How is the huge success shown? (+ rectificat. David Gilmour) 1 by Georgius I recently came upon a book about the rock band Pink Floyd. It deals not only with the published music but also with the members and the history of the band which made them all multiple millionaires. Another subject is the trouble Roger Waters and David Gilmour had with each other. So I came upon the idea to compare their charts but I could not find a time of birth for Roger Waters and no dates for important events in his life to rectivy the birth chart. Anyway, as I compared the two charts I was astonished that I could not see the enormous success that both had. Gilmour’s Venus is under sun beams, Waters’ is even combusted (if it’s not Cazimi!!) and retrograde. Strange for artists I thought. Interesting that the sun is in opposition. Gilmours Jupiter (lord of house 2) is in the 12th house and retrograde. So where is the success? Here the charts with Placidus houses for Gilmour (on the outside): Roger Waters 6.9.1943, no time known Great Bookham 0°22' w, 51°16' n David Gilmour 6.3.1946, 23:00 (from astro.com) Cambridge 8°00' o, 52°13' n Last edited by Georgius on Sun Jul 30, 2023 9:59 pm, edited 2 times in total. 2 by james_m the chart for gilmour is rated C at adb.. https://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Gilmour,_David i have found the midpoint of jupiter-pluto sometimes points to great success.. reinhold ebertin seemed to think so too.. that is where i got the idea from.. the principle as articulated in cosi - combination of stellar influences is described thus - "the desire for power''... using tropical positions off a C rated chart means you can't consider the angles, arguably the most important part of the chart.. regarding gilmours chart - the jupiter- pluto midpoint is approx 18 virgo 12... the sun-venus midpoint is 19 pisces 49 - about a 1 1/2 degree difference... this puts the 4 planets on the same axis of approx 19 mutable.. additionally jupiter is in the solar 8th and in venus 8th house - a possible sign of wealth if correlated with other indicators.. that is all i have.. cheers.. 3 by Georgius Thank you for your kindly reply! The rating of "C" of Gilmour's chart is important, yes. The date of birth should be correct as I found in several sources. I will try to rectify this time of 23:00. Considering the midpoints is an interesting hint. I did not understand what the "solar 8th house" and the "venus 8th house" is. How to identify this? 4 by james_m thanks georgius, the concept of solar houses or planets in the houses of other planets using that planet as the first house is what i am doing here.. so jupiter in the solar 8th house means jupiter is in the suns 8th house... jupiter is also in venus's 8th house... another way to think of it is that jupiter and sun have a 6 / 8 th house relationship depending on whether you start from jupiter or sun as the beginning point.. here's another example of the use of this concept.... roger waters mars-saturn combo in gemini is in the 4th house of gilmours sun/venus combo in pisces... think of any sign as the 1st and then follow thru with the relationships with the other signs.. pisces to gemini makes gemini 4th house to pisces... pisces is 10th house to gemini.. i think these relationships have great relevance and are often overlooked, especially when one has an accurate birth time that relies heavily on the angles.. you can look at relationships between charts this way, or even within one particular chart.. hopefully you get some use out of the concept... it is most often used in indian astrology with the moon, and to a lesser extent with the sun... they will draw up charts with the moon on the ascendant and draw important insights via the relationships of the other planets to the position of the moon.. you can do this with all the planets... ----------- back to success - great success... it basically has to involve jupiter connections of some sort.. you can look for jupiter connections as it is the planet of great success.. here is another example of roger waters chart - sun/venus conjunction is at the midpoint of jupiter/mercury... this is an approximation given we don't have a birth time for him.. cheers james Quote Wed Jul 26, 2023 1:42 pm

This I did but I counted the sign of the sun as the first and the sign of Jupiter as the 9th. So I did not understand why you spoke of the 8th house of the sun. I’m still not really clear on how to count. Quote Wed Jul 26, 2023 2:23 pm
6 by james_m sun in pisces, jupiter in libra... pisces to libra - 8th... pisces to scorpio - is 9th.. signs in trine - 1 to 9.. maybe there is an easier way... understanding the relationship between the signs is probably the best way... aries to libra - 1 to 7... or libra to aries 1 to 7... that sort of way will help you get this idea of the term solar houses or moon houses as a starting point.. 7 by Georgius Ok, this is clear to me. When counting signs I get the same number. But counting houses in the chart above for David Gilmour I get 9 not 8. Quote Wed Jul 26, 2023 5:31 pm
8 by james_m the emphasis is on the signs, not the houses... it is the same in indian astrology methodology.. maybe calling them solar houses or lunar houses is confusing and i can see why.. Quote Wed Jul 26, 2023 5:46 pm
9 by Georgius Now I understand. Thank you for your interesting remarks! Quote Wed Jul 26, 2023 5:54 pm
10 by james_m thanks georgius the idea is much the same with whole sign houses - same idea.. the signs retain their importance and the houses are relegated to a less significant place in this particular system or approach.. houses are still very relevant, but the importance of the position of planets by sign is the dominant emphasis.. 11 by Georgius As I pronounced I tried to rectify the birth chart of David Gilmour. I only had five events in his life with full calendar dates (day, month, year), so the result is somewhat speculative but quite interesting and plausible. First a made a rough rectification by examining the moon and her possible aspects from transiting planets at the time of the events. The moon is between 14°49' and 29°19' Aries on Gilmours birthday according to GMT. I could narrow it down this way to 22°13' to 23°43' Aries. So it looked like the time of birth of 23:00 is not right. The corresponding ACs were 17°52' Cancer to 14°44' Leo. I thought Leo is more probable but otherwise a AC in Cancer sets Mars and Saturn on the AC and Sun and Venus on the MC! Because this looked interesting I inverstigated further with AC in Cancer and found that the lord of the 7th house could be in conjunction with the AC at the time of his first marriage. That sets AC to 21°27' Cancer and results in a birth time of about 12:34 GMT. Next I looked at the ancient technique of the Animodar and also it gave a Cancer-AC not Leo. Then I rectified by directing the MC to the dates of the same events using primary directions. I looked for aspects with planets that made sense in context of the events. That looked very good and resulted in a corrected time of birth narrow to 12:30 GMT. Again: I had too few data to be convinced completely but the chart looks plausible to me: Quote Sat Jul 29, 2023 12:36 pm
