Course in horary 1 by Morgan Hello everybody, I've been studying modern natal astrology for quite a few years, and have been recently very much intrigued by horary (after reading Adrian R. Duncan on the consultation chart and using it for my own readings). I really don't know much about it. At first I read somewhere that the querent was the first house ruler and that the quesited was etc. So I tried it a few times when I had a real compelling question, and was shocked to see it so perfectly reflected in the sky. I then started reading Appleby and Barclay to know what it was really about, but I would like to learn it really. Do you guys have any suggestion (or warning) as to a really good course in horary? For the moment I have no real discrimination as I'm brand new to the topic. Frawley's is tempting but it's so expensive. I also ran across Lehman's... Please feel free to share your experiences with the teachers you had, if any... Thank you by advance, Morgan Quote Sat Oct 21, 2006 4:57 pm
2 by Sungem Hi Morgan You are fortunate indeed to have come to Skyscript! Do you guys have any suggestion (or warning) as to a really good course in horary? For the moment I have no real discrimination as I'm brand new to the topic. I don't know if you are aware that the owner of Skycript is Deborah Houlding and you could not do better than begin with the basic course on Horary that Deb has made freely available right here: http://www.skyscript.co.uk/horary_intro.html This basic course has examples and tests to give you a solid grounding to begin further study and Deb has a justified reputation as a brilliant traditional horary astrologer who sticks very close to the tradition as taught by William Lilly in his book Christian Astrology (referred to as CA). CA is the traditional astrologer's linchpin. I would strongly recommend that you get this book, do Deb's online course, then decide what type of course you need to pay for to further your studies - possibly Deb's own residential one. Explore! Skyscript is a huge site and I promise, if you are just beginning to investigate horary and the tradition, you could spend at least the next year here and learn something valuable every day. In addition, you'll find there is a wealth of articles which expand on basic concepts and the forum - with it's endlessly helpful and knowledgeable members - for the 'sticky bits'. Enjoy!
