Will somebody please throw some light on the angularity of planets in the turned chart.

For instance, in a horary chart some one asks how their brother is doing. Now the signifcator of the brother (lord of 3rd) is in the 12 House of the radical chart. Incidently, this radical 12th house is 10th house of the turned chart.

So what is the position? Assuming there are no serious afflictions/weakeness to the lord of the 3rd (brother), how will his placement in the 12th (or turned 10th) be considered? Is he strong there although radical 12th is a cadent house?

Is he doing fine in his job/career/status etc (because he is VERY STRONG being in AN ANGLE 10th ie of the turned chart)?

OR is he in distress because he is quite weak in the radical 12th House?


Similarly, is the friend in a bad shape if lord of the 11th house is in the radical eighth (turned 10th from the 11th) ?

JF says in his Horary book tht angularity of houses does not change in the turned charts.

Raj, take this with a grain of salt because I'm a newbie, but I think when a house is turned, it takes on the nature of it's "new" position. Can you direct me to the page where JF says this? I would like to read it in context. Thanks.

Hi Raj,
The element of strength and weakness comes from the position in the sphere according to the horizon/midheaven etc., so the angles remain fixed no matter how you change your perspective on the chart. That is, an angular house in the radical chart is always angular and planets within them will always have the strength of an angular planet, and vice versa.

It is prob page 174?? (if, right now, my memory serves me right) where JF discusses pragnancy issues. Somewhere a little after the middle of the page, he talks about angularity of planets in the turned chart.

I have read with keen interest your comments here in the forum on JF's book with regard to the issue of reception amonst the planets. Also, JF's theory that a planet loves its, so to speak, host planet. So also Sue has posted some very interesting comments.

I was just wondering if JF ever sent a comment in reply?
