And both Venus and Mars get stuck between Pluto and Saturn. I'd say that all points to a longish period of Extreme Tension.

But in this case Saturn in 7th "house of enemy", great malefic, representing Russian Federation, the enemy of Ukraine in horary - another evidence that horary is radical...

Also Mercury with Pluto in this chart representing mass media and propaganda, intelligence, but almost last degree of sign, which might be significator of news and intelligence reports which are not valid, speculative, baseless, etc.

I wonder if allies somehow take a resource from the enemy or use a resource against them and that is what Jupiter represents in the 8th. I wouldn't so much say that Moon translates light of Jupiter to Mars as I would say Moon takes on Mars via the Jupiter trine aspect. Moon-Mars opp shows the conflict and the separating Jupiter trine is how Moon takes on the battle between the two planets. I would give Moon as the co sig for the ascendant lord and represent the querent/their home land.

The interesting thing also about Jupiter that its exalting at 12th cusp and where Moon is and Jup. also ruling 9th house of foreign countries while sitting in 8th which is 12th house from 9th. So, a lot is going on behind the scene, clandestine operations of Ukraine's and other countries(allies) forces.
But all this diplomatic staff of many countries leaving Ukraine or moving to the west part create some panic or provoking Russia with temptation to take advantage of weakness...
Also many experts pointing that epicenter not in Ukraine but in Mediterranean Sea region where US aircraft carrier and support warships are in standoff with Russian warships which were gathering for months from all Russian regions. Looks like the world on the brink of WW3...

If I had asked a horary about the prospects of WWIII, I would expect more clear indication of that happening. I didn't ask the question though and I do think charts primarily communicate with the astrologer who asked the question.

So, both the US and UK say Russia's order to deploy troops to eastern Ukraine amounts to the "beginning of an invasion", according to the BBC.

What happened is that Russia recognised the "independence" of two regions in eastern Ukraine, then put her (Russia's) troops inside those "independent countries"...

Although I was quite sure there would be military action due to the Moon-Mars opposition, I would never have predicted it done in this manner, i.e. to call parts of Ukraine independent then occupy those parts...

In response, some countries have announced "measures" or sanctions against Russia.

I'm very sorry about the way this is going down, Yuriy. I genuinely have wanted you and I to be wrong. I have Ukrainian friends, too.

Jupiter is dignified, yes, but it is combust. This must have turned its nature a bit. And Jupiter is known for "expansion"... And then it is in a bad house. I begin to wonder if this essential dignity of Jupiter in Pisces is Russia's attempt to try to look good. Or that the whole world has really misinterpreted the intention of this expansion (?!). You got Mars in Capricorn in the first chart, too. That didn't change my judgment but puzzled me.

Actually, I'm not sure you needed a second chart. The situation to me hadn't changed all that much. The threat was there when you asked the first time; the same threat was there when you asked the second time. Russia has now finally acted upon the threat, after your two charts, but I'm not sure it's a good idea to pull yet another now.

The mundane forum here on Skyscript has a thread or two about Ukraine. Maybe we can look there.

Some clarifications, technically there is NO INVASION YET, since Russian regular troops didn't cross front line at Donetsk-Luhansk separatist's regions and other Ukrainians borders.
There is potential threat because Putin declared recognition of DNR and LNR within their administrative borders, but Ukrainian armed forces liberated 2/3 of those regions and initially we thought Putin recognized separatist's region within actual borders, at front line where military forces standoffs.
So, Putin practically just LEGALIZED Russian army presence there, because actually separatist's army was staffed with Russian officers and some mercenaries.
That's what I meant by "situation changed", but there is no BIG invasion yet.
