Hi there - today marks the passing of former US President Jimmy Carter, at the grand old age of 100 years.

His birth time seems to be reliable. This is from astro.com:

Here is the diurnal chart for 29 December 2024. The alignments seem apposite for his passing.




For noting: astro.com gives the time zone correction as CST (+6 hours). Janus and Planetdance give EST (+5 hours). I have used the CST correction as per astro.com. However time zone accuracy is a known issue for any date beyond 1970 so there could be a critical problem with Carter's horoscope. Only an archival search is likely to establish the actual time zone in use in Plains, GA, in 1924, if any was applied at all.

i liked jimmy carter, but i am not an american citizen.. however especially after his time as president he did a lot of good work for the planet, and for that, i think he was a good man... quote from wikipedia - "While historians generally consider Carter a below-average president, his post-presidency activities have been universally praised, including his peacekeeping and humanitarian efforts." i wonder if that close venus-neptune - rahu conjunction in the 10th house and most elevated cluster in his chart, has something to do with that??

important transits for this time - t uranus in the vicinity of the 8th house - depending on house systems i suppose.... it was exact square venus, the ascendant ruler and 135 his natal sun, because he has a sun to venus 45 degree aspect.... at the time of his death there is a transiting t square involving mercury-opp jupiter with saturn at the top of the t square... all of this transiting configuration aspects his natal jupiter.. i tend to associate death on some level with jupiter - a fortunate release into another realm of reality..

there are some interesting connections to his last solar return both in the tropical and sidereal versions.. this last year of his life is marked by the waning balsamic phase of the moon - a phase indicative of endings and having to let go of the past..

The Venus of the diurnal chart, lady of the natal 8th house of death, conjuncts natal Mars opposes natal Venus and aspects natal Asc via trine (if the birth time is somewhat correct). If this is repeated in the solar or the primary direction I think it is enough to indicate death.

Hi... Doris Chase Doane's Time Changes in the USA Quarto Productions, Rev. 1973 gives the following info for Georgia:

1903 - adopted EST east of 84W00, including the city of Atlanta and CST for places west of 84W00; however, no DST or War Time was observed from 1920 to 1937. On November 23, 1941 the entire state adopted EST with places west of 84W00 changing from CST to EST.

As Plains Georgia is at 84W24, in 1924 it would have been using CST with no DST in effect during the year.

Given the above, the astro.com time zone of CST is most likely the correct one for the period.
