I've had this written in my packed (ha) social schedule for weeks... been looking forward to it as I'm hoping to be introduced to at least one new person who's been taking a Kabbalah course with a family friend - i.e. interested in esoteric things as I am and of the male persuasion... BUT I've recently met a guy who I'm really tempted to go and stay with that weekend, 4 hours' drive away... (he works in the week - how thoughtless of him!)

The trouble I'm having with the chart is that I'm getting my significators all mixed up... The basic thrust of the question is, Will I have a good time at the party and meet someone new?

Lord 1 is Jupiter at 9 Scorpio
Lord 5 (the party) is Venus at 27 Gemini

From this reception it's not looking good as the party hates me (in detriment of Jupiter) and I hate it (in detriment of Venus). If we include the Moon as my feelings, then I hate the party doubly as she too is in the detriment of Lord 5

I'm not sure where to go next - would the 7th house show the people I might meet at the party? Or do I need to turn the chart, say take the 7th from the 5th? Although this seems too elaborate, violating the very important rule of KISS...

If I side-step this entirely and take the 5th to show the party in general and the 7th to show the guy I want to visit, then he is shown by Mercury R at 26 Cancer. This is more promising as Lord 7 is in my exaltation, showing he likes me and therefore that hopefully I'll have a good time visiting him! Unless this shows the person I may meet at the party...

The Moon applies to trine Saturn (Lord 2), which doesn't seem relevant here. The only aspect I can see is that Lord 5 (Venus) will trine Lord 1 (Jupiter) when she eventually changes sign into Cancer... but the party's on Saturday so I can't see this being relevant either.

I'm mixed up about this, as you can tell. Any pointers?

I am curious about the result... did you go the party ? What were the results ?
I don?t like parties and I never found somebody new really interesting (or interested in me for that matter, hehehee), but I hope you have been more lucky :-)

I went to the party after all and it was awful, just as the chart predicted! Hardly anyone turned up and there was no-one to talk to. I ended up being cornered by a rather frightening Kabbalist (Moon/Pluto/Sun grand trine in Air) and being cross-examined about astrology for two hours. Not a pleasant experience!

I've done this once before... did a chart for going to a nightclub and the chart was so awful I just had to go, to find out if I was right or not. And it WAS awful! I won't bore you with the details!

That'll teach me to doubt the veracity of good ol' astrology!

But now I have a pretty good idea of how to judge this kind of chart - if Lord 5 and Lord 7 hate you, take the hint and just stay home!
