The transit connections between the bridge opening and collapse are very striking (is it possible to add a screenshot of that here?) Besides the eclipse and nodal connection, I was struck yesterday by how the cicumstances relate to the conjunction of Mars and Saturn in the water sign Pisces (disaster by hitting an obstacle in water). It's also interesting how this plays out a feature in the natal chart of Francis Scott Key to whom the bridge is dedicated (author of the US national anthem "Star Spangled Banner'). Wikipedia reports he was born on 1 August 1779, so he had a close conjunction of Mars and Saturn in the water sign Scorpio in his own nativity (around 20/22° Scorpio).

Sure thing – here's the collision chart, and biwheel underneath.

I am not surprised to learn there are connections to Francis Scott Key's nativity, given the naming of the bridge – hadn't looked into that myself, but what a thing to have his natal malefics in Scorpio. Salvador Dali, the namesake for the colliding container ship, has a Moon at 2° Aries, MC at 3° Aries, so struck completely by the eclipse. His Jupiter at 16° Aries was opposed by the collision Moon at 16° Libra – just striking symbolism all around, really.

Thanks for adding the charts Wade - and yes, all very intriguing. So Uranus is currently transiting the Mars afflicted Saturn in FSK's chart from the degree of opposition. Curious how the different themes tie together like this.
Looks like someone has just added JFK's noon chart to astro.com today (speedy service there) - here is the link if anyone wants to take a quick look at that

In any event we can see from your bi wheel that someone chose to open that bridge with Mars in Pisces high on the midheaven and Neptune angular on the descendant - any good electional astrologer would have wanted to unsee the look of that.

Yes, Stellar very good but he did miss out the Mercury conjunct to Eris which would indicate mayhem on board so hopefully this all comes out in the wash. Mercury in the Event chart rules 7th house of collisions, relations etc which is so very evident in the 9/11 and Titanic hits Iceberg charts so if you care to look back for research they are well worth a look.

Obviously Mercury is the key planet here as transport, commerce etc will be gravely affected in the area. It's coming up to its station on April 1 thus very slow and debilitated whilst also conjunct Chiron as well as Eris so if Archie is reading this try to use both Chiron & Eris at least for mundane charts. Then progress to asteroids. 8) Otherwise I am a fan!

In a way the Eclipse foresaw the event by its position on the MC-IC axis set for Baltimore. However as a standalone it is not sufficient to simply have a tightly angular lunation.

Here is the Mercury Aries Point chart.

Note URANUS on DC (collision, accident, shock). Also Mystic Rectangles can sometimes be hazardous in this type of chart.

Next the Mercury Station chart.

Note NEPTUNE on DC (confusion, foggy thinking).

Greg, I absolutely admire your very original and creative astrological attitude, coming up with such unusual and rarely used charts, like planetary ingresses and stations. I am also very surprised by the fact that the Mercury station chart for Baltimore has the same degrees on the angles as in Alexiei Navalny's natal chart. Do you think there is a hidden connection between this Naval accident and Naval-Nee?

English is not my natal language, so whenever I watch films on YouTube I use its automatic translation feature. For some reason it always translates Navalny's name as "fleet" or "navy". Funny silly AI.

Hi all ... came across an article this morning NTSB Releases "Black Box" Timeline of Baltimore Bridge Strike, it has a complete list of times for each incident leading to the event, from leaving port to the collision; don't get that very often. Thought it might be of interest to anyone wanting to further investigate the event.

It's Neptune so anything is possible, I was thinking more along less complicated lines such as drink or drugs playing a part. Maybe we will know on April 1st which would be appropriate!
