thanks for the history lesson on this.. i was unaware of fagan-bradley background and that they were not into indian astrology...

it sounds as though the trigger was the trine -circle divided by 3, as opposed to 9... how did they decide to move into the 9 division part?? i suppose the 2 trines will be 3 and 6 ennead as far as the enneads go.... i have to turn my laptop on to take a look, and my charts that i copy to this computer are less readable then others.. perhaps someone can post that charts you ask me to look at... if no one does in the next day or two - i will.. the trine is always considered favourable, although i know people with too many of them in their chart aren't necessarily the most practical and rely on luck more, lol... they need more squares for some gravitas!! or maybe that is gold, lol... i think i need to go back to looking at the 90 degree or 45 degree wheels!!! that is on my solar fire prog on the laptop too.. this morinus program is good, but has a lot of limitations to it, such as making ennead charts or looking at midpoints off the 90/45 wheels..

i wonder where that phrase ''dressed to the nines'' came from? maybe that is indian astrology too, lol.. just being a joker in case anyone hadn't figured that out yet..

This was Bradley's decision. At that time there wasn't any "they" who were looking at the Ennead. Here is what Jim Eshleman wrote on his web site: (I have the hard copy from years ago.)

Initially bothered by this [the significance of charts with Sun trine natal Sun over charts for other months] Bradley soon realized that the...Hindu system of "novienic" or "navamsa" divisions of the ecliptic also held true as viable returns. This meant nine basic "solar returns" during the year, one for every 40 degrees of Sun's travel.

Bradley went on to discuss the significance of "40 days and 40 nights" in the Bible which I have mentioned elsewhere on Skyscript.
