Therese Hamilton's research paper - ‘Understanding the Sidereal Signs’ 1 by Deb I have added to the Skyscript list of scholarly papers on astrology the research paper that Therese Hamilton wrote on ‘Understanding the Sidereal Signs’. Therese (and her expertise on the Sidereal Zodiac) is well-known to many of us here. She has pursued a lifetime study of her subject and this paper took her years to put together. She says of it: I really do believe the key to the sidereal zodiac is in the west. This article is probably the most important article I've ever written. I wrote this article several years ago, and doubt that at age 83 I could research and write it today... There is a clear explanation in the article of why there is no polarity and 'element' conflict between the two zodiacs, going back to Aristotle's principles The paper is listed in that section or can be viewed as a PDF directly on this link: https://www.skyscript.co.uk/pdf/Hamilto ... _Signs.pdf (My personal thanks to Therese for sharing her paper here) Quote Tue Mar 04, 2025 12:19 am

Re: Therese Hamilton's research paper - ‘Understanding the Sidereal Signs’ 4 by Deb Yes, lovely, well-deserved tribute AJ - thank you for that, and for adding the link to more of her work. James, I heard from Therese this morning, and hope she won't mind me sharing this bit of her email with you as an update: Health wise I'm not doing very well which is why I haven't been posting on Skyscript. Nothing serious like cancer, only aches and pains and mobility issues. Nerve issues and numbness related to spinal compression. I've been telling younger people to keep up with those yoga stretches! I must start doing some yoga stretches ... Quote Tue Mar 04, 2025 10:25 am

Re: Therese Hamilton's research paper - ‘Understanding the Sidereal Signs’ 7 by Therese Hamilton Thank you, Deb, AJ, James and Ouranos! I see that in the Scholarly Research Papers section of Skyscript where Deb has placed my paper I'm the only author without a Ph.D. I'm in industrious company!! As for sidereal signs of the zodiac I've been very discouraged that the contemporary so-called Vedic contingent has continued to copy Tropical interpretations to their signs of the same name without a thought as to the illogic of what they are doing. This is a corruption of India's classical doctrine on zodiac signs which after all has its origin in Hellenistic astrology. Special thanks to AJ for so many beautiful and kind words! (I will have to forward those words to my family members.) And, yes, health difficulties and simply the time and energy required to survive each day have kept me from posting on Skyscript recently. There are a number of topics on which I have wanted to express my thoughts. In the meantime I enjoy following discussions when I'm able. Thank you, everyone! http://www.snowcrest.net/sunrise/LostZodiac.htm Quote Tue Mar 04, 2025 11:11 pm
Re: Therese Hamilton's research paper - ‘Understanding the Sidereal Signs’ 8 by Omphalos Therese, I went to your website days ago (to look for your writing about the sidereal zodiac) and found that the website wasn't accessible. I tried both the link you give in your posts and by searching from Google. The Google search resolved to https://www.users.snowcrest.net/sunrise/LostZodiac.htm I got the error "This site can't be reached" with DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN I wanted to let you know, just in case you weren't aware of it. Re: Therese Hamilton's research paper - ‘Understanding the Sidereal Signs’ 9 by Therese Hamilton Thank you, Omphalos. I just went to my site from my own computer link, and there was no problem. I copied the address: http://www.snowcrest.net/sunrise/LostZodiac.htm This is the same link that appears at the bottom of my Skyscript posts, but you say it didn't work? The link you gave includes the word "users." Google came up with an old web address. Please try again, and if the link in my posts doesn't work I'll have to call my server. The site may have changed access codes and didn't bother to tell us. My web page is very old. I know the company removed the counter a long time ago. As an experiment, can you try this link which goes to a specific article on the Sun and Moon? http://www.snowcrest.net/sunrise/apolar1.htm http://www.snowcrest.net/sunrise/LostZodiac.htm Quote Wed Mar 05, 2025 9:30 pm
Re: Therese Hamilton's research paper - ‘Understanding the Sidereal Signs’ 10 by Omphalos Hi Therese, I tried the link again and it didn't work (using my standard setup of Google Chrome/Windows 11), but when I pasted the link into Microsoft Edge, it worked! I should have tried that first before I messaged you. I have no other issues with accessing websites using Chrome, however, and I use the internet a lot and go all over (meaning I don't access the same websites all the time.) So that made me a bit curious. I tried it on two other browsers I have installed. One (which is Duck Duck Go) the link worked fine; the other, which is Waterfox (a special build of Firefox browser) it didn't work - same or similar error as Google Chrome. I've no idea why! I hope you can find out. It might have to do with the difference between http: vs https: - and how that is handle in different web browsers - but I am not sure. Let me know if I can do anything to help. I'm most glad to see your site is still up and working! Cheers, Omphalos [p.s. - I did finally figure out what the setting is in Google Chrome that was preventing my accessing your site: it is a setting in Privacy & Security > Security that forces the browser to "always use a secure connection" (which is the https: thing I referred to earlier). I toggled it to the OFF setting, restarted Chrome, and your site loaded fine! ] Quote Wed Mar 05, 2025 10:56 pm
Re: Therese Hamilton's research paper - ‘Understanding the Sidereal Signs’ 11 by Therese Hamilton Thanks for this information, Omphalos. It's good to know how software settings can affect access to web sites and potentially cause other problems as well. Welcome to the computer world! I haven't worked on my web site for a number of years and don't even remember how I was able to upload articles. But there are still some useful articles on the site, though some should be updated. But...sigh...old age has crept up upon me! http://www.snowcrest.net/sunrise/LostZodiac.htm Quote Thu Mar 06, 2025 5:43 pm
