germany 1871 chart - sidereal chart

there are too many charts for germany! it makes it more challenging to comment on... in doing some research on this, i happened to discover some commentary on skyscript about some of this, although links that used to work are no longer working and etc. etc. as well...

so, i have decided to just focus on one chart at a time, beginning with the chart i have for germany for 1871... 0 am, jan 1st, 1871 berlin.. this chart is shown below.

Image

here is a comparison chart with the transits on the outside wheel..

Image

the first thing i notice is all the planets in transit are in the western hemisphere of the chart suggesting that germany is at the mercy of others here.. this implies they are not independent or in control of there fate at this moment, or if so, only in a limited fashion... perhaps belonging to the european union comes with some benefits, as does being a part of nato, but if i just go on this hemisphere emphasis, this is what i get.. a number of individuals in the military - ex military) also suggest this... for consideration of these viewpoints, i am sharing some links.. the first link was given in february 2022 - feb 14th, slightly before the russian invasion on feb 22nd which makes it especially prescient..

https://www.unz.com/mwhitney/the-crisis ... t-germany/

there was a nato meeting on jan 20th that precipitated an observation which i think is also very relevant to germanys situation here at present and reflected in the chart transits for the moment .. a key issue of the meeting was the idea of germany sending tanks to ukraine, but wanting the usa to also send tanks to the usa.. i don't believe this has been resolved yet.. it is clearly a riff in the dynamic of nato at present between germany- usa and others.. see an article from today on this issue of sending tanks -
https://www.wsj.com/articles/poland-for ... 1674558492

a very relevant comment i picked up on the weekend meeting of nato regarding this which i think fits into all this.. - "The NATO meeting seemed to be more about breaking Germany's back (or what's left of it), than helping Ukraine.

The new European order (Poland, Baltics, UK, Netherlands) wants to leverage the US (and vice versa) power to sideline Germany and in general the Franco-German axis within the EU. Germany and France are the only countries with real or potential weight to oppose US interests in Europe, therefore the idea must be cut out of them no matter the cost. A part of this is military dependency, and there's no better way to get there by disarming the already pitiful Bundeswehr. The Poles and the UK see this as their opportunity to become or stay relevant, respectively."

and lastly, an article on commentary from Retired Major General Harald Kujat

http://johnhelmer.net/german-general-ku ... to-russia/

one of the transits which stefan focused on in the previous thread on germany was the connection of uranus and pluto - 2 planets that support the idea of major challenges and turbulence in the chart for germany.. as memory serves stefan had focused on a primary direction involving the 2 planets for the 1990 chart used for germany.. one can see the transit of uranus to pluto in the above chart - aries to virgo ascendant which is a 8th sign to ascendant relationship, regardless of house systems one wants to emphasize.. but i think more importantly here is the upcoming eclipse charts to this chart, which i haven't analyzed yet... the north node transit is backing up to the same area of where the natal moon is in this 1871 chart, suggesting that the upcoming eclipses will have a direct impact on this chart on issues connected to the natal 8th house moon which rules over the 11th house..

there are a number of other interesting transits to this chart - jupiter conjunct descendant, mars now direct in the 9th house, mercury now direct - conjunct all the planets down at the bottom of the chart in the 4th house and etc. etc.. t neptune moving into a close opposition to mars, t pluto conjunct the ascendant ruler mercury, saturn moving thru the 6th sign/house, mars aspecting the 4th house via its 8th house aspect as emphasized in parashari indian astrology literature, and again - t uranus in the conjunction to natal pluto..

directly below is the solar return for the present time 2023...

Image

again - one can note the western hemisphere emphasis, as the rising sign in the 2023 solar return is the same as the rising sign of the natal chart.. my understanding is that when it is the same sign rising in the solar return chart to the natal chart, it becomes a more important and pivotal year... regardless, it reinforces much, but not all) of what i have tried to address in the transit data listed above...

just how germany moves forward here is anyone's guess.. the geopolitical and economic reality they are facing at present is very different then it was this time last year.. in 1 year things have changed radically for germany as i see it... i think germany is at a critical juncture in its history here and in its relationships to the world.. whether i am correct will only be known over the course of time... i will consider commenting more on this particular chart and also consider discussing the other charts for germany too.. thanks..

Hi James,
interesting. - Some people may wonder - why 1st January, 1871, why not 18th January 1871 (proclamation). Both charts yield interesting results. The chart of Jan. 1st is the "Reich" de iure, as it was decided that the new state came into being at midnight that day.
And, though it may surprise: Actually that state has never ceased to exist. After WW II the Allied governments made an end to Prussia by formally declared that it no longer existed (Febr. 1946). But they decided not to do so with the Reich itself. The main reason: They wanted a state that could be held responsible over the following years and decades. Actually the German Bundesverfassungsgericht - similar to the US Supreme Court - twice confirmed that the state that came into being in 1871 de iure still exists. So it's worthwhile having a closer look at the chart of Jan. 1st, 1871 - as you are doing. With interesting results...
-How do you make a sidereal solar? Doy ou take the original position of the Sun or do you account for the gradual moving forward of the Sun due to the changing of the ayanamsa?

Jumping in here for James, privately he said he wouldn't mind.

Solar returns in sidereal are the same as in tropical. You cast a chart for the Sun's natal position for the year in question.

To answer your question specifically, the ayanamsa or the difference between the tropical and sidereal zodiac is due to precession so in a manner of speaking, a sidereal solar return already has precession built into it, so no correction is needed.

Some tropical astrologers will apply a precession correction to the solar return Sun to set the timing of the solar return back to what they feel is the actual natal tropical Sun. This is often called a precessed solar return, but you must understand that this becomes a sidereal solar return that is just cast in tropical zodiacal longitude. This of course differs from a purely tropical solar return by the amount of precession for the year in question.

The timing differences between the tropical solar return without correction and a precessed solar return will be roughly 6 hours at year 18 and 12 hours by the 36th year and so on until at age 72, when it becomes 24 hours. The precessional rate of the ayanamsa is BTW, about 1 degree every 72 years.

I hope this answers your question.

thanks lunlumo... i appreciate your participation here.. i am curious if you would consider the same approach with regard to the chart for 4pm signing on may 23rd and the chart for implementation on 0 am may 24th 1949? this has come up in conversation and i am curious of your take on this.. it seems to me the chart for jan 1st 0 am 1871 is quite radical, but i also believe some of these other charts can be used for germany as well... also, do you have any particular attachment to any of these charts?

thanks aj!

much appreciated...

Thanks a lot AJ and James,

As to the charts for Germany - it's usually the one of May 24th, 0:00, Berlin, daylight saving time - AC around 10 degrees Capricorn. - For quite a long time the majority of astrologers over here prefered the chart of May 23rd, 1949, Bonn, AC around 17 Libra. But now there's a general agreement that the one of midnight May 24th is the correct one. The reason: what happened on May 23rd was the proclamation of the constitution (called Grundgesetz). But one of the last articles in that constitution clearly states that the new state would come into being the day following that proclamation. - Why Berlin, why not Bonn?
Well, Bonn was the seat of the government, actually it was never called the capital of the Federal Republic of Germany, although finally most people believed that, thinking there would never be any reunification. Things were quite tricky: According to the USA, GB, France and the USSR Berlin was not the capital of the new state, actually until 1990 it was not even part of the Federal Republic of Germany - whereas it was accepted that the eastern part of Berlin was the capital of the GDR. But in 1949 re-unification still seemed probable, so for the western part of Germany Berlin at that time went on being the de iure capital. And, as the last article of the Grundgesetz said: The new constitution was meant to include the whole nation, including the eastern part. Even after the founding of the GDR in October 1949 that article was not deleted.
I personally think that the chart of May 24th is the one to be preferred .
However, as I mentioned above, the chart of Jan. 1st, 1871, Berlin should also be taken into account.

thanks lunlumo

i appreciate hearing your perspective from germany.... do any of the german astrologers have a chart for some of the present leadership?? i have a day chart for Annalena Baerbock, but nothing specific.. astrotheme is giving a 3pm birth time for olaf scholz... have you looked at either of these charts any? any thoughts if so?? thanks - james

Hi James,
actually only the chart of the present Chancellor is known - and I'm not so sure whether that's really correct. An astrologer asked Scholz last year or the year before that, and Scholz said 15:00, June 14, 1958, Osnabrück.
That chart has Jupiter conj. AC - but I do not think Scholz is a man with a lot of dynamic idealism. However, there's a trine SUN - JU. But a saturnine influence seems to be dominant: SA opp. SUN, SAT rules the year and the day - and, providing 15:00 is OK, the SA even rules the hour (I think, these rulers should never be irgnored.). In any case SA seems to exert a very strong influence. Scholz doesn't talk much, he can wait ("Time is on my side..."), it took him months before he finally agreed to send German tanks into the Ukraine...
A good view on his chart: https://www.andrea-bschlangaul.de/horos ... af-scholz/ - of course, I know, only a few people spek German...

hi lunlumo

thanks so much for the overview and link to an astrological article from him by this astrologer in germany... it is easy to translate and i just finished reading it.. thank you..

one thing i picked up is that helmut schmidt was an important influence on scholz.. i have looked at the synastry and can see some obvious compatibility between the charts, although it doesn't really help me with regard to a more specific time for olaf scholz..

i may share of my insights on his chart in the coming week if i can find some time.. i am mostly impressed with the fairly close sun opposite saturn in his chart.. as i am looking at his chart in sidereal, it looks different then what was presented on the link you provided... as it turns out sidereal virgo is rising, which means that the sun-saturn opposition rules the 12/6 house axis.. this is a difficult set up as i see it.. i believe the opposition of sun-saturn and to a good degree of strength also the mercury-saturn opposition which involves the ascendant ruler of virgo - mercury, gives much merit to the saturnine energy people pick up about olaf scholz.. i see that the eclipse charts this year will be impinging his natal neptune which happens to be conjunct the south node rising as well.. i will have to look at this more and comment on it as soon as i get a chance.. thanks so much! james

Hi James,
I see, I should have a closer look at the sidereal chart(s)....
By the way: What Ayanamsa do you take? And: Do you also include the Vedic Dasas when analysing a chart, e.g. the Vimsottari-systemX?:
As to Schmidt - Scholz: there's a strong Hamburgian influence. Schmidt was born in Hamburg where he was a Senator for interior affairs (In 1962, Febr., it was due to his effective strategy and quick decisions that the worst could be avoided: when the city was hit by a bad flood, killing hundreds of people. A very realistic person (Schmidt: "People having visions should see a psychiatrist." :brows )
Schmidt: (tropical) Sun Capricorn, AC Virgo, Moon as well. Scholz was the Mayor of Hamburg, before becoming a minister in Berlin and Chancellor after that - and he was quite successful in managing his Hamburg-job.

thanks for the additional info on these political leaders of germany lunlumo!

i use krisnamurti ayanamsa... i do look at the vimsottari dasa system too and think it is important, but it becomes tricky with older charts as the system is based on 120 year cycle... however, it supposedly repeats.... i plan on doing a post on olaf scholz and i was thinking of doing it on this thread, to maintain some continuity with what has been discussed to date.. however, i have been too busy to get to it.. hopefully monday i can put something down in the form of a post here.. cheers james
