This is a horary chart, and I am the querent.

Previously, only a few cities in mainland China and Taiwan had direct flights. The city I wish to visit in mainland China was not on the list.

Now, mainland China has once again sent a list of cities with direct flights to the Taiwan government, and the city I wish to visit is on the list.

Currently, we are awaiting approval from the Taiwan government regarding the request from mainland China.

If direct flights are resumed, I won't need to transfer during the journey. Therefore, I only need to see if there is any translation or collection of light between the 9th house ruler and my significator, which represents the need for transfers.

L1 Jupiter and L9 Sun do not have an aspect, but they are both in Taurus. The Moon is directly applying a trine aspect to L9 from the 1st house, indicating that I won't need to transfer. This also suggests the resumption of previously banned direct flights.

As for the specific opening time, I think it will be when Mars leaves Pisces and Venus also leaves Aries, which would be around 1-2 time units. I hope it will be days rather than weeks ,meaning on the 30th of April or 1st of May when we receive good news.

Originally, there were 58 cities in mainland China with direct flights to Taiwan. Due to the pandemic, direct flights from these 53 cities were suspended. In 2023, flights from 23 cities resumed, and today mainland China has submitted a request to resume flights from the remaining 30 cities. However, given the current tension between mainland China and Taiwan, Taiwan has not yet approved this request. The city I intend to visit is on the list of the remaining 30 cities, and I prefer not to have layovers. Therefore, I hope Taiwan will consider approving the request. Strictly speaking, the city I want to visit had direct flights opened in 2023, but they are not regular flights. Therefore, I still need to have a layover. I believe this detail shouldn't affect the interpretation of the horary.

I originally planned to visit mainland China in May and haven't purchased a ticket yet because I felt there might be a resumption of direct flights. In February of this year, I consulted a horary chart regarding another question related to travel restrictions between mainland China and Taiwan. The horary chart indicated that within 2-3 units of time, mainland China would open travel to Taiwan. At that time, I was pessimistic, thinking the unit of time might be years, but I hoped it was months. My main goal is to avoid layovers, and the likelihood of this increases if mainland China lifts its travel restrictions. Then, on April 10th, former Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou met with Xi Jinping in mainland China. In a press release, I saw Xi Jinping welcoming mainland Chinese people to visit Taiwan. My intuition tells me that the Beijing government should open up travel to Taiwan for mainland Chinese citizens, bringing me one step closer to my goal of avoiding layovers.

On April 28th, the Chinese government suddenly announced the lifting of travel bans and applied to the Taiwan government to open direct flights to the remaining 30 cities. Currently, the Taiwan government has not yet agreed, due to some reasons. I refrain from commenting on current events and politics; I simply hope that when I travel to China, there won't be any layovers.

1. May I ask: What was the question, exactly? Because whatever it was, the answer is yes, with the Moon applying trine Sun.
2. It is quite interesting that Jupiter L1 is in the 6th house of pets, the 12th part of the ascendant is also in Taurus in the 6th house. The thought interpretation (according to the table) is "Four footed animals". Were you thinking of a pet when you asked the question and cast this chart?

Well spotted! I hadn't thought of any animal except for Taurus. :-)

In ancient times, people used quadruped animals (such as oxen) for plowing fields or as means of transportation (such as riding horses or horse-drawn carriages). Modern airplanes and automobiles, on the other hand, can be seen as a kind of evolved animal power.

MO (co-ruler) in ASC trine SU L9 = Yes and SU in the 5th = an enjoyable trip.

MO Detriment L8 in ASC = Make sure you have enough money that you can convert in China.
Another interesting fact I have found using midpoints
ME/SA (of travel) = MO = AR which is also an indication of travel.

Could one not read it differently? Say Jupiter lord of the 1st and 4th signifies the current location, while Mercury Lord H7 signifies the destination. Moon as your co-significator first applies sextile Mercury in H4, possibly meaning that it is a direct flight. Or do you consider Mercury as the tickets you need to purchase in between Sun and Jupiter? Why would a translation of light point to a layover and not to the plane itself, bringing Sun to Jupiter or vice versa? I kinda fail to see the logic. But that's just my uneducated opinion.
BTW, this Mercury just recovered from its retrograde period. Would that mean anything regarding the state of civil aviation in your part of the world?

Taiwan (the region I'm currently in) and China (the place I want to go), has a strained relationship.

Flights departing from Taiwan's Taoyuan Airport could originally fly directly to over 50 airports in China. Now, they can only go to five. This means I'll need to transfer or take a high-speed train to my desired city within China.

On April 28th, China hoped Taiwan would agree to allow flights from Taiwan to directly access 30 cities in China, including the one I want to visit. However, Taiwan did not agree.

Looking at the astrology chart for April 28th, although the Moon was applying to the Sun, it was in a weak position in Capricorn, where Jupiter was also weak. The Sun's sextile with Saturn represents obstacles too . Yet, I remain hopeful. Mars in the fourth house could exert pressure on the government (tenth house) to open Taiwan-China flights as soon as possible, preferably by May, as I originally planned to visit China in May.

As of today, Taiwan still hasn't agreed to open up.

Whether I can avoid transfers entirely depends on the government's decision, over which I have no control.

In the astrology chart for May 1st, the first house represents my current location, the tenth house represents the midpoint of the journey, and the seventh house represents the destination.

Saturn in the fourth house opposes the tenth house, indicating delays during travel. Saturn represents delays. Not to mention it's in the mutable sign — Pisces, for transfers.

The ninth house is the third house (domestic travel )derived from the seventh house (the destination), and the Moon will transfer the Sun's light to Mercury, the ruler of the seventh house, indicating that I'll need to transfer within China to reach my destination.

I interpret the Moon as the unfolding of events.

Mercury has turned direct and does not have an aspect with its adversary, Jupiter. This suggests that relations between Taiwan and China have not improved. Additionally, Saturn remains stuck in the fourth house. Since China hasn't opened mainland tourism to Taiwan fully, Taiwan is also unwilling to open flight routes.

Placing my hopes on Mars in Aries was a big mistake from the start.

I have purchased the plane ticket. On May 8th, I will be transiting through a third-party city. What's also noteworthy is that the ticket was bought through a third-party (travel agency) as well. At least the moon is in Taurus on 8th,May. (I could buy the ticket directly myself, but I have decision-making difficulties and prefer not to pick dates. XD)
