With transits we have learned to look at a transiting planet to a natal planet, but there is more to say on this subject.
Let me try to summarize what Mrs Huguette Hirsig, one of my early influence in astrology, said about that. In her life, she studied over 30,000 birth charts.

1) Transit by repetition

This includes
- planet returns or a ptolemaic aspect to itself.
- a transit to a natal planet in aspect to the this planet.
This is what, as astrologers, we are most familiar with.
She adds:
If the transit is harmonious (sextile, trine) and natally it is harmonious (sextile, trine), the positive experience will be felt in the houses being touched.
If the transit is harmonious (sextile, trine) and natally it is dissonant (square, opposition), this will reduce the risks of the natal position.
If the transit is dissonant and natally it is harmonious, contrary to what one might believe, this will be difficult to handle because the person will be confronted to situations he is not familiar with but in the end the person will fall back on his feet.
If the transit is dissonant and natally dissonant, this will be felt strongly but the person will know how to navigate as the situation will be familiar. Another brick in the wall.

Note: When we have had Moon squaring Uranus a hundred times in our life, we should become wiser than if we have Uranus squaring Uranus as this is the first time in our life and hopefully when we get the 2nd hit in our 40's (opposition), we will remember what it was like earlier. You hear that when people say that they feel like returning to their rebellious youth. The reference point is easier to grasp with faster planets than with slower planets.

2) Transit by transmission

When you have a natal aspect between 2 planets and by transit the same 2 planets form a similar aspect and aspecting the 2 planets, this is a transit by transmission and this is stronger.
Say you have natally Jupiter trine Mercury and by transit Jupiter is sextile both planets while transiting Mercury makes a conjunction to Jupiter.
Same rules than a transit by repetition would apply.

Note: One thing we see all the times in astrological forecastings is overlooking the ruler of the transiting planets.
Say you have a QM with the MO in Sagittarius and the SU in Virgo. It is essential to look at transiting JU and ME and see if they connect with a natal placement.

Here are some rules as defined by Morin de Villefranche in Book XXI (James Holden tr)
20. When a planet is outside of its own sign, it provokes on thing because of its position in the house it occupies, and another because of its rulership in another house.
23. Each zodiacal sign always operates according to the nature and zodiacal state of its ruler.
28. The physical position is the most powerful of the determining factors; then comes the disposition (rulership) and aspects.
30. The position or rulership of a planet in a house does indicate that a category of things or accidents may or may not befall a person.
32. It is to be noted, however, that the Ascendant has a stronger significance for the life and constitution of the native than does its ruler, if the latter is absent from the First House. The aspects received by the Ascendant are in this case more powerful than those received by the ruler.
56. The most powerful action on the house significations will come from whichever one of the planets is also the house ruler; then, from that one which is in exaltation; and in the third place, from the one possessing the closest natural analogy with the house meanings.
60. When many planets are found together in the same house and their dispositor is located in another, the affairs signified by this latter will form the point of departure for whatever fortune or misfortune is produced by the group of planets.
Note: This is probably the most important one to remember.
62. When the ruler of one house is physically placed in another, the significations of the two houses can combine, but they do not necessarily or always do this. The planet in question acts sometimes by reason of its position, other times by reason of one of its rulerships, and still other times by reason of the other rulership: sometimes it combines the effects deriving from its position with those of one or other rulership, or at times with those of both determinations deriving from rulership.

This is when we can draw the wheat from the chaff.
Say for example a NM in Aries - you look at the ruler MA and you find out that it is conjunct your natal AS squaring transiting or natal UR. Would you be more cautious regarding accidents?

3) Transit by resonance

Say you have a MA/JU conjunction in the natal.
Every time you have a MA/JU conjunction by transit, it will resonate in your chart whether it is making an aspect or not to your natal. The best example is the recent Harris’s campaign which has raised $540 million since it was launched recently with a total that amounts to a record for any campaign in history.
From Wikipedia, the Dem Party foundation chart says Jan 8, 1828 in Baltimore with a natal conjunction MA/JU in Scorpio and transiting MA/JU conjunction in Gemini was in their natal 2nd House.
Now, this is what you won't find in astrology softwares. Transits by resonance.
When we have the same angular distance by transit than we have at birth, it is a transit by resonance. Say you have MO 160 degrees from MA natally, whenever the same angular distance is happening in the sky, it will resonate in your chart.
If we were to look at an aspectarian listing the Ptolemaic aspects by transit, we would need an extra line to remind us that Hey! the same angular distance you have at birth is repeating itself.
I have seen this over and over in natal charts. Maybe we should ask people with a natal Saturn/Pluto conjunction in 1947 and 1982 how the 2020 conjunction affected them.

The angular distance is another way to look at our chart if we think of Harmonics as based on principles of resonance.
Our chart is an orchestra, the pairs of planets are the musicians. You will say this pair MO/JU is playing with this tone. Maybe it is a Fa minor. And if you assemble this together, you get the music we are playing in this world.
I watched the video of a German astrologer, Bernd Singer explaining his definition of the personal daily chart based on the same angular MC/SU in radix and transit. Like a daily horoscope.
If we extend this idea with every planet with the AS and MC, every day the transiting AS and MC recreate the same music we are playing at birth. It is possible to see that on a given day the MC/SU encounters JU or SA. I don't mean to say that I understand the meaning of it all but starting with the MC/SU is a good way to start investigating.

You have the angular distance between 2 planets at birth.
Taking the transiting planets, you ask 'What angular distance will there be between MO and JU today' and compare this to your natal chart.
But if Jean doesn't find the answer, I am throwing this idea in the universe.

Everything is possible Georgius. The only limitations are self-imposed limitations.
A transit is a transit yes but our chart is a living organism that should be treated as a whole.
Elisabeth Vreede in Astronomy and Spiritual Science shows Saros Cycles in time and says that the planets cycles draw pictures in the sky and some are like claws others likes clouds.
And to look at our charts as A is aspecting B is a narrow focus. The whole chart doesn't stop functioning when Mercury trine your Mars. All planets are maintaining a relationship between themselves at all times.

I also note when a transiting planet stations on a natal planet, for example, Mercury stationed on my 12th house Pluto, retrograded
back to the 12th, natal mercury conjunct the descendant & Pluto rules 3rd. When Mercury got to the Gandanta degree I discovered
an associate from the past died by drowning. Another thing with transits is to notice cycles, so when Sun conjunct Saturn in Pisces
my task (6th house Sun) was to find the cause of water ingress into an apartment wall facing the seafront the cause was a mystery.
I eventually found the issue remedied the cause & completed the job when the sun opposed Saturn.

Sometimes it takes a lifetime for planets to manifest.
Here is the case of Russell Williams, a Canadian serial rapist, murderer and former colonel in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He is currently serving a life sentence with the possibility of parole after 25 years for two murders, committed in November 2009 and January 2010.
Arrested in late January 2010, the police discovered evidence he had broken into at least 82 houses to steal women's and girls' underwear, which later escalated to sexual assaults and later still to the rapes and murders.

His birth chart (Solar) shows a conjunction MO-MA in Leo squaring Hades, in opposition to Saturn and semi-square Apollon.
Mars/Hades can show murder and homicide, faulty or bad actions, working in solitude, evil deed, vulgar acts.
At birth MA was R
By secondary progressions, it turned D at the age of 8
By the time he was arrested in 2010 at the age of 47 (47 days later in the ephemeris), MA finally reached the partile square to Hades and the MO is somewhere in the vicinity.

Speaking of Hades I noticed my progressed Sun exactly over natal Hades in my 9th house my father passed away, of all the indicators to time the event it surprised me that a Uranian astrological point was the most accurate method.

Comparing Pluto (Roman) and Hades (Greek) is a good starting point.
Hades will be in Cancer between 2011 to 2041.
If you were born in the Artic, you would most likely have more words to describe the snow, like powdery snow, crusted snow, wet snow or slushy snow. Hades provides another layer of understanding of the underworld.
It is not always negative as Hades can manifest in deep research related to the far past.
Interest in Ancient astrology is an example. So is Uranian astrology whose foundation was made under the midpoint Hades=Uranus/Apollon.

What I have also found with Hades is someone or something in our life for which we become the bearer of a secret. Something we are unable to communicate with our close environment, friends and family.
So you see what Hades means when it hits your chart by transit as it last longer than by Solar Arc.

Meira Epstein in 'Hades as Court Evidence' shows the case of 'Another case of denial by an American president' who said 'I never had sex with that woman'. That denial which constituted as perjury, almost led to his impeachment.'

Anna Sanchez in a paper published in 2022 'Hades in Uranian Astrology' says...
'Should (Hades) pair with the moon, examine the public destiny, trouble with women or the mother or even the deep karma with all of the above'.

Robert Hand wrote somewhere (sorry! can't remember the exact quote) that ancient astrologers wrote the interpretations without any related aspects. So did the Uranian astrologers for which we have to extract the essence of what they were saying.

François Villée, a close friend and associate of André Barbault wrote a posthumous letter to him in 2019.
He mentions an aspect by repetition when Barbault died.
Barbault had a natal Sun square Pluto (the Sun also conjunct Jupiter and Saturn)
When he died, the same planets by transits were connected Sun square Saturn-Pluto)

He also talks about the Dry planets (Sun, Mars, Saturn, Uranus)

"What are the characteristics of the Dry element? Dry means division, independence, ability to analyze, to dissect separate elements, values ​​of lucidity, tension, retraction, dry and brittle values ​​too, and solitude.
