2 by Sinbad Thanks Mark for this post on Pluto in Aquarius. A lot of astrologers have commented on this forthcoming change and all seem to agree that there will be a 'paradigm shift'. This can mean anything- a move to more authoritarian regimes, more coordination between nations, a move to careful management of resources, etc. It can be for better, or for worse. Most astrologers mention technology. But it is not clear whether collectively we still believe that a new technological invention can resolve all our problems in one clean swoop. I sometimes wonder whether a paradigm shift has not already happened to a certain extent, as the notion of 'progress' (more of everything?) as we have understood it has been seriously challenged. Redefining progress as consuming less and preserving resources may be a difficult path, with power structures becoming diffuse in an air sign, and action protracted due to lack of cardinality; in other words a shift lacking in clarity. This is the ideal environment for corrupt and greedy hidden structures to thrive. Let us hope the current trend will not amplify. The last Pluto in Aquarius 1778-98 saw a lot of changes. This time, the issue of climate refugees may have to be tackled; the right to pastoral lifestyles; protection of the environment; a new look at the hyper-density of population in cities and the depopulation of rural areas; human rights, etc The Covid epidemic has shown up inequalities - for example in access to health care, housing, food. They are difficult to ignore. This is truly a huge agenda and I wonder how this can be done without an international legal framework being consolidated, and nations working together. Legal framework is not a specifically Aquarian concept, however. Even after 1798, the political environment took a while to settle down, so perhaps Aquarius is there to throw issues up in the air, without necessarily concretely helping to resolve them quickly and peacefully. On the positive side, Aquarius should help to conceptualize solutions. Quote Mon Mar 13, 2023 4:02 pm
