During the past week, we have been witnessing a Mercury Promethean Retrograde phase turning Direct... while stationing quincunx to a Retrograde Mars turning Direct.
Mercury and Mars at standstill at the same time forming a quincunx.
In the actual context the quincunx was stationing in the midpoint Mercury/Mars = Neptune

Does it feel like which way to go? Are you missing information? Is something being hidden to you to make a clear decision?

This midpoint formula makes me think of religious crusades. Fighting for something otherworldly or committing to something without a real plan or solution.

As Mercury speeds up and moves away from Neptune in the midpoint, we can start making sense again and recover our timing to go forward. Hopefully!

what's interesting is mercury-mars are the outer planets of the bundle that spans about 150 degrees.. in sidereal both planets are in their opposite sign of rulership.. based on my adding and subtracting - i don't have solar fire on this computer - i get saturn at 0 aquarius at the midpoint of the 2 in detriment planets... this idea of the planets all bunched together like that might be marc edmund jones picture of a bundle type chart.. i can't remember, its been so long since i read his work.. but aside from the more focused energy of the bundle, it is also lacking in objectivity which is more associated with oppositions.. a more driven type energy if you will is what this pattern suggests...

if a person was a indian astrologer siderealist fanatic, they might think this is all about saturn in the last degrees of capricorn and having just gone into aquarius... apparently a planet in the last degrees of the signs is very weak and you know what a weak saturn means, lolol!

James: since you consider Indian astrologers as siderealist fanatics that exhibit lazy, self critical and depressed traits I would also point out in a melancholy way that Mercury was under a double affliction, by Mars as mentioned, but also by transiting Rahu. LOL

hey! i forgot about those pesky 8th house aspects that mars casts, and who cares about rahu-ketu? lol... rahu shamu and ketu freaku..

The idea of a bundle is 'self-contained energy'... Mumbling to yourself!
Ebertin says of Mercury/Mars=Neptune
'Speaking without acting, not keeping of promises. Hopeless plans. The tendency to harm others through falsehood or underhanded behavior."
And Neptune is conjunct Fixed Star Markab of the nature of Mercury/Mars.

In itself, Mercury/Mars calls for decisive action, putting your mind at work with a goal. Neptune in the midpoint says it may end up in the mud.

Always interesting to watch when planets station with the slow motion of Outer planets. It's pressing the button somewhere.

thanks ouranos.. i did the math in my head wrong.. it is neptune at the last degree of aquarius sidereal at the midpoint, or very close to the midpoint...

know you those hamburger school folks were all fairly dark and dismal types.. a lot of the midpoints in ebertin's book cosi are pretty dark generally... i guess this goes with the idea that all the outers are bad mojo unless you are a spiritual guru living in the mountains in the himalayas... maybe living in germany in the first half of the 20th century wasn't all that peachy and it got reflected in their ruminations.. speaking of which, i want to do a thread on germany... i still haven't got round to it.. cheers..
