i think the lights have been 'out' for justin for quite some time.. he has just been unwilling to step off the stage... i think he will be doing this a few months at the most from this point forward... maybe even sooner..

i do find it interesting thinking about how a particular pattern in a chart when recreated in the transits in some form, seems to act like an echo in the persons life.. i am thinking of the present transit of mars opp pluto which has been hanging around this fall and into the new year.. justin has the opposition in his natal chart... on the one hand it implies a determination to not give up and fight to the death.. on the other hand it implies energies opposed to you that are impossible to defeat or at minimum very powerful... i think that is especially his fate here at present.. but he has yet to resign.. it's coming...

i was looking at the solar return he has coming up in the next week.. his birthday is christmas day.... in the tropical zodiac 2024 solar return we see the mars-pluto opposition on the ascendant axis.... however i think the sidereal solar return for 2024 is a better reflection of his present state of affairs with the 8th sign to his natal chart rising, with neptune close to the ascendant degree.... in fact the degree of the sidereal solar return is 8 pisces, in exact opposition to his natal pluto at 8 virgo.... this 2024 solar return ascendant degree strongly emphasizes the natal mars-pluto opposition in his chart.. below is the sidereal solar return for 2024.. he is caught in a power struggle to retain his position and he is losing..
aside from neptune rising, we see the nodal axis on the ascendant axis as well, so the eclipse data this coming year will also impact him directly too given it's proximity to the sun-mars-pluto t square in his natal chart... we also see the mars-pluto opposition in the 24 sidereal solar chart here too..

it is an upcoming capricorn profection year, so the importance of saturn in the solar return is implied... in the 24 sr chart we see saturn in the 12th house in it's own sign... it is in a close square to both his natal mercury and the 24 sr mercury in this chart which doesn't bode well for the houses mercury rules natally or in the solar return chart..

Hi Ouranus, James, ... I've been pondering on what will happen with Trudeau as well; agree it does not look good. I went back a ways to see what's lead up to his situation today. The distribution is in Libra, in Mercury's term which holds trine of the North Node. Mercury is the ruler of the Ascendant and co-rules the 10th. In the radix it is Stationary Direct in Sagittarius with Jupiter and Neptune, in the 4th in opposition to the 10th of career. He's sharing by square with the Sun, and by trine with Venus and by sextile with Neptune.

The North Node is in the 6th (work) conjunct Venus, ruler of the 10th (career).

Therefore we would expect events for the period December 23, 2013 through September 22, 2021 to center around the career and work and, given the North Node contact, for such events to be critical in the life and expansive and that is what occurred, Trudeau ran for, and was elected, Prime Minister on October 19, 2015. His campaign was based on "sunny ways" (Sun), his cabinet promising to have an equal number of male and female members (Venus), and Trudeau was glamorized (Neptune) by Canadians and the world at large. The period was not all pleasant however, he had to deal with a number of scandals (Mercury, Sun ruling 12th?) and was forced to dissolve parliament and call for another election, which he won, on September 20, 2021, albeit having lost his majority.

Beginning September 22, 2021 the directed Asc moved into the sextile of Mercury and conjunction of the 12th House's 12th part (12 Libra) promising more difficulties and the New Year was kicked off by the Convoy Protest and the difficulties of dealing with the COVID pandemic (12th) and its aftermath.

On January 8, 2023 the directed Ascendant moved to contact the 1st House's 12th part and he found himself dealing with an inquiry into his use of the Emergencies Act in 2022 and on July 2, 2023 he announced he and his wife were separating (his profection was in the 4th, holding Mercury (L1) and Jupiter (L7) with Mercury divisor, sharing with itself).

On April 25, 2024 the Ascendant moved into 14 Libra and terms of Jupiter (L7, L8, in and co-ruling the 4th), and he continues to share with Mercury by sextile. Jupiter is strong in his own domicile and in the 4th house, he is with Mercury (L1), square Mars in the 8th and opposite (by sign) Saturn in the 10th (career). Throughout the year Trudeau has been under attack by the opposition leader, members of his own party and dealing with foreign policy issues over the wars (7th) in Ukraine and Gaza; to date, he has survived a non-confidence vote and pressure from members of his caucus calling for his resignation. His profection was in the 5th putting the profected Asc at 3 CP in the trine of directed Uranus at 3 VI conjunct the radix Asc; certainly the year has been chaotic for him. As well, the SR for the year has Jupiter SD in the 1st with a SD Uranus and SR Mercury conjunct SR Mars in the 9th (public battles) with his radix Asc in and conjunct the 6th (work).

Looking more closely at Freeland's resignation on December 16, 2024:
Directed 12th moving from 20 GE to 19 GE - his radix Lot of Exaltation is at 19 VI, so the directed 12th moved onto Exaltation's 10th - enemies (12th) cause problems (square) in career (10th) related to his position in life

Mercury (ruler of the radix Asc, sharing in the distribution) moved from 10 SC to 9 SC, maintaining a mitigated (doubled in power) square with directed Pluto and the directed North Node moved to conjunct his radix Mercury - a coercive (Pluto) and critical event (Node) affecting the life (Asc ruler). This square continues through 2025.

Directed Venus (L10) moved out of conjunction with his radix Jupiter (L7, L8) and distributor - change in partnership (7th) with a woman (Venus) connected with his career (10th)

In the maiora esse, Saturn was critical at 0 CA, in the radix 10th (career), profected 6th (employees). And on the day, in his minora esse, the 11th (supporters), 1st (life), Sun (honour, position), Venus (woman), Neptune (ideals) were all critical at 29 degrees of their various signs.


On December 25, 2024 he turned 53. The profection moved into the 6th, putting the Profected Asc at 3 AQ, conjunct Venus (L10) who usurps Saturn's role as LoY. She and the Sun are both in the 12th in Saturn ruled signs so in mitigated a conjunction; and Saturn is in the profected 4th of endings, all of which promises a difficult year for him although Saturn is trine Venus and the profected Asc. The nodal axis is also falling across the profected 1st/7th so the year will be critical for him.

The Solar Return for the period has the Asc at 3 Libra, ruled by Venus (LoY) who is critical at 0 CP. 3 Libra is on his profected 9th; it's possible the 9th house connection is pointing to foreign trade issues causing him problems especially given Trump's tariff threats which appeared to ignite the whole Freeland episode and his enemies (Venus in 12th) are using it against him.
SR Jupiter (distributor) is retrograde and exalted in Cancer in the 10th trine his radix Mars in Pisces pointing a battle for his career while SR Mercury (sharing in the distribution and Asc ruler) is conjunct radix Jupiter in Sagittarius in the radix 4th. So while he is embattled, his position may not be as weak as his opponents believe it to be.

Looking at his directions for his coming year: Saturn (in 10th) changing degree but not involved in a directed aspect (although conjunct the SR North Node in the SR 6th) points to some change in his career/work. His directed MC moves into 1 Aries and the trine of the directed Sun, another indication of a change in status after January 25th. And shortly after, the directed Moon (ruling the SR 10th and in profected 5th of elections) changes degree and squares the directed lot of Victory. All this while his directed Pluto and lot of Exaltation are conjunct and in mitigated (doubled in power) square with directed Mercury (Asc ruler, sharing in the distribution) which formed during Freeland's resignation; indicating the pressure he's under to step down.

There are a number of possible scenarios, one being that he steps down as leader of the Liberal Party, allowing for a leadership convention (Saturn), continues to act as PM (MC/Sun) and calls an election (Moon, 5th) when the new leader has been chosen. Neptune turning critical at the end of June and the directed Sun turning critical and moving to oppose radix Saturn from the 4th at the end of August coupled with the directed lot of Exaltation and the directed Asc changing degrees all point to a change in his life and status and most probably with his term as PM coming to an end.

This week's coming events may further clarify his position.

Trudeau, from his childhood and because of his father, Pierre Elliott who reigned as PM of Canada for a couple of decades, was trained to the exercice of politics.
His MC ruled by VE in AQU in his 5th and ruled by SA at the MC, I would see him pursuing a career as an ambassador in foreign policy. He has many contacts in the world.
It would be nice to check the SU/VE cycle in his life in relationship with his career.

Well that happened sooner than I thought it would. Thought a prorogue might be possible given the Saturn influence but didn’t think he would actually shut things done. Looks like an election in March-April. To bad we have no times for Freeland or Poilievre.

although freeland looks like a front runner, the libs could always signal how easily bought out they are by getting mark carney...

A good example of what I call a "transit by resonance". Add to that the opposition ME-JU we just went through (lots of speculative rumors). Interesting to find a conjunction ME-JU in his natal and during this period, he kept preaching unity (conjunction natal) but forces outside said otherwise (opposition transit).

Going over the MA-PL synodic cycle for Freeland, it corresponds to her Mars return. But natally, it's a waning sextile between MA and PL (She is leaving the boat!)
It will not get any better with Poilievre with a MO in Virgo in a T-square with SU-ME-NE right in Trump's natal SU-UR-MO pattern. We don't need a PM who lives in an alternate reality, a scapegoat who presents a Hollywood version of Canada.
