see what I get for NOT paying attention to Baseball. I thought this was the pennent race - pre-series. The last series I remember with the A's in it, was earth moving... pun intended. isn't it getting late season here for Base ball? I mean they should already have played the series in September.

what are they adding extra games now or something? (shows how long its been since i've been into the sport, though its better played than watched, not as bad as trying to watch golf, but almost... but playing is fun)

Its football season now (funny they should call football american football as it came from England though seemed to die out in populatiry there, partly due to sumptuary laws of 16th and 17th century(fear of peasant revolt, dont want them getting all nice and bulky now), I hear, and then Soccer which was a native american sport migrated to Europe and is called football everywhere else in the world, I mean the irony of it is rather humorous...)

NEW YORK - A small plane carrying New York Yankee Cory Lidle slammed into a 50-story skyscraper Wednesday, apparently killing the pitcher and a second person in a crash that rained flaming debris onto the sidewalks and briefly raised fears of another terrorist attack.
A law enforcement official in Washington said Lidle ? an avid pilot who got his license during last year's offseason ? was aboard the single-engine aircraft when it plowed into the 30th and 31st floors of the high-rise on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Mayor Michael Bloomberg said both people aboard were killed.
Lidle's passport was found on the street, according to a federal official, speaking to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. It was not immediately clear who was at the controls and who was the second person aboard.

Can I ask if this man was actually playing in the match talked about above? The reason I ask is that I looked at the chart in relation to rules given by Geraldine Davis - they weren't especially helpful but she specified that the combust Mars on the MC pointed to injury amongst the players. I was going to ask Tom about this. I suppose that whether he was playing or not, and whether it was specifically connected to that game or not, the symbolism was still there - Mars is combust the Sun, ruler of the 8th house, on the MC in an air sign.

I didn't make a post on the chart because I wasn't confident enough in the signs of victory for either side. The Moon's trine to Jupiter looked good, but it was separating. The ascendant was late and the Moon was VOC except for its contact to Pluto on the asc. With Pluto rising and a combust Mars culminating, I couldn't see the crowds in the stadium being pleased, which didn't make sense of the favourites/home team winning.

He did play in one of the games. He was a pitcher (something like a bowler in cricket), so he didn't play in every game.The series was best of five and the Yankees, his team, lost 3 games to 1. Had the Yankees won that series, he would not have been flying that day.

As of now, it is unknown whether Cory Lidel was actually flying the plane or the other man, an instructor, was at the controls. We probably will not know for a year. Mercifully the only two deaths were those in the plane. Lots of property damage of course but it could have been much, much worse.

Most of us thought it was a half baked terrorist attack or maybe just a looney tune on his own personal jihad like the kid in Florida in January, 2002. Fighter jets were scrambled, and New York City's emergency response system worked really well. The other thing of note is that there was no panic. Concern, yes, but no general panic.

It was just a terrible accident.
