general good ‘luck’ - because fortuitous luck in starting a business is also relevant sometimes. Are there good aspects? Helpful reception? f) The 12th ruler signifies secret or hidden enemies and here it is ruled by both Jupiter and Saturn. When these two heavyweight planets turn around and move forward, they will be helpful because they will be moving into the Querent’s first house of the horary. g) Check out Aquarius in your own natal chart. Which House will Saturn and Jupiter be transiting in your natal as this year progresses and into 2021? I don’t like Neptune in the 2nd House. This can be fraud or general self deluding. h) List all the positives in the chart and the negatives. More of one or the other? Look carefully at your business plan, projections and start up capital, remembering no chart is ever going to be perfect. Is there a reasonable chance of success? Moon is not applying to oppose Saturn. It is opposing Jupiter (your $) but that would be what you’d expect wouldn’t it, at the start up of a busines venture? Moon is applying to a trine with MC and Mercury is just separating from a trine to MC. If I were your astrologer, I would take the precaution of asking some more questions that I’ve raised here but, at a quick glance it looks as if you have a reasonable chance of success. I hope you have good luck! _____ MaggieB. Quote Thu Jul 16, 2020 5:17 am
