hi jane

you've put a lot of thought and work into this and i appreciate you sharing it... i have been stung a few times relying on faulty or non specific data to try to predict an election outcome... the chart for hillary clinton was a case in point... here we have 2 leading candidates with no proper birth times, for what has been announced as an april 28th 2025 election here in canada... without a time for them, it is a fools game to predict the outcome... however, since we are stuck in this duopoly set up. here are some quick thoughts..

non astro - poilievre gets a minority gov't... very subjective - i want poilievre to lose, more then carney, but i think both of them are bad for canada, with poilievre being worse... they are both very bad choices as i see it and not helpful for canada..

astro doing a comparison of carneys day chart to 6pm chart for the election date in ottawa ( not sure what time the polls close.. i might modify this all if i find out ) - here is the biwheel chart below with carney on the inside and the transits on the outside..

here is the same for poilievre - noon chart of his on the inside and 6pm transits for april 28th to ottawa on the outside.. upon further thought, 6pm is too early, as the polls are still open here in b.c. for another 5 hours?? 11pm ottawa might be a closer time for the polls to close..

i will comment briefly on what i see here in my next post..

the position of the benefics in carneys chart - venus and jupiter, being transited by planets seems positive... moon/uranus transit in the vicinity of carneys jupiter would seem very positive.. the saturn-neptune - venus- rahu config very close to carneys sun, which is in a wide conjunction to his venus - seems like positive to me.. without looking at the degrees, it appears like a transit of saturn very close to his natal sun, which would be quite an important transit here.. it looks like it is 2 degrees past his noon sun position.. without knowing anything about which house any of these planets are, i think this symbolism could go either way - an acknowledgement of his work and achievements being highlighted here, or an acknowledgement of how he is going for the brass ring, but he has taken an unscrupulous path to get here... i really don't know how this will play out.. the transits to his jupiter are more positive and clear as i read this here, but again - i don't have houses to work with..

transit of jupiter to his venus might be helpful seeing as he has a sextile between venus and jupiter in his natal chart.. south node applying to what might be his moon - would be seen as a negative here.. north node to venus - maybe that is a slight positive.. nothing else is standing out here for me... the saturn transit to his sun has clearly brought him greater public recognition and a type of fame.. he did win the liberal party leadership race, so their is that and it would have to be reflected in much of this too... the race for the pm gig seems more like a party thing then a person thing here in canada.. maybe a better way would be to read the liberal and conservative party astrology charts, but we aren't...

as for transits to poilievres chart, taurus moon transit - conjunct uranus - in the vicinity to his venus would be considered generally favourable.. t jupiter is close to his mercury/sun - again favourable.. t venus in a waxing trine to his jupiter - favourable.. t saturn in his solar 10th house - i view this as a positive as well for those seeking greater recognition... whether it pans out here for him - remains to be seen.. like i say - i don't want this dude to win, so my views will be skewed... on balance however, i think poilievre has a better set up for the election date... if i find out the closing time of the polls, i might chip in more ideas here, but i go back to my original comments... using a noon chart in the absence of a specific birth time is a type of fools game as i see it..

Good morning (from Australia)

Not sure how much credence you wish to give to this birth time for Carney, but I came across this information from an article I have just been reading.

“Based on Carney’s horoscope alone, it is hard to see how he can lose this election.  Mark Carney was born March 16, 1965 at 7.56 a.m. MST in Fort Smith, Canada.  The birth time is apparently accurate as it comes from a birth notice in the local daily newspaper.”

I found the polling station times at https://www.elections.ca/content.aspx? ... 815&lang=e so looks like the last ones will close at 10pm EDT (7pm PDT). If I remember correctly, no results can be reported until they are all closed.

I agree that Carney will probably be better than PP, my main worry is these private-public projects, they all seem to go the way of the Jarndyce vs Jarndyce lawsuit n Dickens Bleak House…they go on as long as the government tap is running.

Carney's line about people, not corporations, having value gives me some hope; I just picked up his book, Values: Building a Better World for All to get a better sense of him.

Hope to make a longer post on the charts later today.

thanks jane

i look forward to your commentary on all this!

here is a chart for mark carney using sadgesuns 756am time.. tropical zodiac..

looks positive on the surface, lol.. jupiter in taurus with jupiter ruling the 8th and he has been involved in banking as a major player and also this is what he is largely known for... i don't trust bankers, so my viewpoint might be skewed... if one ignores the placement of neptune on the descendant, a shady placement in itself, lol - you see what is essentially a bowl chart with the opposition with mars - saturn forming the outer rim of the bowl.. the mars opposite saturn suggests someone who is very driven by ambition and status.. neptune on the descendant is a slippery signature.. someone who can be all things to all people, and nothing at the same time..

venus rises ahead of the sun.. most of his life from what i can tell is about finance... money.. venus is in a mutual exchange with jupiter... moon is in a very close conjunction with pluto.. what does that say?? someone who keeps his emotions under extreme control? it is caught between the 2 outer planets uranus and pluto, a very turbulent combo of planets that was very much an important signature of the 60's when carney was born... saturn in opposition to this cluster of planets is an intense signature... the personal planets venus, mars and moon are all directly involved as well.. what is the motive of this generation? i am sure it would be hard to describe and it would come out in countless individualistic ways.. being stuck on the mutable opposition of virgo and pisces, trying to find a balance between work and service, or between practicalities and compassion??

what is the difference between being involved in the opaque and secretive business of banking and being involved in politics?? one is very shadowy and non transparent and the other dirty and often dishonest.. mark carney finds himself in an interesting place here historically..

the nodal axis runs over the 2nd/8th houses as i read the chart which again puts greater emphasis on the banking themes i keep on yammering on about..

here is the biwheel with transits to 10pm ottawa dst on the outside and mark carneys 756am fort smith chart on the inside..

having the moon transit over your ascendant at the end of the election implies mr. popularity.... moon rising is a politicians signature as i understand it... t uranus also happens to be close by, so the otherwise quiet non public banking figure is pushed into the limelight, lol.. transit jupiter is in the area of his north node - 2nd house ish.. more of the money thing is emphasized at this moment.. i generally construe a jupiter to north node transit as favourable.. saturn and north node in the vicinity of his sun in the 11th might imply the greater recognition he is seeking.. saturn rules his midheaven... north node in the same area can indicate the ''tide coming in'' as judith hill likes to say about eclipses landing in the area of your sun sign.. this could mean he is able to glide ( a very pisces word) into power here.. well, he has already won the liberal party leadership race, so their is that already... can he also convince the public of his special qualifications to lead canada at this time?? the data looks favourable on the surface, but without a birth time for the con guy, i am still going to sit on the fence here and not offer a clear prediction on this..

Hi James ... I'm finding a similar 'easy time' for him with the methods I use.
Mark_Carney.png Mark_Carney.png Viewed 2025 times 59.5 KiB
Birthtime from an announcement in a Fort Smith broadsheet (see SageSun post above).

Looking at his Distributors for the election period:
- April 1, 2014 - Jupiter in Cancer sharing by trine with Venus (L1)
- November 12, 2018 - sharing by sextile with Jupiter
- June 5, 2020 - picks up the lot of Valour
- March 7, 2025 - Saturn (L10) in Cancer
- May 23, 2028 - picks up the lot of Glory
- August 18, 2031 - Jupiter in Leo
- October 20, 2039 - sharing by trine with Saturn (L10)

Saturn rules the radix 10th (career) and is received by Jupiter, who is sharing by sextile and in Saturn's term while the distribution is in Cancer (Jupiter's exaltation). All of which speaks to the period being good for his career. Natal Saturn is opposed to Mars but he is in the 6th of work and trine to the MC and Jupiter, so not particularly menacing.

OA Directions
Directions-2025.png Directions-2025.png Viewed 2025 times 613.05 KiB
There are no planets in critical degrees.
Directed Saturn is conjunct the directed North Node (indication of a critical period)
Directed Mars is in a mitigated (double in power) square with radix Saturn (distributor) and in a mitigated inconjunct (opposition) with the directed lot of Honours which is on Saturn's trine.
Directed Mercury is conjunct directed Uranus at 14 SA and both are in a mitigated sextile with the radix MC while square the radix Moon/Pluto conjunction.
Directed Neptune is sextile radix Fortune.
Given that Saturn, the ruler of the radix MC, just became the distributor and is now connected to the North Node, Mars in his radix 6th of work, and the lot of Honours can expect (most likely) favourable activity around the career and work.

One thing of note, in all the events I've looked at using this method of direction I've never seen the Asc move so fast! It goes from 21 AR to 17 AR within 12 months; regardless of what happens, he'll be very busy!

Maiora Esse
The Sun (honours) is critical at 29 PI
Venus (Asc ruler) at 22 PI is in a mitigated sextile (trine) with radix Jupiter.
Mercury at 16 AR is trine directed Moon at 16 SA.
Mars is at 19 VI opposing radix Venus (Asc ruler) and sextile radix Neptune while maiora Neptune at 23 SC is conjunct directed Jupiter.

Minora Esse (43 days after the birth day)
Saturn at 22 AR is in a mitigated inconjunct (opposition) with directed Pluto.
Uranus 25 LI is in a mitigated inconjunct (opposition) with the radix Sun (honours).
Moon/Pluto at 27 LI are sextile the directed MC

Profection
Mark_Carney-Prof-1st.png Mark_Carney-Prof-1st.png Viewed 2025 times 63.21 KiB
Carney is 60 so he's in a Profected 1st year, ruled by Venus who falls in the profected 10th with Saturn (distributor) and ruler of the radix 10th. Venus is active in the maiora esse, Saturn (distributor) and Jupiter, who is sharing in the distribution, are both active by direction.
The election date of April 28th falls on the Profected 2nd, Mercury ruling, with Mercury active by direction.
If I apply the same methodology I used in the US Election Study (which I've never tried out on Canadian elections) things look reasonably good:
P1 = N1 => Venus (LoY) => P10/N11
P10 = N11 => Saturn (distributor) => P10/N11
PE = P2/N2 => Mercury => P11/N12
His 10th and 11th are active, both strong houses.

Solar Return
Mark_Carney-SR-2025.png Mark_Carney-SR-2025.png Viewed 2025 times 59.71 KiB
The solar return for the year shows the 10th/4th axis to be critical at 29 CA/CP (the radix 4th/10th) with the 5th (elections) fully loaded and holding Saturn (distributor, ruler of the radix 10th, in the profected 10th) sextile radix Jupiter (who is sharing in the distribution). SR Uranus (unexpected) is conjunct his radix Asc and Jupiter; it is also active by direction.

The reversed 10th/4th axis could spell trouble but on the whole, things pretty much fall where they do in the radix (usually seen as a good thing) and if I look at the profection, the CP/CA axis falls across the 9th/3rd which is where most of the problems have stemmed from. So, overall, things look fairly good for Carney and things have been going well for him so far.

Like you, it's difficult to say just 'how' well he will do without having Poilievre's chart for comparison; tomorrow will take a stab at it just using the Ingress chart, eclipse and lunation charts for Ottawa looking at 10th for Liberals (party in power) and 4th for PC's (opposition). See if they show up anything interesting.

The Aries Ingress has the Ascendant in the Fixed sign Aquarius so it will be effective for the whole year; later ingresses will modify this one.
The 10th/4th axis is critical at 29 SC/TA indicating a critical period for the nation as a whole and the government in power (10th) as well as for the people's homes, resource industries, and the opposition parties (4th)

The Sun in the 2nd places emphasis on people's wealth and personal property, the national treasury, banks, and financial transactions. It rules the 7th of foreign nations, international disputes, war so possibly indicates foreign policies that will influence the people's finances and, as it is conjunct Neptune (who is also critical and trine the MC), there will be an element of confusion, schemes, fraud, or speculation that may cause considerable damage.

The Sun is also with Mercury, ruler of the 8th, and Venus, co-ruler of the 8th, by Libra's interception in the 8th of deaths, foreign debts, taxes, tariffs, and the prime minister's caucus. Both planets are out of sect, USB and retrograde with Venus in detriment and Mercury peregrine. Venus also rules the 3rd emphasizing the likelihood of misunderstandings and problems with a foreign, neighbouring country. And, she rules the 4th, highlighting that not just the nation's finances but also her territory and opposition party is at risk.

Greer says a debilitated Venus in or ruling the 2nd brings government expenditures, speculation, and waste while a debilitated Venus in or ruling the 8th can indicate foreign trade with a "predatory dimension, weakening the nation economically" while a debilitated Mercury in the 2nd can indicate weakened foreign trade, rumours and false reports concerning stocks; and, connected with the 8th, difficulties over trade agreements and regulations.

Both Venus and Mercury are also trine the Moon (the people) in the 10th so these 2nd house economic problems are disturbing the government and Canadians in general. And Venus at 4 AR is partile trine the cusp of the 7th which, possibly, indicates that Poilievre and Trump are seen to be connected.

As well as ruling the 8th, Mercury also rules the 5th of elections, the stock market, and foreign ambassadors reinforcing a disruptive foreign influence on the country's finances and government.

With both Venus and Mercury retrograde, things seem stuck; Mercury will turn direct April 7th and Venus, on April 13th, perhaps the situation will see some movement or clarity at that time.

Looking at the 10th house of the government, Scorpio is on the cusp with Mars in detriment in Cancer in the 6th, 9th from the 10th, highlighting a focus on people's jobs (6th) and foreign trade (9th). At 20 CA it is in a partile mitigated inconjunct (opposition) with the cusp of the 11th house of parliament; highlighting the numerous difficulties the government has been having, first with the opposition party filibustering (Jupiter, ruler of the 11th, in detriment in the 4th of the opposition party), then the prorogation of parliament, resignation of the PM, and the early election call (made March 23).

Mars (L10) disposits the Sun, Venus, and Mercury and sits in the 5th (elections) from the 2nd while Mars itself is disposited by the Moon who sits in the 5th from the 6th so it would appear a lot is hanging on the election.

Looking solely at the Ingress chart, I'd guess the Liberals will stay in power. The fixed angles suggests there will be no change in government. The 10th holds the Moon (the people) and she disposits Mars (L10) in the 6th of the people's work, military, civil servants... so the people perceive him as one of themselves (or at least working for them) and receive the PM even though he (Mars) is in his Fall.
The Moon also opposes Jupiter in the 4th of the opposition. Jupiter disposits the Moon but he is in Gemini, his detriment, and the early texts say a planet in detriment cannot receive; which increases the dissonance between the people and the opposition party.

Lunation
20250427-Ottawa-NM.png 20250427-Ottawa-NM.png Viewed 1997 times 93.97 KiB
The New Moon happens on April 27, the day before the election and Mars (ruler of the Ingress MC) will be conjunct the Ingress 7th and partile trine Ingress Venus (ruler of the opposition party) while the New Moon Jupiter (in the Ingress 4th) will be in a partile semi-sextile with the Ingress Mars; the fight will be on. That the focus will be on tariffs and taxes is indicated by the New Moon in the lunation 8th.

Venus, ruler of the opposition party (Ingress 4th) will be conjunct Ingress Neptune, who she receives by exaltation, and trine the Ingress MC in Scorpio, where she is in detriment. As the Ingress itself does not appear to promise a win to the opposition party can only see the Neptune connection as the opposition party being caught up in their own hype.

okay.. i am going to try again and make sure i copy and paste before i hit the submit button!

jane

kudos on all the work you've done here.. thanks! i don't follow distributions... i got turned off the idea because as i understand it one has to use the terms/bounds and as i have noted elsewhere - they are the same no matter what zodiac is used.... but i like using solar returns and my experience has been that sidereal solar returns are more accurate.. but this is just my own observations on my own chart... i am going to use the tropical zodiac solar return for carneys 756am '''tentative'' birth time here and explain my logic..

my approach is an amalgamation of abu mashars techniques ( he has a lot of them and i don't use them all) in combo with dr k s charaks work.. charak is indian astrology of a particular variety and many of the ideas of both of them have a lot of cross over.the profection lord, or muntha plays an important role.. this lord is examined in the solar return chart for greater understanding of how the year will play out.. charak conveys the idea that it is better to look at a few solar returns in the surrounding years, as opposed to just look at the one chart.. i am not going to do that here.. ordinarily i would consider solar arc directions too, but until i get my solar fire software back on my computer here, i am not including that either.. i will be coming to no 'prediction' as i feel it is impossible to make an informed prediction on the basis of an unverified time, and without the benefit of knowing the other candidates birth data.. as it stands from yesterday carney is ''leading in the polls''.. i don't trust polls...

here is carneys solar return for 2025 shown below..
mark carney 756am Sol.jpg mark carney 756am Sol.jpg Viewed 1984 times 73.58 KiB
libra rising - that is the 6th house of carneys natal taurus rising 756am chart.. or looking at it from the 2025 solar return chart, his natal taurus rising lands in the 8th house of this chart. as you noted, venus is the profection lord here for carney as he has turned 60 and is experiencing a return of the profection placements at this time.. generally i think this is a fortuitous time, especially if the chart appears fortuitous... venus in the 25 sr chart is retro in aries and in the 7th whole sign house, but in the 6th by most other house systems.. this would be seen as a negative as i understand it..

moon is rising in libra in this nocturnal chart.. moon rules the 10th and we find mars in the 10th, with moon applying to this same mars.. it is departing from the waning trine to jupiter and approaching the square to mars.. mars in turn rules the 2nd/7th houses of the chart.. he is appealing to the canadian populace and highlighting his financial talents and background in finance as i understand it..

the other planet closest to an angle is pluto down in the area of the 4th house cusp.. perhaps this represents his base, which appears to be the same banking, and corporate elite/oligarchs that are likely funding pierre poilievres campaign as well.. they win no matter what, lol..

the chart is primarily western hemisphere emphasis, so the idea of having to relate to others - kiss babies, and go on speaking tours across the country in order to convince people of his credentials and political savvy and ability - seem emphasized for this year.. on it's own moon rising is a politicians signature.. it usually implies someone who is in tune with the public mood and knows how to tap into this important psychological gold mine and reap the rewards... i am presenting it in a more manipulative way here, which excluding that pluto on the ic is maybe not a fair or accurate way to present it.. clearly i don't trust the fellow, but i say this knowing i have even less trust or confidence in pierre poilievre... canucks has 2 leading candidates that i have no faith in whatsoever... oh well!

sr retro venus is conjunct sr mercury - ruler of the 9th and 12th houses.. venus rules the 1st/8th houses... essentially the 8th and 12th house rulers are combined here - that is the negative and i am not sure what it implies.. the positive is the 1st and 9th house rulers are connected too, lol.

i happened to look more closely at the 756am chart and happened to notice that venus is at the midpoint of the midheaven/ascendant... this is considered an important midpoint in midpoint ideology.. it again emphasizes this fellows connection to money and banking with the mutual exchange between venus-jupiter in pisces/taurus.. it could emphasize other positive characteristics too i suppose, given they are the 2 benefics of the chart...

i also forgot to mention the important jupiter-neptune opposition to his chart which is close to his ascendant.. i think of speculation as one outlet for these 2 planets.. perhaps an interest in the arts, or mysticism might be another outlet for this.. neptune on the descendant is a bit of a mystery to me.. being married to ambiguity?? i gather carney has various relationships with people in power in order to get where he is today.. i don't know who these people are but clearly he has had some success in forming relationships that have paved his career path to success here... whether it is enough for him to gain the prime minister role for canada after the election in april 2025 or not - hard to know for sure.. he has been very successful to date in getting this far and winning the liberal leadership campaign in early 2025.. so how much of that is shown in his 2024 solar return, or reflected in this 2025 return here?? i don't know.. it appears he won this position on march 14th, 2 days before the start of his 2025 return..

i don't know.. maybe he is some squeaky clean guy who wants to serve canucks in the best capacity he knows of.. i would be curious if you do read his autobiography, or is it an autobiography?? Values: Building a Better World for All - certainly sounds idealistic - is that the jupiter-neptune opposition along the ascendant axis speaking here?? or is it the venus, ruler of his taurus ascendant and landing at the midpoint of his midheaven/ascendant? venus = values of a more personal sort as i understand it... venus and the 11th house emphasis - i am using whole sign houses here - suggests important friends in high places.. this includes saturn which rules his midheaven degree..

the 2nd step to my analysis here would be the voting closing time 10 pm april 28th 2025 chart to ottawa in a biwheel with his chart chart.. i might do that in the next day.. i had it all in the previous post, but want to stop here now.. i don't trust carney and maybe it is my aversion to bankers, or just a gut feeling on the guy... i'd like to see canada find its independence and stand up on it's own in the international sphere.. i think we have lost a lot of respect and admiration as a country over the years and i can't see that changing the brand of politicians we have here at the moment.. i hope i am wrong..
