"How will my future be affected by buyout?"

1
Hello all,

The company that I work for is being sold, that has two implications:
1) The buyer may decide to retain my job, in which case I get to keep my job
2) The buyer may decide that I am superfluous, in which case I would get laid off and I?d be out of a job.

Naturally, this information is quite disconcerting, especially since I am very comfortable in this job.

Question asked ?How will my future be affected by the buyout?? July 31st, 5:47 PM, 3W02, 53n24, Sagittarius rising, 15 deg 04 minutes. The underlying question behind the main question was basically am I going to be out of my current job as a result of the buyout.

I am Jupiter and the Moon, my current company is Lord 10, Venus. There is planetary hour agreement. Furthermore, the Moon is posited in the 10th, indicating that my thoughts are now on my career, which makes sense. The chart is radical.

Venus and Jupiter are in mixed reception, and so are the Moon and Venus. Both I and my employer dignify each other. Venus exalts Jupiter (my employer thinks well of me) and Venus is in Jupiter?s triplicity (I am very comfortable in this company). Venus is on the cusp of the 8th ? death of existing company. It all seems to fall into place very well.

Now if you count 10th from the 10th, we come to the radical 7th. This is ruled by Mercury. If this kind of turning is valid, then Mercury would signify my next job.

Interestingly, the Moon is translating from Venus to Mercury, and this leads me to believe that my logic for giving Mercury to the 2nd job is correct. This is a true translation, because the Moon is in the dignities of both Venus and Mercury. The Moon is taking the light from the current job and passing it on to the 2nd. All of this is taking place in the radical 8th.

Meanwhile, there continues to be good mixed reception between the Moon and Mercury, so I will be comfortable in the 2nd job as well.

What I can?t seem to figure out is this:
1) Will I still be in the same job, but simply switching employers?

Or

2) Will I end up moving to another employer

The translation of light from one employer to the next seems to indicate to me that I will be retaining my current job, and the new company will not let me go.

I will be ?assisted? from one job to the next via the Moon and the transition will be smooth. So my final question is what is signified by the Moon? It rules my 8th, but it also rules the resources of the 2nd company. What/who is assisting me in the transition from current job to the next?

Any thoughts or additional insight would be appreciated.

Hello, taurus
I am not using Lilly here, but Sahl Ibn Bishr. before any further bashing :-)
Your jupiter, although in mundane 11th, is in aversion to the ASC, in 12th sign, peregrine. So, your mainly significator is moon, as Jupiter is pretty useless.
Moon is conj the MC, which is good, as she is lacking in essencial dignity and is going to via combusta.
Both venus (lord of MC) and mercury (lord of 10th sign) are in aversion to the ASC, showing the rough road ahead, I think, but they do aspect the MC... with the transference of light between them, that you have already saw, and the moon in MC, we can have reasonable certainty that you will be remain in your job.
BUT: fortuna is in detriment and clearly combusted, and mars and south node are posited in the 10th sign, so I would expect either a reduction in your net income and probably more work load and stress

I'm sorry I don't follow what you mean by Merc lord of the 10th sign?

That is a relief!

I can live with that!
The last time this happened, I went through SUCH a terrible time, I was getting relapses that I would have to go through all those terrible experiences again!!

Thank you so much for responding, I was hoping someone would pick up this post.

I meant exactly what it seens: mercury is the lord of the 10th whole sign, virgo, counting from the asc.
I am each time using more of the original whole sign approach, because in general it has great significance, sometimes much greater than the younger systems, like placidus and regiomontanus, and a mixed one with the older systems, porphyrius and alchabitius.

I've been looking at this chart with some interest because it seems to describe wonderfully well the situation that T finds herself in. Her sig' - Jupiter- is on cusp 11: she sees herself as a resource of her employer. The Moon, on the MC, shows that emotionally she is concerned with her career, while it's M/R with Venus indicates the mutual regard held by herself and her present employer.
The Moon translates the light from Venus to Mercury. Mercury here - ruling the 10th from the 10th - indicates her next employer, possibly the company that is about to take over, so at first glance we might feel safe in saying that her new bosses will retain her services.
What has to be borne in mind though is that the Moon rules the 8th house and Mercury and Venus are posited there, so some form of "death" will be linked to this transition. Not surprising really, when you consider that her present company will indeed "die" and be replaced by another.
Mercury is the natural ruler of contracts so the translation may well involve the signing of a new contract following the "death" of her old company. (Moon ruling 8th).
As for the Moon's position in the Via Combusta, I really don't think this weakens the Moon at all. Indeed, Maurice McCann on his website has this to say about the Via Combusta:

"Furthermore, between 15 and 19 degrees of Libra are the terms of Jupiter, the greater benefic, and between 20 and 24 degrees of Libra the terms of Mercury, a neutral planet. From 7 to 14 degrees of Scorpio are the terms of Jupiter, and from 15 to 21 of Scorpio are the terms of Venus. So these two sections of the horoscope formerly regarded as parts of the Via Combusta are not as malefic as the middle section from 25 Libra to 6 Scorpio."

In this horary the Moon has just left the terms of Jupiter and entered the terms of Mercury, which is what makes the translation possible.

I think we should also take note of the Moon's final aspect, which is a trine to the P.O.F. in the 2nd house. Granted, the lord of the P.O.F. is in detriment, combust and in 8th, but can we ignore the fact that the Moon in fact makes a trine to the P.O.F. itself?
I feel that T will be retained by the new company but her new contract may not be as financially satisfying as her old one.

There you go: my two-pence worth. :)

Excellent, we have a consensus!...(...grin). Two experts can not be wrong!!

I do think it's interesting how both you and Yuzuru came to inherently the same conclusion but used different methods.

Thank you Pete, as always.

An update ?

Here?s the background of the original question:

And here?s what happened. The company has been sold and a lot of people are being let go, and regretfully I am one of them.

However, I don?t get to keep my job after all?

The moon is translating the light from Venus (ruler of 10th) to Mercury. So clearly there is some sort of transfer going on, from my current job (Venus) to something else. Question is what is Mercury? And what/who is the Moon that is facilitating this transfer.

In terms of time, I find it interesting that there are 4 units of time between the time that the Moon made an aspect with Venus, and it is almost exactly 4 months since the time that the question was asked that we have found out our fates in terms of the buyout.

Feedback much appreciated ? thanks.

Hi T!,
first of all I'm really sorry to hear that the company has had to let you go. The chart was full of indications that there would be a transition from one job to the next and because of the translation of light by the Moon from Mercury to Venus I was convinced that the new company (Mercury) would retain your services. With good old hindsight* however, I now realise that I should have placed far more attention to the fact that the Moon was translating by square, which suggests trouble and difficulty. This should have alerted me to the likelihood that there wouldn't be a smooth transition from one employer to the next. I was far more focused on the receptions than on the aspects and this has been an object lesson for me!
As for "what is Mercury"? Mercury here is a significator of your next employer (rules 7th, which is 10th from 10th). Mercury is in Cancer, the 8th house and rules the 9th (regiomontanus). This seems to suggest that your next employer will possibly be concerned with such things as insurance, taxes, mortgages or the "goods of the dead", and may also have an international or legal connection.
In terms of time, I find it interesting that there are 4 units of time between the time that the Moon made an aspect with Venus, and it is almost exactly 4 months since the time that the question was asked that we have found out our fates in terms of the buyout.
Actually, the aspect with Venus is retrospective, in that it took place almost 5 units of time before the question was asked. I'm reaching here but given that Venus rules the 5th house (8th from the 10th) I would venture to suggest that this contact symbolises the date when your company first learned of its impending demise. Perhaps if we can isolate that time-frame we can extrapolate from it the date when you will likely find your next job (translation to Mercury)
What does the Moon represent? Apart from your own emotional response to the news, it's worth noting that the Moon rules the 8th (death and endings) so might well describe the necessity for one job to "die" and for that death to facilitate you having to find a second job.
Anyway T, good luck in your next job. I'm sure it won't be too long before you find it! :)

*Ain't hindsight wonderful folks? :-?

cheers,

Pete

So am I....I know, I know, life's a bitch and then you die.... (..grin...)

This is what I question; is 10th from the 10th the second employer or something else? Has Lilly ever mentioned this to be the method to find the second occurence of something?
Anyway T, good luck in your next job. I'm sure it won't be too long before you find it!
Thanks Pete, appreciate the good wishes. Are you a psychic too?... :)

have you done a horary or looked at your progressions to see when you will find your next opportunity as yet?
I haven't done a horary because I haven't gotten into desperation mode .... yet.... (...grin) ...
I'm not that familiar with progressions, so haven't really gone that route either.

But obviously I'm concerned. Since the question was "How will my future be affected by the buyout", I'm trying to tear this horary apart to figure out if the translation is taking me from one job (Venus) to another job, or is it taking the light from my current job to don't-know-what! (i.e. what ever is Mercury).

I totally trust Pete's judgement, but I can't help but question what Mercury signifies, because I don't seem to recall where in Christian Astrology the symbolism of nth from the nth signifies the second occurence of whatever "n" is (if you know what I mean..).

What do you think? Your feedback much appreciated.
Thanks.

Well I went back and had a look at what Pete had to say, and I've pulled up a chart, now I"m looking at the horary and I'm thinking its getting a bit stale here, but lets have a gander anyway.

Venus, ruler 10 and 5 on 8th cusp does not look good for current position, especially with Moon Square on on the Cusp of MC ready to change over. On the other hand Jupiter on 11 and Moon on 10 shows that perhaps what you want and what you are doing are not quite in mesh and Moon is moving to conjoin Jupiter, though she has to change, signs, attitude, something to do it, she will become in sync with herself. Moon is also in the Via combusta, which is only really important to Moon and Sun. Moon here on the 10th I dont see as a positive indication.

Venus herself is not necessarily in a bad way as she is in Cancer, but She has undergone change (uranus) and is past her trine with Jupiter (you) and a bit antagonistic to moon(also you) though Moon will go through some changes fairly quickly and re-trine Venus after having realigned her feelings with herself(moon conj jupiter) Though the work is work, I"m not certain we are talking same company, but probably similar work.

Translation of light I'm not so able with so I'll stick with the simple things. Perhaps rather than do a desperation chart, possibly a guidance chart, How do I go about getting my next opportunity, and how soon? or something?
