Thanks Ouranus, I had written the time down as 10:19 PM EDT but your time reminded me that I had been watching CBC Primetime and not the live presentation...lol. I took a look in Morse's The Living Stars, he has Rasalhague (nature: Saturn-Venus) as Alpha Ophiuchus derived from Ar Ras Al Hawwa or 'Head of the Snake Handler" or "---of the Snake Charmer" "with the implication that this Doctor is not fighting with the creature, but actually has control over it. Since this is his (Ophicuhus') Head star, the note is one of control by the mind, not by...brute strength" . A somewhat different take than the Chinese interpretation. Janus 6 says its associated with "perversion and depravity", a very different take.

Yes I just brushed the signification of Raselhague at the MC.
It has all the meanings you mention.
I found interesting to discover that Raselhague is the navigating star in the constellation Ophiuchus in July. And that the Games were navigating on La Seine.
I don't have the same approach in my bathtub now.

the opening celebration has come in for some criticism and apparently one is not able to see it on youtube and etc. etc.. i never saw any of it, but i have been reading about it.. perhaps the androgynous nature of saturn and neptune rising in the ascendant has contributed to this?? saturn is a type of shapeshifter as i understand it - associated with masks and liking to hide behind them in order to protect itself.. does any of this ring true for the opening ceremonies??

thanks for the compliment on my observations on the midpoints! here is another one - mercury exact square the mars-uranus midpoint... mercury rules the 5/8 houses in the sidereal chart i posted earlier.. it seems the issue of sexuality and the opening ceremony presentation has come in for some grilling, especially from the christian community... now, i think religion is a 9th house thing.. casting a particular religion in a negative light might be caught up in the 9th house ruler positioned in the 6th, with the moon applying to this same ruler, as i was mentioning earlier.. either that or the zany dynamic of mercury at the mercury-uranus midpoint explains some of this and also my earlier comment on the androgynous nature of saturn-neptune rising.. maybe it is mercury dynamic instead, or a combo of the two?? thoughts?? why would religious people want to address this opening ceremony thing?

The scene of drag queens was compared to Leonardo Da Vinci's famous painting, "The last Supper", depicting Jesus with his disciples before he was arrested by the authorities and subjected to a trial that led to his crucifixion on Calvary. It offended Christians who saw this as an intentional mockery of Jesus. On social media, many people described this scene as "Disgusting, Demonic, Satanic" (It included a display of Marie Antoinette's head, perhaps to "honor" the recent Mars/Uranus conjunction on Algol) and celebrated the alleged power outage that followed the event in Paris as "a punishment from God"

Thomas Jolly's natal chart, Uranian Style, is very interesting. There are quite a few planetary pictures depicting him as a talented performance artist.
Nevertheless, the planetary picture that was most prominent on the Olympics opening ceremony was a very dangerous and life threatening one.
MC = Mars = Uranus/Hades ("Distinctly marked loathsomeness or disgust. Sudden mean acts, Exciting damages..Sudden mean deeds sudden damage...." and some more fearsome interpretations having to do with murder and accidents) . Solar arc Uranus aligned with this natal picture, activating it, and transit Moon triggered it. This same planetary picture, by directions, aligned exactly with his natal Hades.

The most prominent transit to his chart during the ceremony was Mars exactly (to the minute) opposite his natal Uranus (that is conjunct his midheaven). Looks like an intentional provocation, for the sake of achieving "fame".
