Thanks for the update SadgeSun; I wish Canadians had been as decisive as you Aussies...we've got a minority government again :(

Looking back at the Aries Ingress, perhaps I needed to take it more literally; Venus (L1 - the people) retro conjunct the Sun (leader) in Aries. Al Qabisi says a planet conjunct an Aries or Leo Sun is not burnt so, given the context (at the time polls showed the people favoured Dutton) perhaps Venus retro is indicating a "change of mind" and a return to the current leader (Sun = Albanese)?

It is strange both opposition leaders lost their seats. In the Australia Ingress the opposition party is ruled by Saturn peregrine in the 6th, being conjunct the North Node, I would have thought he would do better but it seems instead to signify an expanded (Node) harm (peregrine, 6th) perhaps reinforced by Jupiter dispositor in the 8th? The 6th house planets are all disposited by Mars in the 10th closely (3) trine Saturn (L4) indicating strength (10th) for Sun/Venus/Mercury but swifter (trine) harm for Saturn? Mars himself is disposited by the Moon (L10 current leader).

In the Canadian ingress, Venus rules the 4th (opposition party) and is retro conjunct the Sun in Aries in the 2nd so you've got the opposition not being burnt by the current leader (Sun) but also with Mercury (L8) and opposite the 8th so some harm (PC's got 40% of the vote to Libs 43%). With the 2nd house planets being disposited by Mars (L10) in the 6th - cadency shows weakness all around?

Obviously there will be reviews on why the Australian electorate swung so decisively against the Liberal Party (Conservative Party in Australia) after the Liberal/National Party were well ahead in the polls at the beginning of the year, but it's pretty clear there was a Trump factor from the analyses already taking place. First Germany, then Canada, now Australia. The global uncertainty after Trump's tariffs were introduced and the policies he has implemented have been soundly rejected by Australians. I don't have the astrological experience to link those countries' election results to what is happening in the US with Trump as President. Maybe it's not even possible?

Hi SadgeSun,

I haven't worked enough with Mundane Astrology to know how to link the countries together either; perhaps it requires composite charts of the two countries in question? Not sure, as I have little to no experience in using them either.

I was mainly curious to see how the planets fell in each Ingress and gave possible clues to what actually happened; especially as the two elections were fairly close together, time wise, with similar results. I've spent the last few months looking at charts of NBA games and trying to see if 'winning' signatures appear ... they are another area where many games are played at roughly the same times across the country, with the main differences being house cusps and the Moon's position. It's probably just whistling in the wind but I'm trying to figure out how the various planet strength/weakness indications play out relative to house determinations. Keeps me busy...if not sane...lol.

Here is an extract from an Australian astrologer, Kim Fairminer's astrology blog, on her thoughts re the 2025 Australian Federal election.
https://www.kimfairminer.com/blog-archi ... l-election

"...Saturn (signicator of the oppostion) is also applying to Neptune and Venus, but in Aries, Saturn is in fall. Combined with Pluto on the IC, this spells trouble for Dutton—possibly even a leadership challenge or loss of his seat.

Final Thoughts: My Judgement
So my judgement? It won't be as close as expected and Labor will get over the line. Based on this chart, the 2025 Australian federal election result is likely to be more decisive than anticipated, with Labor retaining government. The fixed signs angles, Sun, and the Moon's imminent ingress into Leo all point to stability, not upheaval. The ALP appears reliable on topics that matter to voters, while the LNP is under pressure from Pluto with public sentiment (the Moon) moving away from Saturn. Leadership changes in the LNP seem not just likely, but perhaps inevitable; there will certainly be internal reckonings post-election..."

Janegca, I look forward to reading more posts from you. Thank you for your contributions to this thread.

Hi SadgeSun, thanks so much for the link, excellent post by Kim Fairminer; don't believe I've read her blog before.

I did try looking at a close of poll chart for the Cdn election but I set it for the capital, Ottawa, and then realized, as the polls close 12hrs after they open, the closing chart would simply be the opposite of the polls open chart; scrutiny seemed a pointless exercise. Hadn't realized it's best to use the actual location of the region in which they close. Worth another look now; many thanks.

Yes, very interesting approach by Kim Fairminer.
Simple and to the point.

I notice that Albanese election's key issues, including migration, climate change , energy and facing Trump were similar here in Canada.
There is a meme circulating with 3 people sharing 10 cookies in a room.
The first one owns 9 cookies, the second 1 cookie and the third one...well, nothing left.
At one point the first one (Trump, Musk and the oligarchs) says to the second one (middle class people) that the third one (migrants, poor people) wants to steal his cookie. And the war begins. We have finally found the guilty one.
