let me begin by saying this is post is coming out of some reflections on what has happened recently in europe in a number of elections in the specific countries - france, germany and austria, but also on the general direction of the european union and the role that ursula von der leyen plays as president of the european union.. i have a lot of thoughts on this and not sure where to begin! i recently read a few substack posts by thomas fazi - an italian - on the european union.. both of these are listed below in the links... also while i was away, just when i came back home i happened to notice marjorie orr did a post ruminating on this same topic - the european union, but from a slightly different angle.. her article was expanded upon recently, and i have included a link to this as well down below..

some of this post is coming out of my grappling at understanding what is going on, in particular in germany! this is why i was engaging lunlumo more recently on the topic of the 1871 chart for germany which would imply some serious dynamics coming up given the saturn-neptune opposition to the rising mars/ascendant in the 1871 chart... i speculated about the idea of the possibility of the european union breaking apart or changing in some significant way as a result of all this confluence of energies which i believe can be seen in the astrology in some way, shape and form..

so then it becomes a question of what astrology charts are the best ones to consider when considering the european union? perhaps the easiest place for me to begin is with the chart that marjorie orr uses and i will begin with, for the european union - the eu chart - dec 31st, 1957, 11pm brussels belgium which is shown below in sidereal zodiac - krisnamurti anayamsa.. i call it EU 1957 chart.



perhaps the best way for me to communicate this is thru the astrological symbolism that i see at play here... i sense that their are power struggles inside of the european union and that they are coming to the fore.. i think this is partly explained astrologically by the hard aspects that show up in some of these charts between mars and pluto.. in the above chart pluto is in the 12th house, in square to mars in the 3rd.... there is a mundane square found via the rise/setting times between sun and pluto - sun at mc, and pluto at descendant as well..

if we overlap the day chart we have for von der leyen - (no specific birth time is given for her), we see how ursulas chart also has this same mars- pluto square... she is born oct 8th, 1958, less then a year after the dec 31st 1957 EU 1957 above, pluto happens to be in the very same place! her mars is opposite EU 1957 mars... below is the biwheel with von der leyens chart on the outside..



next, lets look at the chart for the maastrict treaty.. there is a wikipedia link below for further elucidation... the chart below is for 0 am, brussels, nov 1st, 1993. in this chart we see a very close mars/pluto conjunction in opposition to moon..



finally, here is the EU enlargement chart for may 1st, 2004, brussels, 0am.. again we see a pluto-mars opposition out of sign 4 degrees of separation.. it is perhaps overshadowed somewhat by the pluto-venus opposition which in turn squares onto the moon in leo - a t square with moon at the top of the t square..



i am probably just scratching the surface of all these charts here.. we don't have an exact birth time for ursula von der leyen which would be very helpful.. on the other hand, based on the changes that are taking place on the world stage, the situation with regard to the european union at this point in history, is especially interesting... i think germany in particular is at much of the center of all this, closely followed by france.. the largest terrorist attack on european soil - nordstream destruction, has been very effectively ignored by the mainstream media, while crazy trivia tales have been given prominence... no matter how one looks at this event, it has seriously altered the dynamic in germany which has usually been thought of as an industrial powerhouse for europe.. not anymore! if at some point the people of germany challenge the narratives they are being given, i could imagine an unsettling time for germany and the european union by extension moving forward here... the most obvious challenge to germany is the saturn-neptune conjunction opp the 1871 chart ascendant/mars i have drawn attention to previously..

i see that i did indeed have a thread on the european union from about 1/2 a year ago... what is not included on this thread is a chart for the treaty of rome.. below is a chart for the treaty of rome in sidereal zodiac, krishnamurti ayanamsa.. i thought i had a thread on this chart too, but i can't find it.
i am going to change the title of the thread to stay more focused on the european union.. perhaps all the charts are valid for the european union and it becomes a case of which one is the best one to use... i don't have a clear idea on this now.. hopefully i can come to some relative conclusions in the next week.. one chart i did notice in nic campions book that struck me as relevant is this one for the treaty of rome given some of the transits to this chart at the moment... of course the chart for 1993 which aj highlighted on the jd vance is also undergoing serious astrological dynamics without question..

Thanks, James, for setting this topic up in so much detail.
To clarify any possible confusion regarding the various charts and sources for the European Union, the chart Marjorie uses is the tropical EEC chart, or European Economic Community chart found in Campion's World Horoscopes as chart 420 but set to GMT rather than local time.
Chart 420 data is: EEC, January 1, 1958, 00:01 am, Brussels, Belgium.

thanks... here is the chart referred to in nic campions book 420 - called EEC ( european economic community) in tropical zodiac with 29 virgo 45 ascendant.. in the link i saw from marjorie orr, it was a biwheel with this chart on the inside, so i am not sure what chart of her's you are referring to...
obviously the transit of neptune on the descendant, with saturn approaching by transit as well and in the vicinity of the saturn/neptune conjunction - is hitting the 7th house cusp of this chart very clearly.. this would explain some of the funk and confusion in the wake of recent events..

here is the quote from nic campions book page 424 in my 4th edition copy that i would like to share..

" The EEC came into existence at 00.00 hrs. on 1 January 1958 and chart 42- is set for this data, and for the administrative capital Brussels> This horoscope, rather than that for the Treaty of Rome, should be seen as that for the organization. The horoscope for the Treaty of Rome will be important for indicating the implementation of its provisions by the EEC, and hence should indicate many of the crises to which this organization has been prone."

the outsided role that the european commission has increasingly had would be a good chart to have, but i can find no specific time for this, other then what is listed on wikipedia and which is very close to the same date of the EEC chart shown above... the date for this is january 16th, 1958.... in the absence of a specific time, i am using noon for the tropical zodiac chart shown below..
