Looks like our systems are at odds today Ouranos :(

Away Team - Challenger - Red Sox
  • L1 Jupiter (superior) retrograde (weak) in 15 Taurus (term and triplicity) in 5th (moderate strength)
  • Jupiter sep sextile Venus in 8th (accidents, injuries)
  • Jupiter applying to no one
  • 5th (team morale) critical at 29º AR, Mars (L5) in 10th (honor)
  • Mars (L5) and Jupiter in mitigated inconjunct in like engirding signs so power of opposition
Home Team - Defender - Blue Jays
  • L7 Mercury (inferior) in 8 Virgo in 9th (cadent=weak); plus its intercepted (needs the stress of events to bring it out, another weakness?)
  • Moon applying square Pluto in 2nd (Boston's reserves; team won't go away(?))
  • Mercury applying to trine Jupiter (L1)
  • Mars is L4 (Jay's 10th) and is in Boston's 10th (Boston controls Jays "honor")
  • 11th (Jays 6th ability to move base runners(?)) critical at 29º Libra, Venus in 8th (Jays 2nd teams reserves; not as much fight as Boston?)
Probable Outcome:
Giving the edge to Boston as Jupiter has the stronger position (succedent) versus Mercury (cadent) and Mars, as ruler of the 4th (Jays 10th), is in Boston's 10th; a debility according to Bonatti. Plus, Boston will probably fight hard (Mars, also Pluto in 2nd) to avoid a sweep; try to take advantage of Jays problem with moving runners.

The Moon was cadent in Libra conjunct Mars. A bloody war so to speak and many substitutions.
Have you found this to be true in the charts you have looked at?
Hi Ouranos, Kudos for todays win. As to your question, no, I can't say I've notice that but neither have I looked for it.

Kudo's to Ouranos for getting this right, I got it wrong, Jays won with a walk off double in the bottom of the 9th.

Can't see what I misread, the chart was similar to yesterday's except that then it was L1 (Boston) in the 4th (Jay's 10th) while today it was L4 (the Jays' 10th house ruler) in the 10th (Boston's honor). Possibly the ruler of a team's 10th in the the others 10th is not as big a debility as the ruler of the team's 1st in the other's 10th.

No game tomorrow. Only 12 games left in the season. Jays go on the road to NY for 3 then to Tampa for 3 then back home to play another 3 each against the same teams.

Thank you Janegca!
Feel free to post your analysis for the games against the Yankees.
Have you tested your system with hockey games?
What I know is let's say a game is scheduled for 7pm but the puck is dropped at 7:15pm. What time would you use 7pm or 7:15pm?
Every sport has a different setup.

Can you tell me what you have found looking at the Moon last and next aspect? Or the Moon general condition in the event chart?

Always a pleasure to read your comments and analysis Janegca!
Ouranos
Blessings!

Hi Ouranos, no, if memory serves me right, I think I tried hockey years back using Frawley and possibly with Doris Chase Doane's "Contest Chart" rules (can't rightly remember). I might have tried using the Lee and Brady recommendations but I honestly can't recall. Personally I'd used the "puck drop" as the angles appear to be super important in this Bonatti/Brady system especially if planets are near the cusps.

Still trying to figure that out. The type of aspect appears to be important as does the house position of the assisting planet. And based on the Texas game when "Moon applied to Jupiter" which is given to the home team, it was of no help, possibly because Jupiter was the ruler the first and so represented the away team.

Good luck with your next picks.
Jane

Hypothesis: Is it possible that the Moon rules both teams (or the game itself) as the Moon rules everything unless the Moon rules one team (1st or 7th House).
Let me rewrite Morin de Villefranche applied to baseball game it that's possible

In a fortunate house, if a benefic planet is followed by another benefic, this indicates that the good produced by the house affairs will be stable. (You take the lead and keep it).
If the benefic is followed by a malefic, the fortune acquired will be lost. (You loose).
If a malefic Planet rules in the House in which falls one of its malefic aspects, and this House is fortunate, this aspect, although malefic, will exert a favorable but also violent effect which will be followed ultimately by some disgrace or misfortune. (You loose).

In an unfortunate house, a benefic followed by another benefic indicates that the misfortune will not be realized, or if it is, in an extremely limited way. (You win by a short margin).
If a benefic is followed by a malefic, however, the lost signified by the house will certainly occur, but the native will escape it. (Here a team takes the lead and gradually looses it but not entirely).
If a malefic is followed by another malefic, the misfortunes caused will be very serious and the native will never escape them. (You loose).

Just extending here. It needs to be verified.
Blessings!

Hi Ouranos, Bonatti does use her as if she has a general influence on the battle as a whole, for example he says if the Moon is angular and rules the house she's in it will be a small war, moderate if she doesn't rule the house.

Well, looking at the above rules, (for the Jays @ Yankees game) the Moon is in an unfortunate house for the Jays (8th) separating from a benefic (Venus) and applying to a malefic (Uranus) -- Jays start off with a good lead and it diminishes but they pull off the game?

For the Yankees, the Moon is in a semi-fortunate house (8th = their 2nd, their resources) -- Yankees overcome Jays lead but then give it back and so loose the game?

Interesting idea...let's see if the game play matches either scenario -- in which case we will both "lose" but the Jays will win and I will be happy :)
