I appreciate your considerations but find it very hard to follow (your) descriptions of faces. Maybe that has to do in part with being no nativ English speaker. I had to do with portraits every now and than so I am used to look intently at faces but words are another matter than pictures. Most of the time I could not use your descriptions in "A Rectification Manual" to decide between two possible ascendants too.

I do not mean that your descriptions are bad or too subjective necessarily. Rather I have to learn to describe faces with words: I am not able to give a personal description now but I am able to recognise persons without any problems. But I do not know how to accomplish this task…

Anyway, thank you for putting this huge effort into astrological physiognomy!

Sometimes it helps to read a different author. Check out my 'History and Sources' literature review. If there is one English book to buy, I would recommend 'Astrological Body Types' by Judith Hill. Good luck!

When you found out that a retrograde planet was more likely show up the features of the opposite sign, did you investigate or consider a Heliocentric view of the retrograde planet?

Judith Hill is a very good drawer and illustrator and has a picturesque language. A good book to get an idea about how the same energies manifest in planets and similarly in human bodies.

I’ve got a printed version of this complete PDF to hand it over for free to somebody interested. I’ve made it smaller to 17 x 22 cm and converted the color images to black & white. There are data of 432 persons with a square chart, a little portrait and Dr. H’s notes about physiognomy for each as you can see in the PDF. The excel spreadsheet is not included.

Physiognomy updates

I have edited and condensed the first portion of the working paper with 432 examples mentioned here in April.

In addition I have completely revamped the accompanying "Working Paper on Astrological Physiognomy: History and Sources" which can be used as a standalone module on astrological physiognomy in natal astrology studies.

As a part of this overhaul, I did employ ChatGPT to make Latin Translations of complete texts by Michael Scot (Book of Physigonomy) & Giambattista della Porta (Coelestis Physiognomonia). Also partial Latin to English translations from Pietro D'aBano, Gaurico, and Haly Abenragel of brief passages relevant to physigonomy. The della Porta book is important as it is the largest single standalone book on physigonomy that I have encountered (53,185 word count). Deb, if you read this, I will send a copy to you for possible posting to Skyscript. A request to the publisher on permission to post online a ChatGPT Latin-to-English version of a Latin critical edition remains unanswered.
