I wonder if this chart represents what Frawley calls a placement horary, that is, one whose question is answered by the placement in the chart of the main significators? Whether you agree or not,all comments welcome.
The question was "How does this man feel about me?" from a new relationship betweeen woman querent and man quesited. Although there are no receptions that I can see betwee Saturn (L1) and Moon (L7), they are both placed in each other's 8th house (fear and anxiety). The woman has strong feelings for the man (or says she does), so could she be afraid of strong feelings, and the man also? I always feel bad about posting these questions because everyone knows more than I do, so I must beg patience once again. Thanks

I do not recall what John Frawley has to say about placement and I do not have his books with me. However, I doubt that this would be an example of placement. I would think that placement requires the planets to be in houses that relate specifically to the question. Since this is a question of romance it might make sense if the significators were in the 1st and 7th houses. But I would have thought that there still has to be an aspect between them to give a positive answer. If there is no aspect or no reception then there is no contact between the two.

I use Frawley's guidelines (from "The Horary Textbook") when judging relationship questions such as this one. Take Lord 1 to show the querent, Lord 7 for the quesited, and Venus to show the woman's "animal nature" i.e. sex drive, and the Sun to show the man's.

(As politically incorrect as this may be, no-one can deny that lust plays a major role in relationships. We've all confused lust with love at some time in our lives. It's a powerful force - the biological imperative!)

Here we see Lord 1 in the sign of the Sun - so, she really fancies him. Venus is combust - she really really fancies him!

Lord 7 is in the exaltation of Venus - he really fancies her.

However, there is no reception between Lord 1 and Lord 7, the two planets representing the lovers as thinking beings. So, there is a lot of lust flying around, but perhaps little real, lasting interest in one another.

Lord 1 and 7 are in non-beholding signs, that is, they cannot form an aspect.

The Moon separates from squaring the Sun and applies to square Venus - this reforms the conjunction of the Sun and Venus which happened quite recently. So there will be some further contact between them. However, this will probably have a sexual base, as it involves the "animal" significators, not Lord 1 itself.

So to answer the question "How does this man feel about me?" the answer is, he really fancies her! Especially as the Moon exalts Venus - he thinks she's fantastic! However, this is a sexual love only. I can't see any indications of a deep emotional connection. But this is fine - after all, the querent seems to fancy him just as much! And it will continue for some time, as the Moon is in the first third of Pisces - he is likely to fancy her for some time yet.

Don't worry about it, we all started somewhere! In relationship charts the most important thing is always the receptions. It boils down to, are Lord 1/7 interested in each other? (I look at the Sun and Venus too as I described, although not everyone would agree with the technique.)

I know this is controversial, but I always use the 5th house for a romantic relationship unless the two are actually living together or engaged.

Here, we have Saturn in Leo ruling the querent and Venus in Sag ruling the fifth. Venus will trine Saturn so the answer is yes, the two will come together.

However, with Moon in Pisces coming to square Venus, there could be some problems, but what relationship doesn't have problems?

Even using the 5th house (which I never do), I don't see this as being all that promising. Venus is out of orb of a trine to Saturn. There is almost 11 degrees of orb before the trine perfects. The orb for these two planets should be no more than 8 degrees. We cannot count this as contact. Venus is currently combust the Sun so in a weakened state. It is also in the 12th house. If you were to take Venus as the significator of the quesited then he is in a very weakened state. Being in the 12th house it may well suggest that there is something about him that is not quite honest. Saturn is in the 8th house and in its detriment. Neither significator is in great shape. As you pointed out, the Moon is within orb of a square to Venus. It does suggest some contact but not particularly positive.

I see what you mean. I guess I hadn't calculated the orb between Venus and Saturn, and the 12th house comments are particularly fascinating...

It would be interesting to find out if those observations pan out using these planets as significators.
