Where is my drum dial? 1 by Harlequin 9th. February 2024, 1:44pm, Worcester, UK. 14 degrees Cancer rising. I couldn't remember where my drum dial was so set this chart. A drum dial is an instrument for measuring tension on a drum skin. We're told second or fourth house for lost objects, depending on how well each house ruler describes the object. The moon is the natural significator for lost objects, but we are counselled to keep with the main significators to avoid confusion. As the object is a measuring instrument, I chose the fourth house as Mercury describes the object more accurately than the ruler of the second house, the Sun. Mercury is in the eighth house, in Aquarius. In a home the eighth house signifies the bathroom. Mercury is in an air sign so somewhere high up; close to the cusp so near a doorway. I searched the bathroom but the dial isn't there. Mercury is about to aspect Jupiter, so I looked at which houses Jupiter ruled, the tenth, Pisces and the sixth house., Sagittarius. The tenth house suggests a workplace, but as I'm retired that didn't apply, so I looked to the sixth, which we are told signifies a utility room. I don't have a utility room as such, so searched the next best thing, all my cupboards, still to no avail. Jupiter being in the eleventh house I wondered if I'd lent it to a friend, but was assured by friends that they didn't have it. I began to wonder if it had been stolen, so began to look for evidence for that. The significator for a thief is the seventh house, and one of the testimonies for theft is if the object is in the seventh house, the house of the thief. Mercury has only recently entered the eighth having previously been in the seventh, and now being in the eighth suggests, if it has been stolen, it's in the thief's posession. Perhaps that's the reason I can't find it at home. It's very frustrating not being able to find it and not knowing if it's been stolen or not. H Quote Wed Feb 14, 2024 7:45 pm
Re: Where is my drum dial? 2 by Jason Hi Harlequin, I'd give the ruler of the 2nd house (the Sun) signification over the missing dial. It's a moveable item of yours. Both the Sun (2nd ruler; dial) and Moon (1st ruler; you) being in the same sign could suggest the dial is nearby, in your home still. The chart has quite a few indications of the item being somewhere on the western side of the house if it is there: significators in Aquarius: north by west Air signs: west 9th house: south by west 4th house cusp (where the item has come to lay); Virgo: south by west ruler of the day and hour, Venus, approaching the 7th cusp: west The Aquarius symbol specifically looks like stairs to me, and I wonder if the house has another level besides the main one, which has to be accessed by stairs or a ladder - or, possibly a storage space which has to be accessed by a step stool or ladder? As you mentioned, air signs indicate high places. The Sun separates from, while the Moon applies to, the north node - another symbol for height. Virgo (closets, storage space, drawers, baskets) on the 4th cusp may indicate the dial is tucked away inside of something. The Moon being in the 8th and combust also indicates an 'invisibility' or 'obscured/hidden' theme. Speaking of the Moon, its last aspect was to Jupiter, which Lilly says indicates the item was lost due to an "excess of care or reorganization of household affairs." Has anyone helped you clean or organize your home at all since you last saw the dial (Jupiter in the 11th and ruling 6th)? Good luck! Harlequin wrote: 9th. Re: Where is my drum dial? 3 by Wei I feel that the Sun, as a symbol for Drum Dial, is quite fitting, as the sun's trajectory creates the four seasons. I consider it as a gauge or indicator of measurement. The Sun and Jupiter form a Contra-Antiscial conjunction, with Jupiter falling into the 11th house. Perhaps it is located in the home of friends ? Alternatively, it could be in your child's room (the 5th house). Quote Thu Feb 15, 2024 3:05 pm
Re: Where is my drum dial? 4 by Harlequin Hi Jason & Wei, thank you for your insights. If using the Sun as significator then according to the angular/succedent/cadent rule the object is a long way off, the Sun being in a cadent house. I live in a small, ground floor apartment, so no upper levels. I also live alone, so any reorganising/cleaning is done just by me. I have already asked friends who say they don’t have it, & I don’t have children. It seems this object is well & truly lost! Frustrating! H. Quote Thu Feb 15, 2024 4:56 pm
Re: Where is my drum dial? 5 by Jason Hi again, Harlequin. Sorry to hear you still haven't found it. Bummer. Perhaps it is a long way off as you say; accidentally disposed of at some point? Saturn (decay; trash) is conjunct the Midheaven and disposits the Sun, Moon, and Mercury (your choice for signifier and also ruler of 4 - where the item has come to lay). I'll keep the hope alive over here that it's just being overlooked and you come across it again someday. Take care. thoughts are just thoughts Quote Thu Feb 15, 2024 5:20 pm

Re: Where is my drum dial? 7 by Ouranos The 2nd House rules all movable lost articles. So the Sun rules your drum dial which can be confirmed by its round shape like a Sun dial and its value or scarcity, shining (Sun) grey (Aquarius ruled by Saturn). It could also indicate it was a gift. On the cusp of the 9th, it was just moved or about to be moved or mislaid (Moon last over Mercury ruler of the 4th, the mislaid house and ruling the 12th of forgetfulness). It was not stolen. And Jason and Wei already gave you some useful tips. Focusing on the Moon last over Mercury in Aquarius in the 8th or what you were doing when you lost it. Indoor In a place with legal papers, bills, locked boxes or drawers. Outdoor Place where you park your car, next to a garage or near an automobile. The Moon is 5 degrees 27' from the Sun - 5 days, weeks, months etc. Around March 21st Venus will reach your MC at 11 Pisces. The reason I am using transiting Venus is because it rules the 4th House from the 2nd in Libra and should mark the end-of-the matter, 5 weeks later. March 4th, Venus goes over your Sun but it does not fit with the symbolic time. Or watching the transits of the Moon (your ruler) over your Sun at 20 Aquarius ruling your drum dial. Hope this can be helpful, Ouranos Blessings! Quote Fri Feb 16, 2024 4:47 am

Re: Where is my drum dial? 9 by Wei Hi Harlequin I made a mistake. I should have calculated the antiscion of Jupiter, not the Sun's antiscion. It's always important to calculate the antiscion of the "fixed point" (heavier planets or the cusp of houses) so that we can clearly see whether it's in a separating or applying aspect. The antiscion of Jupiter is at 21 degrees 45 minutes in Leo, with the Sun is applying opposition aspect to it, differing by 1 degree 28 minutes. I feel this Jupiter is still quite suspicious. The antiscion of the second house cusp is at 26 degrees 20 minutes in Taurus, with Uranus differing by 7 degrees 11 minutes, although the margin of orbs is a bit large. Uranus represents unexpected situations. The Moon is in applying sextile with the 11th house cusp; I still feel the 11th house is a bit suspicious. Haha. Quote Wed Feb 21, 2024 3:22 am
Re: Where is my drum dial? 10 by Harlequin Hi Wei, thank you for your update. I noticed the contra-antiscion of Sun with Jupiter so contacted friends asking if they had the dial. They all said no, but as it’s a contra-antiscion it could be “hidden” with one of them & they don’t realise it, although I don’t recall lending it to anyone. The Moon applying to conjunct the Sun suggests I will find the dial, if indeed the Sun is the correct significator of the dial. It’s 5 degrees 27’ from the Sun, so applying the formula fixed sign = long, succedent house = medium & using a time frame of days/weeks/months it suggests I’ll find it in five and a half weeks, so sometime around the 18th. of March. If I do find it I’ll post an update here. Fingers crossed! H. Quote Wed Feb 21, 2024 8:47 pm
Re: Where is my drum dial? 11 by babyloong Higher up, near the window, where the light is, covered by something or with the possibility of being sunken in, something to do with a humanoid, or maybe some usb or something, some books religious hublot related, and maybe also close to a soft damp item between the two rooms, some clothing or water or something. At the south-west, it's been a long time since I've used to move. Also you just can't see it for a while, wait for the moon to come out of the burn OR the moon too 5 units and you'll have a chance to find it. Re: Where is my drum dial? 12 by Greg Young Found it! No sry I forgot I'm a harp player. A question to Ouranos..is it possible to use Aries points or any other of the less traditional delineations in Horary interpretation or is it frowned upon by the big chiefs of Horary?
