@Martin Gansten: Primary Directions with tropical zodiak?

(I hope this is the right place to ask. Because I think the question maybe a matter for others too I did not send a private message to Martin.)

I’m reading Martin Ganstens „Primary Directions??? and „Annual Predictive Techniques???. Martin, you write on page ii of „Primary Directions???:

As I am not familiar with the siderial zodiak I want to stay with the tropical. But in „Annual Predictive Techniques??? you use intensely the terms of signs respectively correspondent divisors. How to adapt this for a tropical zodiak? Shift the terms by an ayanamsa?

Yes, the only aspect of directions that changes with the zodiac is the term rulership (the divisors). My own experience consistently indicates that sidereal terms work better, so those are what I use. But the method is exactly the same if you use the tropical zodiac; you will get the same promissors but different divisors. I imagine that, with most software that offers the option, this will depend on you basic zodiac settings.

Actually, I do consider all natal indications when judging directions; and if you have, say, the MC directed to the sextile of Jupiter in the 1st, naturally there is a major difference between Jupiter being in domicile in Sagittarius as ruler of the Asc (sidereal) or in fall in Capricorn as ruler of the 12th (tropical). But the arc of direction -- that is, the time when the MC is directed to the sextile -- will be the same in either case.
