Those policies initially came as part of the system when installed 20 years ago and have been part of the “read this first” link that users must agree to before registering. I personally think that link is getting as much attention as it needs since it appears in red font with two exclamation marks after it on every page of the forum Moving forward, it will be impossible for new forum members to miss it, as registration now necessitates going to that page.

I agree with you about the image sizes and am currently working on ways to fix that. As a temporary measure, uploaded jpg files will now be constrained to a maximum width of 604px, but there is no easy way to apply this to images in other formats and getting the ideal solution will take a little time, so bear with me on that. There are some coding tasks that I cannot do by myself, and my techie help is currently flat-out working on more essential tasks that will bring many more improvements site-wide, but this is logged as necessary, and will get done as soon as possible. We will also have the easy ability to incorporate video clips or embedded YouTube videos soon, and once everything is fully established I can improve ways for users to know how to use the forum more effectively.

I need to get myself more informed first. Like every other user, I am still finding out what is possible regarding user experience and back-end capabilities. Just moving your post from the other thread to this one was a major hurdle this morning. Once done, it was easy, but finding how to do it for the first time was fraught with stress, LOL.

I hope people realise that I am listening and still implementing changes, but some things can be easily altered, and some will need more time to implement, especially when they impact on other things.

PS - we will also have more elegant emoticons soon - the ones showing at the moment are definitely showing signs of age.

Can we add FORUM POLICIES to the title of Read this first? I feel like this might make it clear that it's FORUM POLICIES. It's just a small suggestion, please don't mind. Thank you.

Will add it to the list and do it as soon as I can (sounds really easy, but I need to dig deep again to locate where the file that holds that text is located).
