Could someone take a look at this one for me? I don't want to give away too much, but the situation did not develop the way that I expected.

I hate that kind of 20-20 hindsight where any chart can be made to fit an outcome that has already ocurred. This situation makes me lose faith in this whole process or in my own abilities.

Withoug prejudicing anyone, can they give their reading of what will happen in this situation?

I'll take a crack at it, though it'll be a bit different since I use Alchabitius instead of Regiomontanus.

Mercury and the Moon is your friend, the glasses I'm giving to the Sun as ruler of the 4th and that they are for the eyes. Sun is in the 12th, in Taurus, so perhaps the glasses are stuck on the floor somewhere, perhaps in a garage or some upstairs attic/storage room. Obviously, this has taken a while to come to light, but he did eventually get the glasses. The Moon leaving Aquarius and entering Pisces while conjuncting Mars probably has more to do with the querent really wanting his glasses and being real brassed off about not finding them then anything, but after that its next aspect is a sextile to the Sun, so he finds the glasses. I'd figure he'd find them in about 2 weeks from when the question was asked. Has your friend found them yet?

Here's the situation. I concentrated on the Moon's past contacts, first with Mercury then with Venus. I felt sure that Venus held the key to the situation. I interpreted Venus to represent a person. Venus rules the 6th house so I guessed that it was someone trying to serve or to help my friend who moved his glasses for him and forget where they put them. I also said that the glasses probably would not be found because there was no applying aspect between the Moon and Mercury. I was stumped about what to do with the out-of-sign applying conjunction of the Moon and Mars, which rules the 12th.

Here's how it turned out. My friend found his glasses in pocket of the pair of pants he wore that day. They were in a huge pile of laundry that he just got to two weeks after the funeral.

So I look back at the chart and now I think I see that Venus was indeed the key point, but it didn't represent a person, but an item of clothing. Venus is in Taurus, which as a fixed sign shows that it is holding onto the glasses. Does that make sense? Or more importantly, would anyone have said that before I told them this first? In the first chapter of John Frawley's The Real Astrology he gives a case where Venus in Taurus represents a woman?s purse, as it's a feminine object that holds things (fixed sign). So a purse wouldn't be appropriate in this situation, but a pants pocket would be.

But could the Moon applying out-of-sign to Mars show that he'd find them in two weeks, as he did? The Moon is two degrees from Mars, which rules the 12th, which is where Venus is.

My real question here is, is this new interpretation valid and if so, how do I know when a planet, say Venus, represents a person based on it's house rulership and when does it represent it's natural things of rulership, i.e., clothing, etc.?

The Moon?s last aspect is expected to show how something has come to be missing. You can obviously rule out certain of these themes ? if he hasn?t been into a bedroom, scratch that; if he hasn?t been near a fountain likewise. You just work through what remains. The ?contact with a young woman? suggestion is always likely to remain a sensible suggestion because there are very few circumstances where there is no female contact. So all you can do is check it out ? if it doesn?t lead you anywhere, scratch it.

Neptune culminates in the chart so you can build upon the element of forgetfulness or confusion. (You can check this out against indications of theft or attack from other people.) Frankly I?m not surprised you struggled with this because you?d assume that the first thing anyone would do when they?ve lost their glasses is check the clothes they were wearing at the time. If they haven?t undertaken that much responsibility to locate their missing goods, I don?t think you should beat yourself up that you can only see the answer in hindsight. I would be quite annoyed if someone asked me to do a horary like this, where the missing item was in their pocket all along.

My friend did look everywhere in the room for the glasses. I was with him and saw that he put a lot of time in looking first. I only agreed to do the question after three days of this.

My real question is given the fact that none of the significator's apply, would anyone have said that there is a good chance of him finding them? And this was not a situation of "you'll find them with difficulty", it was "you'll find them eventually", which is a big difference. He was going to find them the next time he did the laundry, which was two weeks in this case.

Just to clarify, I took the two weeks from the Moon's application to the Sun, which occurs after the conjunction to Mars, though it is clear now that both show the proper timing. I judged it that way since I figured Mars just didn't matter to the question, though I suppose that maybe Mars relates to the initial aggressive search and then failure(Mars ruling the 12th) of the querent to find the glassess. Did something Martial/12th house happen to the querent 2 days after the question?

Venus ruling the Sun show the clothes "dominating" the glasses I suppose.
