Will I see my friend on my trip?

1
I asked the question at 2:11pm Feb 7th in El Cerrito, CA. It looks like a yes to me, but I'm not certain. I am the Moon in Libra (not good) but in trine to his significant Saturn in Leo (also not a good position). The thing that really gets me is the opposition of Saturn to Neptune and the Sun. It would be a mutual reception to the Sun, but there's that Neptune casting it's cloud over everything.

This isn't a particularly clear question. You use the word 'friend', but you use the 7th house as his significator. If he is a 'friend' then he is 11th house Mars. If he is a 'boyfriend' or 'potential loverboy' he is then the 7th (some will argue the 5th but I would disagree with this). It's good to be exactly clear as to your relationship before expecting an answer! Also, you should note that there are TWO El Cerritos in California; I randomly took the Riverside Co. one for the chart. As well, you didn't note whether your trip is a *long distance* trip, or a *short distance* trip, which can make a great deal of difference in terms of significators.

On that note...

The moon is in Via Combusta, although it is *nearing* a conjunction with Spica. It is applying by sextile (not trine) to Saturn, very closely, which I would immediately take as a 'yes', especially since the sextile is within arcminutes. This only counts, however, if Saturn is indeed his significator. No, he is not in good shape, although there is some reception and it looks like he thinks highly of you as you are in the sign of his exaltation.
Since we don't know what the context of this question is (it's also a good idea to provide this!) it's difficult to say why he's in such bad shape (Saturn Rx), only that he is. Perhaps he is broke, being in the second house? Perhaps you are going 'home' for a trip, since you are in the 4th house? I would worry much less about Neptunian aspects until we get the other stuff cleared up.

It's impossible to go further than that, as I am unsure as to whether we are using the correct significators. Sorry! Perhaps you could fill us in a bit more?

Thanks Archergirl! I'm in El Cerrito, Contra Costa County. The travel is to Europe, (long distance). The person is a friend who I have had romantic feelings for in the past but has only ever been a friend. I realized my mistake after writing and then thought the seventh might be right considering the past feelings. He's been very supportive of my writing, he's married and someone I don't see very often as he is of some importance in the world. I'll be in his country March 14th through the 17th.

Ah, see, the county changes everything! That moves you onto the cusp of the 5th house and him into the 3rd (and I would take Saturn for him, too, although some may disagree and put him with the 11th still). That makes more sense!

Clearly you still harbor some feelings for him that are more than platonic as you are *just about* to move into the 5th; indeed you can place yourself there. It may be that part of your desire to see him has to do with this, albeit unconsciously. With him as Saturn in the 3rd of communications, and with the sextile within arcminutes I would say it's very likely you will meet up.

However, as Saturn he is still in very poor shape, and the partial reception by exaltation can do little to mitigate such a bad state. It may be that with the exaltation he'd either *like* to be more than friends, but feels powerless to do so, or he would somehow or other be unable to give you what you want (e.g. beholds you as a friend only, etc. Don't know enough about it.)

I'll pick around in the chart some more, see if I can find anything else.
Ta!

Thanks again Archergirl that is very helpful. I'm almost thinking it's his position that gets in the way, he has so little free time that I think he mainly spends it with his family and close friends.
