Re: What is the true purpose of studying astrology? 37 by Astrophilus Yes, that's what I had in mind when I was talking about the increasing alienation between astrologers and their stargazing roots. We are used to viewing the stars from the abstract one-dimensional perspective of the wheel chart. Most people can't even estimate the trajectory of the ecliptic/zodiac across the sky, or understand the difference between the tropical sign of Aries and the constellation of Aries. The most people who do astrology even do not know that at -for example- 3 p.m, the sun is in the third quadrant of the current horoscope. That is shocking. Quote Sun Feb 02, 2025 7:11 pm

Re: What is the true purpose of studying astrology? 41 by Astrophilus "Fidibus" is like a lighter - always trying to ignite our brains with the aphorisms that he throws in. We have to differentiate between the real light in the sky and the false one that we see on screen. Quote Mon Feb 03, 2025 7:26 pm
Re: What is the true purpose of studying astrology? 42 by Ouranos The new slogan of the digital era: It's not true, but I believe it, therefore it's true... It's not anymore relying on factual information but relaying our misunderstanding. We're not out of the woods yet. That is indeed shocking! Blessings! Quote Mon Feb 03, 2025 9:17 pm

The reality is what is and not our mind. Quote Mon Feb 03, 2025 9:47 pm
Re: What is the true purpose of studying astrology? 44 by stargeezer Apparently, in at least one school of astrology -- Munich Rhythm Theory --, counting the quadrants counter-clockwise from the ASC as Fidibus is doing is considered very meaningful. They don't claim that this is tradition, though, and based on what little I've read this school is quite different from astrology as most of us know it. My knowledge of MRT is based almost entirely on these 2 articles, which I happened to read a few months ago. So please don't get the idea that I'm very knowledgeable about it, as I definitely am not. http://www.radical-astrology.com/articl ... einer.html https://archaeus.art/2005/09/30/the-hor ... nedy-clan/ --stargeezer Quote Tue Feb 04, 2025 6:12 am
Re: What is the true purpose of studying astrology? 45 by Fidibus Ok, now I understand. In the 90th, I did the structural astrology with the munich school, but most of the time I did and created my own astrology. So that means that I only knew this look on to the quadrants. But it is just number, nothing else. Quote Tue Feb 04, 2025 7:46 am
Re: What is the true purpose of studying astrology? 46 by Ouranos The method in short: – A kind of “pointer” is directed through the chart, in both directions. The clockwise direction is also called right rhythm or fate rhythm. The counter-clockwise rhythm is also called left rhythm or phenomenal rhythm. Thank you for sharing Stargeezer! Interesting! I would range his theory as Esoteric astrology. Reminds me of Guenther Wachsmuth with the breathing of the Earth. It is a dive into the etheric dimension of human life. Blessings! Re: What is the true purpose of studying astrology? 47 by Fidibus I'm not a fan of the Munich School. It is true that during the founder's lifetime he had a kind of guru status among many of his followers. I can't say how that developed. This was probably because he interpreted many events correctly and was able to assign the date almost exactly. His method helped me to pinpoint births of children, moves, marriages, etc. to the exact day. What is important is always the actual result and not the perceived belief in or against something. But I have my own method, only occasionally using fragments of the Munich School. I haven't learned anything here in this forum yet. There is a lot of talk but little said. Perhaps you would care to share some examples of your method, preferably in a separate thread? I for one am always interested in learning about predictive techniques that work accurately and consistently. https://astrology.martingansten.com/ Quote Tue Feb 04, 2025 1:22 pm
