The School of Traditional Astrology has developed a mundane astrology conference this September, the weekend following the Sun's ingress into Libra.

The World Astrology Summit, hosted and organized by the STA, is an online conference showcasing exemplary work being done in the field of world astrology. Our event has a low admission fee for all astrologers ($95 USD).

On Saturday, 23 September, we will host lectures on a variety of mundane topics – from politics to economics, from arts & culture to world religions, from historical interest to modern science & tech.

On Sunday, 24 September, we welcome local representatives as they deliver astrological forecasts for their region, using a wide range of mundane techniques from both modern and historical schools of thought. We have representatives for Argentina, Australia, China & East Asia, the Eurozone generally, France, Ghana and Keyna, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the US, and more – all from local experts.

I especially love Öner Dosers work, and then there is Lee Lehman, Deborah Lynn, Wade Cave and others.
I recently discovered Eve Dembowski -excellent.

Can't make it live all the way. But there will be recordings accessible for 3 months watching I think.

Just wanted to say thank you to Deb, Wade, and all the presenters that participated in this conference. It is the first astrology conference I have ever taken part in and I found it absolutely fascinating. I haven't had a chance to watch all the presentations yet but those I have seen have been eye-openers. It's amazing seeing the work people are doing.

Last night I watched Wade's presentation on China-India border disputes and it had me pulling out my old mundane (pardon me, World) astrology files. A ton of data and insightful commentary on the history of the disputes.

This morning I watched Mari Garcia's presentation, she focused on the Mars cycle interacting with the outer planet cycles and traced it across the US Civil War, WWI and WWII, with a look at what may come in the 2030's. Beautifully explained and presented and a new blog for me to read.

Over the weekend I managed to take in Christeen Skinner's talk on Financial Astrology which was all new to me, very interesting, and again, very well presented. As was Deb's talk on Madoff, Friedman, and Holmes, monsters constructed bit by bit from the corners they freely rushed into. Lee Lehman's thought-provoking look at man made catastrophe's and the need to look at not only what happened but also at what happened afterwards and then Sunday's nation-state reviews: Lyn Bell on France, Wendy Stacey on the British Empire, Maria Blaquier on Argentina (which I know very little about), all very interesting and again, clearly presented. Still have a fair number to watch and re-watch.

One thing I did notice, the odd time anything related to Canada came up; everyone appears to still be using the old Dominion of Canada chart. Might I suggest they also add the Repatriated Constitution chart to their arsenal. I remember watching the ceremony and had the time and place down as April 17, 1982 11:36 AM EST, Ottawa, ON 75W42 45N25 although the article says that Pierre Trudeau invited the Queen to sign the document at 11:37 AM and it took them roughly a minute to complete the signing so it may be the time is closer to 11:38. Any way, just a thought.

And thank you for the note about Canada's chart. Interestingly, someone else (on Facebook) made comment that non-Canadians tend to use charts Canadians don't use themselves. I hadn't realized there was such disagreement, so it's helpful to learn about these points. I've written down your suggestion for the next time I need to look into what's going on north of me.

I imagine the problem for astrologers is that the Canadian Repatriated Constitution occured after Nick Campion published his Book of World Horoscopes , which we all seem so dependent on Good to hear in the conference that he is due to publish an updated edition soon.

Oh dear, don't want to give anyone the idea that most Canadian astrologers use this chart, I'm definitely not in the loop on that; have no idea what most of them use or even who they are. I use it when I look at mundane events in Canada because I think it augured a definite change in the make up of the country. Others may see it differently. Just thought it might be useful to look at both when reviewing current events.
