For the past few years, I've noticed my mom has been getting more and more forgetful and I'm very concerned that she has Alzheimers. (She will be 78 in March).

I cast a chart for Dec. 20, 2007 at 7:21 p.m. in El Paso, Texas and 29 Cancer rises in the chart, which to me, means there's nothing to be done about the situation. I am using the 10th house ruled by Mars (Aries at 19 degrees) to signify my mother. (She is an Aries, by the way).

Mars then is her ruler and it has dignity by term as it's in Sagittarius. It's in her 8th house, which is also ruled by Mars. (Eight houses from her 1st, so it's the 5th in the radical chart). Mercury, ruler of communication (and I would suppose thoughts) just passed over Mars.

Her sixth house is ruled by Mercury and Mercury is in its detriment in Sagittarius but in the eight house.

I think sadly, it looks like she does have Alzheimers. I am taking her to the doctor's office tomorrow and I've requested that he refer her for testing.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this chart. My heart is very heavy.

I presume you meant 2006? For this data, I get an ascendant at Cancer 12.

And sorry, are you in El Paso or Michigan? (Just looking at your location thingmie; wondered if you were casting from your current location or from your mom's, if you see what I mean). I grew up in Las Cruces, just a hop up the road. Don't tell anyone, though...
