James, part of my preferring the 9:30/9:35 birth time was looking at transits for key events in Russia's 2014 invasions of Crimea and the Donbas region.

Normally I am not a big fan of pegging rising signs to physical appearance, but tell me if these photos of a young Putin look more Libra, Scorpio, or something else. I'd say Scorpio. Also think about Putin's KGB background. It fits very well with a Gemini (info-gathering) moon in the 8th house.

i have tropical scorpio rising - sidereal scorpio rising too, lol... 3 of the 5 immediate members of my family are scorpio rising, and my wife and step daughter are also all tropical scorpio rising.. my own view on trying to nail down a persons chart with appearance is probably the weakest way to arrive at a conclusion on the rising sign.. i would put more emphasis on a planet rising, then a sign rising.. i suppose this is part of the reason why i like the chart with mercury rising close to the angle for the 846am chart i use for putin.

aside from bills astute observation on the putins nodal axis dynamics in this time frame, what do you have to explain the russian invasion on feb 24th off your particular chart for putin? also, are you able to make any prediction off this chart into the future that you'd be comfortable to share? thanks..

In late March/April I suggested above that the lunar nodes axis at 19 Leo-Aquarius in Putin's birth chart, with Pluto close by at 23 Leo, has loomed large in the unfolding story of the Russo-Ukraine war.

I focused on transits of Saturn to this combination from 2007 to the early stages of the 2022 invasion of Ukraine. I mentioned the interesting coincidence that Putin's Mars had progressed to conjunct his lunar north node at the time of the invasion.

For me, the lunar nodes axis carries significance for the theme of unfolding destiny, and whichever way you look at it, this unfolding is surely happening for Putin during 2022/23.

Currently, and until the end of the year, Saturn is back where it was at the time of the invasion, conjunct his lunar north node, while the progressed Mars is still within orb of its conjunction to the same degree.

But there is a new addition in the mix. Uranus at 19 Taurus is now also square Putin's lunar nodes axis. Last Spring I described this overall combination of factors as worrying.

The Uranus transit has coincided with Putin's indirect acknowledgement that his 'special military operation' is not going to plan (not surprisingly, given the earlier Saturn transits), so he has decided to change tack. He has called up '300,000 reserves' to send into Ukraine while rattling his nuclear option sabre. His crazy plan has just got crazier.

The Saturn transit to his lunar nodes fades out in November.
The Saturn transit opposite his Pluto ends in early January.
The Uranus transit square his destiny-laden lunar nodes axis ends in March-April.
Just when that is happening, Neptune will square his natal Mars by transit for the first time, suggesting a period when his militarist tendencies will either diffuse or be subverted.

So, if Putin is the key figure for determining Russia's policy in Ukraine, things may develop rapidly during the next three or four months towards some sort of ending, not only for the war, but also 'Putinism'.

Indeed Putins nodal axis is of extreme interest here. As mentioned with Transiting Saturn on the North Node with Progressed Mars there as well.

The pretext of the invasion was the publication of an article by Putin in summer 2020 (12th july 2020), where he describes the Ukraines nonstatus as a nation and so forth.

That very day 12th july 2021 there was a triple conjunction transit on 18' Leo On Putin's degree of his South Node.

These positions on Putins South Node mirrors the article's theme of Putin going into the past history (south node) of rulership (Leo). Leo is also a sign that is present in a lot of the Mundane charts for Russia. It also is may be a bad omen for going forward with this theory in a military sense as Mars the planet of war and aggression on the point of the South node which is in traditional astrology a point of decrease.
