Being in domicile and combustion

He may have a point. Yesterday there were two football matches with late scorpio rising. This meant the first minutes of the matches would be dominated by the home and favorite teams , but as the Asc moved to sagitarius the visitors would make a come back. But their ruler mercury in gemini was combust and they were smashed by the favourites. This tells me that being in domicile isnt enough to withstand combustion. But this is electional astrology of course

From my point of view this is an event not a election or you selected the start of the game elsewise.

Important is the start as always. Venus is the significator of the underdogs. She is in exile and in the sixth house. The favorite Mars is in Leo peregrine but in the 9th. So Mars has the upperhand and that’s it. Significators do not change solely because the Asc changes.

Well Inter were slaughtered. Mercury in gemini couldn't help. This confirms what I said since Sag was rising at the time of the match

So says the chart in my delineation. In my opinion one cannot conclude by this chart if the combustion contributed to the losing.
That was Friday matches. Champions league final yesterday had Sag rising

Fascinating point—and a great practical example of how layered and nuanced electional astrology can be.

You're absolutely right that domicile strength alone doesn’t guarantee protection, especially when combustion is involved. Mercury in Gemini should be in top form, but close proximity to the Sun can completely overwhelm that strength, as you observed in the matches. It’s a good reminder that essential dignity doesn’t cancel out accidental debility—especially something as potent as combustion.

Your interpretation of the Ascendant shift from Scorpio to Sagittarius also highlights how even short-term transits and angular changes can tell a rich story in event charts. Scorpio rising bringing early dominance, followed by a Sagittarian surge—only for Mercury's combustion to block the comeback—feels like textbook astrology unfolding in real time.

It’s encouraging to see people applying these techniques to contemporary events. There's so much we can still learn from tracking live charts with old methods—especially when done with the care and insight you’ve shown here.

Scorpio rose on Friday for two women's matches. Psg vs Inter had Sagitarius rising. The favorite Psg won 5-0.

I can give you my example. I have a wonderful Saturn but about to be combust. Discipline is unfortunately not part of my dictionary. It may also due to the Moon and Jupiter's influence
