Ha, Ouranos! I didn't intend to, but this is a fascinating event. I'd stayed out of the thread since it was a Sidereal-based discussion (no qualms with that, just not how I stretch a canvas or apply my preferred mediums) but since Kailho had used a Tropical chart I got excited to join in :)

i think what some of us at skyscript are advocating for is the use of either zodiac in the discussion forums... i am glad some here are doing so!

i took your comments in a positive way! and in fact, i have taken all your posts in this way and enjoy your contributions here at skyscript! mark one of the moderators here at skyscript who got into the habit of labeling the threads with the sidereal or tropical tag which gave this impression of segregation...i have jokingly opposed it.. transzodiac was my term to get around this, lol.. i used that label in a previous thread here on israel, if i am not mistaken.. personally i am curious to know what other astrologers think, regardless of the zodiac they use..

as a side note - i was interested in the fate verses free will thread you started, but i would prefer to read the transcript as opposed to the audio file... it seems i can't get the transcript unless i sign up... thus, i have not participated.. cheers..

Circling back to this post for an update.

A volcano has erupted on the Reykjanes peninsula of south-west Iceland (approx. 2.5 miles north of Grindavik) after weeks of intense earthquake activity (BBC report). No destruction of human life or towns has been reported so far, thankfully.

Here's the chart (tropical):
I don't have time to say much about the chart this morning, but did note that Mars, though still under the beams, escaped combustion very recently.

And Mercury (ruling the ASC; location/the town) is headed toward combustion - the Sun at the midpoint between it (Mercury) and Mars (ruler of 4; depths, underground).

Here is the Aries Point for the eruption with Mars-Hades to the fore alongside Pluto with its longstanding midpoint to Admetos. Possibly the additional factor of Sun-Mercury adds a certain restlessness and motion to the feverish context of the World point.

Going back to Jason's chart when it comes to charts for volcano's one's eyes seem to gravitate to the MC for obvious reasons. Here we can probably say that the MC sits between both Jupiter and Uranus - which is fitting indeed. Then perhaps we can see as another trigger point the Pisces Moon's applying square to Mars Sag from the 8th cusp. I'm not altogether sure what Saturn on 7th cusp signifies in this case, would it endanger tourism in some way?

As usual the stationary chart rises to the occasion with Uranus st. the go to planet in these cases particularly in respect to the sheer unpredictability associated with this type of calamity.

Here we have some very tight stressful aspects to Uranus itself as expected. Surely by now James is the only sceptic left remaining on the forum! In these charts tight sesquiquadrates (preferred to harmless sounding 'Tri-Octile') are v.important to take note of as they are of equal import to that of the square and opposition, in my view.

In Icelands 1948 chart I had thought that the eruption would come when transit Mars entered tropical capricorn and going into
the 4th house of Iceland.
That was not true as the eruption came recently and transit Mars at 17 Sag.

But another factor that I wrote seems important:

"- Uranus stationing on natal Moon in 8th ( in a profected 8th house year)"

The profection in 8th house Taurus seems important.

- The continued profected Ascendant at 17' Taurus was exactly on the
moon in the profected sign Taurus.
- Transiting venus (LOY) opposite Moon
- Transiting Mars quincunx Moon (natal square).
- Transiting Uranus in the profected 8th house.
