The father could surely have realised that he had problems, and just walked away? The mother sounds more complex.

Edit: The article says of the child, Ellie "she was born on 30 December 2006" Her Sun and Mars are very badly aspected, so in reply to the question of this thread, it looks as though maybe even if her father who killed her had disappeared from her life, she would have drawn to her another man, father-substitute, who would have treated her in the same way, and even if the judge had ordered Ellie to be removed from her biological father, it looks likely that whoever took over her care would treat her in the same way.

This reminds me of the case of the child Lauren Wright, born 16th July 1993 in Welwyn Garden City, Herts, who died on 6th May 2000 at the hands of her stepmother. Her story is told in detail in the book "Parents who Kill", by Carol Anne Davis.

Amen to that! Think how different our family relationships would be if our education systems taught us that we choose our parents and that we have conflicts to work out, aiding our own spiritual development. There is so much resentment and even hate as children blame their parents for all kinds of their misfortune. Of course the blame can go the other way as well.
