An elderly friend of mine has asked me to use horary astrology to help her decide between several retirement communities. I am having a hard time deciding which house to use as the quesited, because the living arrangements are so varied. The full service communities she's looking at include independent living apartments, where residents are on their own but hotel-style amenities are included in a monthly fee.; assisted living apartments, where people are basically on their own but need help with activities of daily living; and memory care units for long-term care issues involving (for example) dementia. Each type of apartment is a rental - there are no buy-ins. Residents share dining halls, recreation rooms, a beauty salon, etc. - it's like a centrally managed, fully financed village.

Since the basic idea is to rent an apartment and have full use of all tiers of the community as needs change (e.g., a move from independent to memory care living), it's hard to envision this as a simple 6th house rental matter; perhaps the 11th house would work because of the group dynamic. I can't see it as a 4th house matter, since the purchase of land and property are not involved. The 7th house would certainly come into play because legal contracts would be entered into, but I can't see the 7th as a basic relocation house here, given all the lifestyle choices and membership options involved. The community is not a locked facility, or a hospital, so the 12th doesn't strike me as feasible; it's not an institution like the 9th, either. So I'm thinking more along the lines of 4th or 6th, but neither seems adequate to suit the full situation.

As we know, the world has changed so much that traditional house and rulership assignments aren't always an easy fit. - and while It's not usually difficult to follow the older leads, this situation has me stumped. Your thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

You need to listen carefully to your friend or question him listing the renting locations in order.
The first location would be the 6th House
The 2nd location, the 6th from the 6th = the 11th
The 3rd location, the 6th from the 6th from the 6th = the 4th
And so on.
The living arrangements should fit the description but most important 'Which one by House, planets therein and rulers' has the best relationship to his ASC as I presume he will be the querent.

Thank you. Right now, my friend (Ginny) is exploring several of these communities, and my thought was that I should do a chart for each one separately, as the need arises; but perhaps it would be best to approach things in the way you suggest, with each option given its own space in a single chart. It could be that "breaking the ice" by looking at the first option (when she asks specifically about it) will give me further clues about how to approach the following ones.
