i don't have easy access to look at all the eclipse charts, but this total lunar eclipse nov 8th 2022 - 1:01:56pm to same place has a lot of direct connections to the event chart.. here is a biwheel with event on the inside and eclipse data on the outside..

I read in my Carter Raphael and Green book that eclipses in cardinal signs
produce their effects quickly and are soon over. The eclipse in your chart was in Aries.

The alleged duration of the effects of a an eclipse dates back to Ptolemy

'The effect will endure ass many years as the obscuration lasted hours, provided the eclipse was solar; but if lunar, a like number of months is to be reckoned instead of years' (Ptolemy's Tetrabiblos, II, VII)

The question here is therefore - how many hours did this lunar eclipse last? Apparently, it lasted 1 hour 25 mns.

On this basis, perhaps it did not have much of an impact on the Larisa event? M Orr did not really interpret. My guess is the effect of the eclipse is just a throw-away sentence, used for some mundane events, whether it applies or not. Ah well..

there are a lot of theories and speculations and no one really knows as i see it... but if you like relying on what someone said and using it as a guideline - that is up to you! here is a link that mark offered on eclipses that you might enjoy watching... and fwiw, i haven't exhausted this avenue, but my hands are partly tied, as i don't have solar fire on this computer at present.. the morinus software i do have, is much more limited in generating eclipse charts.. cheers james

Thanks James for link, I had noticed it before and will watch it, although I usually prefer reading, as it is easier to use as a reference. And it is easier to go back to. The Mundane astrology literature is not as huge as the psy astrology literature and tend to focus on cycles.

You mention 'if you like relying on what someone said and using it as a guideline' I think it would be a bit difficult to practise astrology without looking at what earlier astrologers have said, don't you? I don't think astrology is just about presenting charts, it is also about interpretation. So if someone says a recent eclipse had an impact, they should be ready to say which eclipse and why they think it had an impact (what theory informs their belief).

I can't remember whether this forum offers dates of eclipses, but other fora do. Anyway, it is quite easy to google eclipses for a particular period.

you brought up eclipse data ( and how important is it?), and frankly it was a pain in the ass to look at a few of them, and then you kind of disappointed me in your response which was immediately dismissive! of course we all need to listen and appreciate what others have to say.. that goes without saying.. but ultimately each of us individually have to do the work ourselves and come to conclusions on our own... that is the hard part and that is the part i am trying to emphasize with you... i might look more closely at this topic because it interests me as it relates to this event., i have looked at this before - most notably the eclipse data prior to 911, but it has been a while! but of course you could do the same and share your work here too!! no one is preventing you from doing this, and i am quite curious... cheers james

My comment about the eclipse of course referred to M Orr's contention. I do not go along with her assertion that an eclipse had anything to do with it. I wanted another opinion.

Of course we are all quite free to believe what we want and to research the way we want. And then to converse, if the art still exists...

i reviewed marjorie orrs post again.. i find her post problematic for a few reasons! he has a time that is 10 minutes out and uses a different location for the event... that's the first thing... then she references the recent solar eclipse as having a connection via pluto and uranus to the ascendant and ic of some chart..

here is the solar ecliipse she is referencing.. oct 25th, 2022, 12:48:30 local time for Evangelismos Larisis



there are some obvious connections.. one is the ascendant 16 libra 35 in the train crash is the same as the midheaven for the solar eclipse - 16 libra 47.. the nodal axis is closely connected in both charts... position of saturn in the SE chart is 24 cap 30 which is conjunct the ic of the SE chart at 24 capricorn 41.... there might be other connections...

now, whether you or i, or marjorie think there is a direct connection off this solar eclipse in oct 2022 to this event on feb 28th 2023 - is very subjective.. in looking at the solar map for the eclipse, it doesn't seem to be especially connected to this location... i am not seeing it myself.. obviously astrologers can make all sorts of connections which is why i am prone to say - hindsight astrology is 20/20... whether this connection has great bearing on the event itself - i don't know..

i am going to follow this up with an examination of some other eclipse connections to charts... i haven't done this is a long time, but have read a lot of the books on the importance of eclipses... and of course astrologers in the past put great weight and emphasis on them.. cheers james

- small note.. i see that yesterday there were large protests in greece over this event... hard to get news on greece, but this did come across my screen... i found that interesting and a bit of a motivation to want to look more closely at the charts for greece... here is the one that marjorie orr was using below... july 24, 1974 - 4am - athens.. sidereal zodiac..

About M Orr, I have notice a number of mistakes? crop up in her readings lately. I wonder whether the brand name has been sold off? Or whether mundane is not her strong point. Some astrologers who excell at psychological interpretations are sometimes not good at mundane. It requires a different mental framework.

This is not to say that mundane astrologers always get it right. I have a number of books on mundane, several written just before WWII, and predicting that no war would break out. It's good to keep it all in perspective. :)
