Astrodienst to close its forum 1 by waybread Alois Triendl recently made this announcement. https://forum.astro.com/cgi/forum.cgi?num=1671555969/0 I would encourage anyone who actively participates on that forum, or who knows of an alternative institutional affiliation, to make your ideas known. One individual has stepped forward with an offer to adopt the forum, but Alois has clarified that Astrodienst is looking for an organization/institutional aegis for it. Astrodienst's other products and services are to continue. I have encouraged Astrodienst members who participate on that thread to join the Skyscript forum. 2 by james_m thanks waybread... a friend mentioned this to me a few days ago... i wonder if skyscript is in a similar position and in need of an overhaul? going on memory, i recal paul and mark talking about how the format for skyscript is fairly antiquated.. i hope skyscript can continue as i enjoy the outlet and continue to benefit from it.. i wonder if it is going to get swamped with new arrivals from the astrodienst website? for whatever reason i was never able to post at that site, and as a consequence, i never got involved with it.. In the near future we shall publish a list of places they can migrate to. We have decided to close this forum for writing (also for PM writing) at the end of January 2023.
