Recently, a serious accident occurred in Guangdong Province, China, where a section of the expressway collapsed, resulting in multiple cars plunging, exploding, and catching fire, causing heavy casualties, resembling scenes from an apocalyptic movie.

Before knowing the exact time of the accident, I was pondering over what represents the collapse and what signifies the expressway . This has been a practice I've undertaken in recent months. I begin by speculating the configuration of the celestial chart based on the event, then refine my imagination with an actual chart.

I'm thinking Saturn represents the collapse, and the expressway is symbolized by the Moon.

The collapse of the expressway occurred in Chayang Town, Dabu County, Meizhou City, at approximately 2:10 a.m. on May 1, 2024.

I observed Saturn antiscia conjunct the South Node (Moon's Node), the Moon in the 12th house in conjunction with Pluto, and in sextile with Mars. Additionally, the Moon was in square aspect with the ruler of the 3rd house (representing transportation), Venus.

I feel that the celestial chart aligns closely with my imagination.

What are your thoughts?

This isn't the first time this highway has collapsed. The Meizhou-Longyan expressway commenced construction on January 11, 2010, and was completed and put into operation on December 31, 2014.

The official word is that heavy rain caused the collapse. Dangerous mudslides are also hampering the rescue efforts. The article states that heavy rains have plagued the area since April, and that made me wonder what using Ptolemy's Investigation of Weather in Detail (Tetrabiblos; Book 2, Chapter 12) might show. I made a post here using this technique some months ago, but I can't seem to find it right now. Anyway, I mention the technique because I figure you might think it worth looking into.

You describe an interesting exercise here. I like the sound of it. One of the things I'd often do (sometimes still do) is try to categorize people, places, and things I came across during my everyday life, astrologically. I think having that sort of "filter" on in the background can really get one in touch with planetary essences. Bring concepts not only "down to earth" but also show how intermingled/interdependent things are - e.g. a traffic STOP here in the US is a signal/communication (Mercury), that indicates danger and is red (Mars) and introduces a boundary where one must slow to a halt (Saturn) before proceeding.

As for your speculation that Saturn and the Moon would be prominent in this chart, well, as we can see Saturn rises and disposits the Moon. The Moon (the general public, comings and goings) is in 12 (unforseen danger) rules 5 (holidays, celebrations - the article notes: The road collapsed in the wee hours of Wednesday, the first day of the five-day May Day holiday break as millions in the country travel.) and 6 (accidents, injuries) and is exalted ruler of 3 (roadways, inland transit). The Moon has also just sextiled Mars (accidents), squared Venus (ruler of 3), and now applies to Pluto (a planet associated with the ground swallowing things if you agree with some of the mythological attributes it's been given).

It's also notable that Jupiter (Jupiter Pluvius to the Romans - the rain bringer) rules the ascendant and is in 3 (roadways) still in the orb of its conjunction with Uranus (sudden disruption).

One last piece of the puzzle I found interesting is the fact that the fixed star Fomalhaut rises. It's the alpha star of Piscis Austrinus, often referred to as the eye or mouth of the fish. Its placement in the heavens is at the feet of the water-bearer (a human), drinking up the contents poured from Aquarius' "urn"

The section of the road in question is situated on a hillside, making it highly susceptible to mudslides.

This isn't the first incident on this road. Just last year, it experienced a road collapse due to heavy rainfall.

Thank you for mentioning Ptolemy's Tetrabiblos. As I recall, the conjunction of Saturn and Mars signifies extreme weather, and when Saturn and Mars conjoin in Pisces, it indicates rain.
