If we view SA as pertaining to the Republicans, this may suggest that the authority figure SA is being challenged in the opposition cycle.
And we may witness a peak when ME in Virgo will form a T-Square with SA and JU around Sept 18th.

At least, there seems to be a major re-organization happening in September.

Kamala Harris' Convention talk covered a number of "moods." I wasn't happy either when the emphasis turned martial. It spoiled the happier energy she was generating. Of course men in general are not going to like a woman attempting to break the glass ceiling aiming for the U.S. presidency--especially older men with traditional values. Well, it will be interesting to watch the two months until the election.

There is a long history linking the Democrats to Saturn and Republicans to Jupiter. I have actually written on this extensively in the past here. Firstly, we have the foundational party charts. Astrologers like Barbara Watters and Sylvia DeLong has written about these planetary associations of the US two main parties. The Democrats were traditionally the party of the agricultural rural south (Saturn=land) and it had links to slavery and Jim crow legislation (social stratification). Arguably, the latter continues in a modern context with their strong support for identity politics and social diversity. Later in the 19th century they built electoral support based on immigration from places like Ireland and Germany challenging the more nativist base of the Republicans. Traditionally Saturn has links to the poor and social outsider. The Republicans have always supported a kind of moral cause (Jupiter) whether that was abolitionism, prohibition, nativism, anti-communism or anti-abortion. They have also been seen as the party of big business which is very Jupiter. The modern Democrats tend to garner support from the non-religious, secular or from religious minorities (Saturn) while the Republicans have a more Christian religious base (Jupiter). I think the confusion about the party associations goes back to the time of FDR and the New Deal since when the Democrats have favoured more collectivist progressive policies while the Republicans tend to more strongly support individualism and the free market. That process was strengthened following the Civil Rights legislation in the 1960s after which the Republicans successfully courted the conservative southern ''Dixiecrats'' in their ''southern strategy'' organised by Richard Nixon and Barry Goldwater. This moved the Republicans further to the right. Despite this the traditional associations of the parties still seem to work.

Sylvia DeLong said that these rulerships had roots in methods set forth by Llewellyn George and Cedric Lamont where they had assigned Saturn to the Democratic Party and Jupiter to the Republican Party. And it makes sense with your explanations Therese and Mark.

If the foundation chart for the Democratic Party is good (8 Jan 1828) in Baltimore, it shows a Mars/Jupiter conjunction in Scorpio and the recent DNC had a Mars/Jupiter conjunction in Gemini.
Maybe a timeline research of this conjunction might offer some additional clues.

The original delineations of the elephant and donkey symbolism go back to the days when the Democratic Party supported Slavery and the Republicans in the form of Abe Lincoln fought for the liberty of black slaves. It's very different now - the World turns and changes to the extent that most people would now connect Jupiter to Democrats and vice versa. It's a matter of choice and opinion.

Yes, the charts do tell the story. The Biden Inauguration chart and ceremony, along with the horrifying policies, decrees and orders of the "democratic" Biden regime totally deny any claim that contemporary "progressive" democrats have anything to do with Jupiter, but certainly relates them to Saturn.

People at the ceremony were wearing black surgical masks, as part of the grim atmosphere.

The Biden regime itself is known for its authoritarianism, denial of human rights and freedom of speech, extreme censorship of social media and mainstream media (aka "fact checkers"), suppression and oppression of anyone who refused to "take the jab" (that eventually proved to be useless and damaging), to the point of inciting the public against them, taking away their livelihood and blaming them of "murder". For contemporary democrats, the slogan "My body my choice" works only for abortions, not for a person's right to chose whether or not to take n experimental medical treatment. solar fire does it on a chart... you'd have to do it for the transit charts separately though as i understand it.. there is no astro software that i am aware of that does what you are asking for with multiple charts at the same time, but like i say - solar fire gives you the distances in degrees - as memory serves..
