I've been reading a fascinating little book that is a classic in the area of the paranormal. The Boy Who Saw True is published by Random House, a major publisher. The book is the diary of a young boy who lived in Victorian times (late 1800s), and who had psychic ability. For example, he could see auras, and "see" into the astral world so that he frequently had visitors from that area.

In one experience he talked about a visit from a man who had been a scientist when living on earth, and who now regretted his dogmatic views of the afterlife and so forth. There is a very interesting quote about astrology in the book which would be no surprise to astrologers from India, but is entirely new thinking for the western mind. The scientist said:

Moreover, the planets, including our earth, ensoul the spiritual bodies of great Entities known as the Planetary Spirits—a matter which if appreciated would throw a very different light on the ancient and recondite science of Astrology; a science which your savants repudiate as an exploded superstition worthy to be classed with the belief in evil spirits and such like supposed-to-be-figments of the imagination.

They argue, with seeming justification, that it is impossible for heavenly bodies, calculated to be billions of miles away, to affect the destinies of man—all of which may sound very rational, but merely so because certain revealing facts are left out of the argument. What the savants, fail to understand, is that it is not the stars themselves which affect human destiny, but the magnetic forces emanating from the Planetary Spirits which ensoul those heavenly bodies. (The Boy Who Saw True, p. 182)

Time is all about our location and the speed of light. If we alter those two variables, we can look at the past and see the future. Einstein believed that space-time was a substance created at the Big Bang, and every point along that continuum is just as real as the “present."
We just happen to be here embodied for a limited time on a point of this continuum.

Many years ago, when I was living in Boston, I had a strange experience. As I was driving on a street, a voice inside told me to stop and the voice was insistent. I thought OK if you keep saying it, I will slow down just to clear you out of my mind. And suddenly, coming out of nowhere, a car coming from an alley cut me off.
Had I been driving normally, this would have ended up with in an accident.
I think we are surrounded by visitors? angels? spirits?.
One of the spiritual practice I have been doing for years is... Before falling asleep, I put myself in a beautiful surrounding and I am helping out someone in need. Only positive energy, giving, divine, a free flowing spirit who resolves all the problems of the world. It's like appeasing and relaxing my etheric body to meet the spirits.

Hi Therese ... thank you for mentioning this, managed to find a copy, I am about half way through, it's quite an interesting little book. The nature spirits he talks of remind me of a book I bought years ago that had pictures of fairies and elves drawn by a young girl who was brought up by theosophist parents; while she was growing up they lived off on their own, largely isolated, in a wood. They were lovely drawings, I'm not sure what happened to the book, I must dig around for it.

I'm sure it's true that much of what we call "intuition" can very well be prods or messages from what might be called astral assistants. There are too many close calls from disasters in life to be merely accidental.

Hi Therese...unfortunately I think the book went with the 100's of others I was forced to abandon when we downsized in 2007 However, I am pretty sure it was a softcover edition of this book The Fanatastic Art of Sulamith Wulfing whose bio on Wikipedia matches my memory of the books description of her life. The picture I have best memory of is "Little Gerda" because I worked with a woman named Gerda at the time.

Another valuable book that has gone out of print and is nearly impossible to find. A book by the same author, Nature Spirits, is available used for $95+. We will have to be content with The Boy Who Saw True. Thanks to Random House, that book is still in print.

James, so happy that you were able to read the book! It certainly is very unique and interesting. Aside from what "the scientist" said about astrology and the planets, I liked the little tale from the boy's grandfather: "Christians who thought like your grandmother that they were the only ones being saved..." It seems these departed ones were all sitting around an imaginary throne of God singing hymns, and believing that this was all there was to heaven. (I have a daughter who believes she is one of the few among the "saved.")

But it's a sobering thought that the person we are now is exactly the same person we meet after the transition to the astral. Our hopes of becoming wise and enlightened beings thrown to the wind!!

i liked the book for so many reasons therese! i enjoyed the examples you cite, but there is something bigger that the book conveys, that i am unable to describe.. maybe it is that it puts things in perspective for me, that i didn't have that perspective beforehand.. so in that regard - it was a fantastic blessing for me to read the book! thank you again!
